Argos customer service department advised we could return a faulty mower to their store. If the mower we bought was not in stock we could choose an alternative mower at the RRP of the mower we bought. The store refused to do this and after numerous phone calls to the customer service department they advised they had given us the wrong information and there was nothing they could do about this. The staff in the store were appallingly rude laughing and talking about us loudly calling us ridiculous while we were trying to resolve the matter with customer services. Disgustingly the staff member who served us was exceptionally rude to my 13 year old son. Under no circumstances will I ever shop with Argos again.

Argos's courier left a new fridge with a huge dent in the door in an open outbuilding, unfortunately it was still there when we got home and had to endure the Argos replacement 'service'. Service is non existent and despite extensive efforts to get someone in Argos to expedite a replacement, after a week of nothing on their part and daily chasing from us the order has been cancelled. Now we have to wait for them to collect the damaged fridge whilst we go proper shopping for another one. Would strongly recommend avoiding Argos for home delivery, they really are very, very poor

Paid for delivery and installation of a washing machine dryer combo. Called to check that everything was okay two days before the delivery as my pregnant wife will be at home alone.when they delivered the washing machine they said to her that no one will come to install the machine. Called again Argos and explained that we paid the full amount and we expected someone to come and install the machine is he answer we are sorry but we can't do anything as you didn't select the right option. As I mentioned I called them 2 days ago and double checked that everything was ok and they will installed the machine. At the end no one is coming and my 38 weeks pregnant wife is at home with 67kg washing machine in the middle of the kitchen not able to open fridge. Thank you so much Argos I will recommend everyone that I know to buy in Curry's, Amazon, etc... You lost a loyal costumer.

If I could give zero stars I would. I bought a electric drill from the Sutton in Ashfield branch. I got it home and I put a drill bit in it and the head wouldn't release my drill bit. So the next day I took it back. I had the receipt. I spoke to a guy called Jordan who took ages to get the bit out. I asked for a replacement or refund and he refused. Pretty rediculous when they have a 30 day money back guarantee. I stated this and he grinned at me and said I would not get a refund because the drill bit was out. I told him i was not happy because if i wasn't able to get the drill bit out again was I supposed to come back to argos? He said I was apparently. A few months later when I needed my drill again I bought a masonry bit for £12 from a DIY shop and used it only for it to be stuck again. Numerous people tried to get it out but it was stuck solid so I went back to argos. Only to be told that they didn't have a drill to match the power of that one and that they would give me £25 back because it was now reduced and I had paid £30 for it originally. Also my £12 drill bit was still stuck in it. So I was told I could have the drill that was the same power which was around £50 and they would order it in for the next day. When my partner turned up to fetch it he was told that he would need to pay £25 towards it by the manager. Which was the difference between the reduced price of the original one and the replacement one. After quibbling she agreed to give £10 off it. I told her my drill bit was £12 and she told me that without the receipt for my drill bit they wouldn't reemburse me for it even though it was still stuck in the drill that they had in their possession. That they had given me £10 off the new drill which is still the same make as the original one which was faulty. I asked why the 30 day money back guarantee was not upheld originally and she said it was because the drill was faulty and not unused even though I had brought it back in original packing with the receipt 24 hours after I had purchased it. So obviously the sale of goods act means nothing to Sutton in Ashfield argos at all. I'm disgusted that I was treated like that. I will be writing to the CEO John Rogers because the sales of goods act is there for a reason and they are not above it. This is principle.

When I bought a smartphone via Argos website I was wold it will arrive within 5 days but apparently it was send out 3 or 4 times but each time supplier lost it and promised to send a new one. I have said to them that I need it soon because it was supposed to be a present but after a month of waiting I gave up told Argos to cancel my order and refund my money however as smooth as it sounds they have even failed that! Money they have send me back to my Argos card is pending for over a month and each time when I contact argos I get empty promise that they will pass info to the financial team and they will fix it for me and I'm being told that there is nothing else that I can do except waiting. That is the last time that I'm buying anything from Argos! The amount of stress and time wasted is incredible and I haven't heard a single apology or recived any compensation.

The product arrived damaged (the corner of one of the base was caved in so had obviously been dropped from a large height), I called Argos right away and explained, they advised to send images of the damage, they then offered a small amount back on store credit which I refused and now they are not answering any of my emails, been nearly 2 weeks since I advised the damage. After I spoke to them on Live Chat, they advised that I would need to dismantle the product myself and take it back to store to get a refund, which would take a couple of hours for me to do, they refused to collect the item. There's no way they can resell it in it's state so they are purposely trying to create a barrier to try and shut me up. I find it appalling customer service

Bought a Henry hoover from argos on Argos card, after twelve months it went wrong, took item back to argos and told you have to get in touch with henry, but I do not want another henry hoover. Argos is the retailer I did not buy the hoover from henry Argos should sell Items of a merchantable quality and fit for use. Not something that after 12 months breaks down and there is nothing you can do. they like you to spend your money with them but do not like you taking items back the staff where arrogant unhelpful refused to let me speak to manager. AVOID ARGOS IF YOU DO NOT WANT ITEMS THAT FAIL AFTER TWELVE MONTHS AND ALL ARGOS STAFF CAN SAY IN SO MANY WORDS IS NOTHING WE CAN DO.

Not impressed at all and in regards to stock availability, not high marks either and the fact that an item which is readily available elsewhere is simply just not able to be sent to another store??????? Zero on that score for customer service as this should be realistically included to increase sales and quality of service.

Purchased a PS4 and some games on the 3rd July. Never arrived. Someone has signed for it with a false first name. Argos refused to provide me with the proof of signature. The delivery time frame that they state is less than an hour. I was at home. CCTV footage shows no delivery man entering the building. Spent my whole day with Argos’ customer care. Spoke to 3 different advisors (including Argos card team) and chatted with another. They just simply don’t care, still want me to pay for the stolen item. Argos customer care line is obviously not free to call. Costed me extra £26. Had to go to police and now waiting for them.

It has been 14 working days and I still have not received my online order. I placed an order with the understanding (because it said on on the order form) that delivery would be 3-5 working days. I ordered on a Monday. I got an email acknowledgment of my order with a note saying that argos would contact me before Thursday. I did not get a call back to arrange the delivery so I called on the Friday and the agent answered asking me if I wanted to schedule the delivery. So they were not going to contact me and at this stage I was already at the 5 working day SLA. As I had no choice, I arranged it for the next Wednesday between 7am and 12pm. Reluctantly I took a half day unpaid off work to be there to collect my order. Wednesday came and I called at 9am just to check if they had a time. They said 11:30. So, I said ok and I waiting again. At 11:45 I called again, they said this time that the drivers were delayed but that they would still call me before they arrived. I waited a little longer but I had to go to work so I left. At 4:30pm I called them again, this time I was told that a driver had arrived at my estate at 8am but that they could not contact me, they had an incorrect number. Both agents that I spoke to had not seen this! The man that I spoke to on this occasion updated the number and assured me that he would talk to his team lead about it. The next day, I called again. The agent this time advised me that the drivers had tried contacting me again but had the wrong number, THE NUMBER HAD NOT BEEN UPDATED. So, I spoke to a manager. I explained everything. He said that he would listen to the calls and get back to. Guess what...no call back. I have called nearly every day since and each time I get the same story, "its with Irish couriers now, we don't have contact for them, you have to wait for them to call you". So my advice to anyone thinking of getting a delivery with argos is just don't do it!! Their service desk is terrible. The management is just as bad. If my delivery ran smoothly from day one, I wouldn't have had to call them and I guess I wouldn't be in this situation, but unfortunately I am and it would be easier and 100 times less stressful to talk to a brick wall than their service desk.

Bought a head set for an Xbox and after less than 40 days the headset cracked. Upon returning to store I was told that it was accidental damage (this took approx 1 minute to decide) and refused an exchange or refund. Seems strange that something that has to be pulled apart in order to put on and take off your head to use is not capable of lasting more than 40 days - seems to me that the product is 'NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE' - perhaps the product should have a fragile sticker attached. Not sure why you have a customer services department as all you do is agree with the decision made in store - something else that seems 'NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE' I can see from the service you deliver why you no longer have to queue when making a purchase

The call before my gas cooker was getting installed. Why aren't you told these things, like wallpaper having to be removed before the gas cooker is bought? Reficulous. Alison McKenzie

I purchased to items as part of set. One could only be collected the other only delivered. Said they would be in touch to book delivery. No call just a text one day saying will be delivered today. I'm sorry I was at work! So tried to go online to re book delivery but no drop downs for times only days. So I picked Fri thinking on next page I could pick a tough time slot but it just said will deliver on Friday. What time!? I will be at work until 3. Just seems a very complicated unfriendly process

Similar to other posts. Ordered and paid for next day delivery. Waited in all day although said between 10am and 1pm. No sign of my item, no contact from Argos. Tried to contact 'speedy live chat' - I've been in a queue and the countdown says 21 minutes. Has said that for the last 30 minutes!! Argos you need to sort out your delivery and customer service or your previous good name is in jeopardy. I wouldn't buy on line again from you.
