“We loved our stay. The lodge was very clean, so much storage and very spacious. Everyone was very happy with it. The only negative that we had was that the check in time is very late, especially in comparison to the check out time of 09:30 which we found extremely early as you almost loose a full day as we only stayed for 2 nights. We understand this is due to cleaning but just to feed back.”

“Room nice and big but sad you have to be so mean about not providing shower gel. Never paid so much for a room and have never been anywhere that doesn’t provide it. Shame.”

“Last minute book as we didn’t like Dunston Hall so left. We did book accommodation with a patio at Waveney on Booking.com, we didn’t get a patio area (which is why we left Dunston as we had booked a room with a patio and was given something entirely different) however, the bed in the Library suite was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. The room was also good value for money. The restaurant/Inn was lovely and so was the view. I’m glad we did leave Dunston or we’d never of found this little gem!”

“Pitch we had was beautiful as it overlooked the river. Lovely family atmosphere and watching people fish, seeing the ducks and swans,moor their boats was wonderful. Staff very friendly and helpful especially the reception staff. When two lots of dog mess were found on our pitch at two different times they cleared it away promptly and with disinfectant. Its a shame some dog owners are irresponsible and spoil a beautiful site which welcomes animals. Pool-dirty, sorry but we came here about four years ago and the changing rooms were cleaner as was the pool. Also there wasn't this band system???? My children had googles and said that under the water there was a lot of tissue, hair and grass floating around on both occasions we went. Toilets were dirty as was the shower area and changing space. Restaurant- shame about queuing and it used to be waitress service and just more pleasant to sit inside with soft furnishings. Also where are the sharing platters?? That was such a lovely touch the last time we came. We ate a number of times at the restaurant as it was meant to be a break for us all but the specials did not change at all and the menu had hardly any healthy options. Its a shame there is only chips or mash offered to go with your meals. What about a veg curry with rice, chilli, jacket potatoes in the evening, chicken fajita? Limited choice for children to. Playground good for the children although tired in places, a bit of TLC is needed. Boat that we hired was fab and the staff were helpful and kind. Ice cream kiosk a lovely touch to Shop very handy, shame you don't offer freshly baked bread daily as many other sites do now or a breakfast menu in the restaurant, even if its coffee and toast or bacon sandwiches using local produce-just a thought.”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, the staff are friendly, helpful and respond quickly to any matters/problems which arise. The lodge was clean and very well equipped. However, what stops us from ticking the 'very good' box is the dangerously slippery bath, showers and hot tub at the lodges. Advice should be given to visitors to either bring their own shower mat, or have shower mats available. A notice about how slippery the hot tub is could help visitors decide whether it would be safe for them to use.”

“We had a lovely weekend in our lodge. The hot tub was perfect and the views as pretty as expected. The hot tub was warm on our arrival. The kitchen has all the supplies you could need. Check in and out was easy. The shop has essentials, and we drove to Tesco for other things which was also easy. Only complaint/improvement would be to have the lodge air conditioned, it was unbearably hot in there. Even with all doors and windows open throughout the day there was no breeze or coolness. We resorted to a cold bath of water to dip in, as the shower also is either hot or hot! The nights were incredibly warm and with only a duvet we had to try to cope with switching between duvet and no covers. Air con would be a definite improvement and complete the experience without fault. Failing that, a supply of fans throughout would be brilliant. Air con is my only improvement!”

“Lovely setting on the river Waveney, very clean cabins and great onsite facilities. Love the ferry across the river for great walks. The Waveney inn onsite serve good food at a very reasonable price. Great base for the broads. One small niggle ,would liked to have accessed the cabin / lodge a bit earlier than 4pm and departed a little later than 9.30 am given the cost of hire for 4 nights .”

“3rd time visiting Waveney not as good 1st 2nd time , chalet was slightly dirty could have done with more of a clean , staff always helpful , internet not good , however i would still come back”

“Lovely pleasant stay in the Ship’s Library room - very comfortable bed. Quite an isolated location (can’t walk to a local pub in the evening for example) but excellent for Water Sports. Attentive and caring staff.”

“After a few problems, which was very quickly rectified we had a great holiday. Waveney River centre are carrying out some much needed renovations and when they have finished the centre will be a very enjoyable place to have a holiday. We have enjoyed the centre and seen it grow over the last 10 years and will definitely be returning in the future.”

“Lodge was clean comfortable & well equipped with lots of storage space. WiFi worked fine on one tablet but not on all our devices. We and our dog enjoyed the weekend, taking the river ferry & walking to Oulton Broad for a river cruise after the high winds subsided. Waveney pub has friendly staff & serves perfectly good pub grub.”

“Lovely family orientated site. Can get a bit muddy where grass has given up but bound to happen. Only downside is shower wet rooms in desperate need of a refurb and cleaning not that great. Given quality of other loo block, reception, pub etc it seems odd to have run down shower block!”

“Great location and facilities were good. Escape Pod idea was excellent. Could do with foam on wooden structure in pod so less risk of kids hitting their heads. Pool was great facility. The pub on site had excellent food. When weather is nice the place is superb. We would return!”

“Excellent room, modern and comfy. A couple of minor issues (door loose and banging at night, extractor not working in bathroom) otherwise a really pleasant stay. Bed was the comfiest EVER!”

“We had a wonderful week at Waveney. Lovely meals at the Waveney Inn and excellent service. The facilities are very good, showers, toilets, swimming pool, etc all on the banks of the river.”
