Bought a picnic basket at Argos Cupar only to find it was damaged I took it back and got my money refunded they ordered me another one and was horrified when I went to collect the replacement I was offered the one I returned they went to the store and got another only to find that it was also damaged they offered to order a replacement I refused when I was then told it had somehow gone up in price by £20 overnight what a waste of my time and fuel.

Why can't they deliver items on the date specified when you pay for your goods. Note to self "don't ever order off them again", it's happens all the time!

Ordered a sliding wardrobe to be delivered during my holiday leave. Received a call to state it wasn't on the system and given another date. This coincided with me being back at work, the following week!! STRIKE 1 The delivery guys were pleasant and helpful however, upon opening the package the wardrobe was grey, nothing like the cashmere gloss I ordered. Upon looking at the codes on the box and my receipt they were worlds apart! STRIKE 2. Had to wait until the following morning to call 8am only to be informed that it could be a covering film over the panels to protect the gloss. - seriously? I asked for a manager who took my number to call me back. Two hours later I called back and was and requested the manager by name to be informed that there was no such manager called Elaine there ! Simultaneously, my phone rang with "Elaine" informing me she could not get a delivery date. I enquired if this took 2hrs to ascertain and she responded that she has other customers. STRIKE 3 No apology, discount, goodwill gesture, she was quite willing to cancel my order and send a delivery pickup in 3 days time. Wow!!! This is the second time an order has been delivered to me only to be the wrong design. Who is in charge of this operation. why are goods not checked to the order for. It's too much unnecessary stress and incompetence at all levels I will no longer rely upon this company as it's very unreliable. Kind regards from a very disgruntled , disappointed, disillusioned client.

Argos reservation system is a joke, twice today we have wasted time and petrol driving to the store with reservation numbers in hand for immediate pick up, to be told some items were not available for 5 days, others if 2 identical items were ordered were available one on arrival and one 5 hours later and not all on immediate collection as the email states, surely they all sit together on the shelf in the warehouse and as its a bank holiday noone will be delivering the 2nd one at any time before 4 pm, then customer service seriously expected us to go back again to collect a third time after already coming home after being messed about twice and choosing alternatives that were supposed to be instock and ready, Same goods totally over £100 now brought elsewhere with next day delivery and cheaper!

Bought some refurbished laptops for my business using their ebay outlet. One of them didn't work at all. Argos refused to do anything about it and I was left £170 out of pocket - apparently they do not supply products for business use, they pointed me to a page of terms and conditions (not even the same page as the actual ebay listing). This laptop had not had any use at all was dead when I got it out of the box, which happened to be a couple of months after buying. I bought it before I needed it as I thought it was a good deal (couldn't have been more wrong!) It's a shame I used to be a big fan of Argos I have been shopping there since I was a kid, but never again! DO NOT USE ARGOS ESPECIALLY FOR BUSINESS PURCHASES! Very poor is an understatement!

Never buy washing machine from argos. My washing machine was leaking so I called their customer service for exchange and they sent engineer twice but the issue was not resolved. So called them third time when my washing machine completely stopped working but still no hope. Now they are asking for upfront fee for engineer's visit. I have small kids so need to do washing daily. Secondly I have to take day off from work when the engineer visit. Now I'm totally fed up from their poor service and calling them again and again. Now I have bought new washing machine from John Lewis.

We had to wait over 6 weeks for our corner sofa to be delivered, when it did come they delivered two right hand pieces, instead of one right hand and one left hand that slots together. Despite their extensive network, Argos told me they couldn't get the right part until 3 weeks after. Which tells me they didn't actually construct the sofa properly, or there would be the corresponding left hand sofa somewhere that they could deliver. The were reluctant to give me any gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience. eventually they gave me a partial refund, but wouldn't even pick up the redundant part of the sofa until they delivered the new one. Which is even more of an inconvenience. They also delivered some bedding, but again one of the pillowcases did not have a reversible side, it was the same on both sides, however the other one was made properly. It just sloppy work, I have always bought from Argos however the manufacturing and delivery of these items has definitely made me think twice about using them again.

Have always bought from Argos as I considered them reliable honest retailers, my opinion has now changed following my recent experience. They disregard the sale of goods act by conveniently being 'unable' to locate your order after a couple of years even if delivered to your home, and even if you provide bank statement details as they state on their website, they won't tell you what the payment was for. They just say they cannot locate your order like a parrot, how convenient.. Don't buy their own brand goods such as Bush as they blow after a few years, and they offer no comeback whatsoever.

Argos - sells replacement cover for items under £150 (this replacement cover includes accidental damage) if the paperwork you get is accidentally damaged and needs to be thrown out Argos "can't prove your not scamming them" (because they don't bother keeping long term records of ACTIVE insurances in this range) so they treat you as if you are scamming them. By treating the insurance cover you paid for as invalid because the hard copy you were provided with is destroyed. I called their customer support and was told, "Even if you provide us with a bank statement proving you purchased the product and insurance from us - unless we see the original plan (of which we don't provide replacement copies of) we can't prove you haven't used it yet. So your product would not be covered." I asked if this was stipulated anywhere, "yes". Here it is, "Taking out Argos Replacement Product Care really is a low cost way of making sure your every-day electrical items are looked after. To get a replacement, just pop in to your local Argos store with the broken item *and your plan details.*" - https://www.argos.co.uk/static/StaticDisplay/includeName/replacementCover.htm

I work for a Letting Agent In Edinburgh city Centre and stupidly put our office address on the delivery address for Sofas which were meant to be delivered to the tenants! After realising this in the late morning I called customer services and spoke to a Stephanie Kane I cannot express just how helpful and sympathetic Stephanie was and done everything she could to get a hold of her delivery drivers. After being told I would receive a call back after she had spoken to her drive,r to see if they could try and deliver to a different address I received a call literally ten minutes after with an update! Her customer service skills were excellent and I really appreciated her help today. Also would like to thank Gordon the delivery driver who has also went out his way to help us and again we appreciate this so much. Thank you again to Argos and especially Stephanie Kane!!! we now have he sofas! Kind Regards Lauren

After ordering and paying online for collection at store, after failing to get a confirmation email (despite me checking they had my correct email registered at time of order), Argos Twitter Helpers, after many messages and days of waiting, eventually gave me a collection number which was not accepted by the store. I had to cancel and buy again!, and be out of pocket by £199.99 for several more days waiting for the refund. They are refusing to give compensation for the inconvenience as well. Basically, they end up trying to blame the customer for any mistake of theirs. I've had bad service from them before as well, but I will never again, because I will never use them again!

I've had quite a few poor experiences with Argos over the years, however my most recent experience at Otley Yorkshire store was fabulous! The "Magimix" 4200XL food processor was advertised at an astounding steal at £159.99, but when I went to click to buy it was coming up as OOS! By the time they ordered me one in, it had gone up to full price, however Argos kindly agreed to still let me have it at the sale price! Once ordered, yet again it was OOS! I was gutted! Anyhow, we decided if the colour cream I wanted was still not in stock in the next week, I'd settle for stainless steel - the Store Manager Jackie, actually, and unknowns to me, ordered and paid for it with her own Argos card, just in case all the steel ones sold out too! I was very touched by her kindness. Finally today the cream one came in stock today, and I bought it for the steal price of £159.99! All the staff at Otley argos in Yorkshire are fabulous, they went above and beyond any expectation I could have ever had! Highlg recommend! Thank you Argos Otley, Jackie thw manager, and Dawn.

I ordered a bed & mattress for home delivery. I chose 2 different time slots as they can't deliver together. The first delivery was through YODEL time slot 7am-8pm. I received a text from YODEL mid morning on the day, with tracking details, confirming, although Argos had said I would be called with a 2 hour slot. At 8 15pm I received a text saying the item would be delivered the next day at a time when I wouldn't be at home, with no explanation or apology. I then checked the time of the 2nd delivery for the following day re the tracking facility. Although I had booked a 7-12 morning slot & had this confirmed by email, the time had been changed to the PM slot without agreement or notice. The Argos contact no. is premium rate from a mobile which is very expensive. I had no option but to call this no. the following morning. IT GETS WORSE! Argos confirmed that the YODEL drivers had arrived at the destination to deliver at 2 30pm on the correct day. They had 2 contact nos. for me or they could have called Argos if they had any problems. So they were actually outside the property which is a large well signposted block of flats with the mattress on the van. When you put the postcode into Google & click on maps (without the rest of the address details) it brings up exactly the right location. However they returned to the depot without delivering. They did inform Argos of this but nobody bothered to let me know. DO NOT trust Argos with any deliveries. We wasted a day & a half for 2 deliveries that were booked in by them & confirmed by email, with their own delivery service & a 3rd party driver, neither of which they were able to honour. When I asked for some compensation for this mess & taking 1 1/2 days off work they offered Free delivery That equals £8.95 on a £330 order. Laughable I spoke to a manager & cancelled both orders & was finally reluctantly offered £25 in vouchers after a lot of persistence. Unbelievable shambles, they need to address their systems urgently

Do not buy a watch from Argos Please be wary of buying a watch from Argos. They provide nowhere near the level of service a jeweller would. My wife bought a Rotary ladies watch for €139.99 from the Dundrum, Ireland branch of Argos yesterday, 7th August 2015. She liked everything about the watch and was told by the assistant that the metal chain link strap could be adjusted to fit her wrist there & then in the store. At no point was it mentioned that the strap might not fit or be suitable for her wrist. So, she purchased the watch, received her receipt and the supervisor came out and removed the links to fit it. She did mention that once the links were removed the 30 day refund policy was void as they now deemed it a 2nd hand item, but at this point the watch had been purchased. Unfortunately no matter how many links were removed or popped back in the strap was either extremely tight or extremely loose on my wife's wrist, so completly unwearable. The supervisor stood her ground and said that they could not issue any refund even though in our eyes the watch was not fit for use. This was a shock to us as surely the idea of a watch is that it fits you comfortably and functions correctly. If we had gone to a jeweller I have no doubt they would either have advised us that the strap was probably not suitable for my wife's wrist, or at least tried to remove links to see if suitable before selling the watch. They would not and could not have sold a watch that did not fit. We have contacted Argos Customer Service in the UK and they are adamant that - even though, in our eyes, the watch is perfectly resellable, they just popped a couple of links out - they deemed it 2nd hand and not covered by their returns policy. Nowhere in the catalogue, online, in store or it seems via a sales assistant does it point this fact out about watch straps that might not fit & that you have no come back if you buy the watch and take the 50/50 chance you hope it will fit and if it doesn't, you are scuppered. To my mind this is deceitful selling, an unreasonable returns policy and incredibly bad customer service from the sales agents and supervisors of Argos both in Ireland & the UK. I reiterate, if we had gone to a jewellers we would have got a watch that was correctly fitted, this is fundamental to owning a watch. I am not sure if we have a case under the Fair Trading Act but I believe we should do and am going to pursue it. Argos are part of the Home Retail Group. Their Chairman is Oliver Stocken and I also intend to write to him about this, I'm sure he'll never see the letter but ultimately he is responsible for this. So, please avoid Argos like the plague if you are looking to buy a watch. Once you part with your money in Argos they do not want to know you and do not provide helpful customer service.

My item was dues for delivery on a certain day. I got to work for 7am(start at 9) to wait. I then got a call from the delivery company to say the delivery will not take place as the do not have my item. After 4-5 calls to argos and the delivery company. Argos admitted they did not send the item in time. The customer service team were very rude on the phone telling me I could not do anything about it until the following day as my parcel could still be delivered. But this was impossible as it was still in argos warehouse. Once they admitted this I asked what they were going to do to make this up to me. 'Nothing I am not worthy of compensation' ie vouchers an apology should be enough. Very bad customer service
