“Ease of ordering and speed of delivery could not be faulted but the exorbitant delivery charge we find unacceptable and would hesitate to shop with you again Sorry”

“I was very happy with my purchase and in the end I was pleased with the service however initially, living in the Highlands of Scotland (5 miles from the town of Oban) I was quoted £13.99 for delivery rather than the normal rate. This is unacceptable to me so I phoned to complain. Apparently this is the DHL rate from deepest Cornwall to the West Highlands. On enquiring if my small item costing £7.50 could be posted via Royal Mail they agreed it could. It arrived 2 days after my call and the post cost £3.48 so my advice to anyone ordering a small item is to do so by phone. As to the DHL cost for delivery, I'm taking this up with my MP and MSP who are campaigning against such practices.”

Good Morning and thank you for your review. We totally appreciate your thoughts and we too find this very fustrating. We have been on a recent round of reviewing our couriers and these all charge extra for deliveries into Scotland. We hope you can appreciate that as a camping company most of our products do not come in an average size type 'shoe box' and we have set our delivery costs up to accommodate the average delivery we send out including heavy tents over 40KG. I am pleased to see we came to a compromise for your smaller item and that you were pleased with the service apart from this issue. We would appreciate you reviewing the 3 star review as we feel our hands are tied on this issue from our perspective and wish you every success with your MP's as we would like to see a change to this too.

“The product and service of WoC was fine. We had an issue with the courier DHL. Firstly they sent a time slot but then tried to deliver earlier when no one was in. We re booked a slot for two days later. This time they said they didn’t have enough postal address info to deliver. Weird that IF they found us the time before. I rang up to re arrange but they said they wouldn’t as they had tried twice already!! Had they?? Anyhow I had to drive a 30 mile round trip to collect from their depot. Pick another courier if you can please?”

“The website and the order were very smooth and easy to run. We were advised the packaging was damaged, and unfortunately the product had also suffered some damage on receipt. However the sales staff were extremely helpful in offering alternatives and discounts and also the return option. Ultimately we did returnThe fridge we purchased, but the arrangements and refund arrangements have been extremely smooth and pick up was to our convenience. On this basis we will certainly use world of camping again.”

“I bougt side awnings for my van which the company get sent direct from the supplier. When I ordered they were in stick now out of stock with a 6 week delay,”

“Not the greatest experience but they came good in the end. Items were supposed to be in stock but turned out not to be. Chose an alternative which was fine but then they kept the order on hold. Chased up again and was sorted very professionally and given next day delivery FOC. Well done in the end.”

“Good range of tents to select from. Tent has arrived and seems ok, although not tested it yet. Paid for express Saturday delivery (£19!) and tent didn't arrive. Offices were not open on bank holiday Monday as stated. However they dealt with this complaint the next working day with courtesy and an immediate offer to refund delivery charge. I await said refund (a week later). Fingers crossed.”

“New “improved” bike tent was disappointing as now does not have all round zip but just Velcro along bottom front which blows open in wind and let’s rain in. I have had to add eyelets and bungees to pegs to hold it closed”

“Acceptable in that I was Impressed by the service and communication I received on having to return the item but was not impressed with the quality of the item sent, having marks and scratches on the main body. It looked as if it had been returned before or had been an ex-display or just poor quality.”

“Although product was fine. Delivery is not good. I work Mon - Fri. Had to go to Exeter to collect my item. I Live in Plymouth. Your shop isn't even open on a Saturday. Nothing but conflictin delivery information that nobody knew what was going on.”
