Paid $194+ US for a fossil crab. In the picture, the crab has both claws. The specimen I received had one claw broken off, completely. When I received the package, it looked as if a 5 year old packed it and the broken off claw was nowhere in the package. This tells me that the seller KNEW he was not sending what he had portrayed in the picture, because it was NOT broken in transit. Buy at your own risk - would not use again.

the experts of art are useless..they reject items without reasons and the name of the same artists are always in the auctions.. they are not watching at the quality , tecnique and history of the painter .... italians painters living in italy are the most favourite and you can see their names in every auction .. this shows the mafia behind the website ..italian mafia ! totally a scam.. avoid it !

Stay away, don't buy or sell comics with catawiki they are complete buffoons!! No knowledge at all or backgrounds on auctioneers, they won't take items sold buy them. They make up prices and make you jump through hoops. You can never disagree with the auctioneers, they behave like children. No evidence to back up the auctioneers expertise. 90% of the time whatever you buy you will be disappointed, nothing on this website is exclusive. LOOK ELSEWHERE

What a bunch of useless incompetent brain dead no hopers who only want your money. Never ever use these banditos. Better off putting your money on a three legged donkey in the last race at Blackpool. Have it!

You thought there is some reassurance when bidding as items are reviewed by “ experts “. However, when antique items arrived, it was a totally fake! Very very straight forward fake item. And then it was the expert review.., I thought the evidence was so obvious. But NO. The expert ‘s expertise blowed my mind... no more Catawiki....what a shame !

Sold me an omega with "rotating bezel". It was glued on. They do not use expert reviews of goods as they imply. Dishonest.

Catawiki just all of a sudden close my seller account without giving me any reason. I email them 3 times and nothing reply. Ask them why they close my seller account, no reply. Ask them when they going to pay for the last payment as the buyer already received the parcel, nothing. All they do is take the money and close seller account. Terrible service.

Bought a watch and paid immediately, several weeks ago. Seller is in Spain. Received notification of shipment but tracking number is invalid. Catawiki customer support say they have tried to contact seller but no response. They suggested I contact the seller as well but no option to do so on the mobile app on my phone. Logged into my account on their main website and there is no record of any bids or shipments under my account. Have demanded my money back!

Too many bad experiences as a seller. As a seller I've rarely had such a bad experience. You have no protection at all. catawiki see you as nothing more than a cashpoint to charge very high commission yet offer NO PROTECTION at all when something goes wrong. My final loss on catawiki is around 200 euros. Why? Because the buyer sent me an incorrect address so the package was lost. Because the address is incorrect the package is uninsured. catawiki see this is the sellers responsibility so the buyer is refunded. Tell me in what world this is the sellers fault?

Not fair if you cant give them 0 points. I placed a wrong bid much higher then previous bid and what its worth, (as the website also raises to your maximum bid straight away) I contacted them immediately and got a same response, if you bid you have to buy. Crooks, stay away...

Mijn ervaring is ......communicatie beneden peil

Absolute dreadful customer service . I purchased a selection it Corgi toys which were advertised as genuine , to make matters worse, the so called specialist said “ lovely genuine items from the 60’s” but they were repainted with reproduction boxes. I paid €124 plus a whopping €34 shipping for two fake vehicles. I complained for almost 5 weeks before they offered me €30 Catawiki credit , but when I tried using it , it failed to be recognised at the checkout . An absolute hopeless auction site with dubious sellers . Avoid

Bought an item from Holland. Received in 2 weeks but completely different item, not what I paid for. The same day I have done some pictures (item, package, labels), send messages and pictures to the seller and to Catawiki customer services. Wanted to return the item and have my money back. The seller doesn't respond, Catawiki investigated the case another 2 weeks, then they made a decision in seller favour. What a horrible experience. Avoid this site.

there seems to be little control as to the sellers information , the suggested price is a total farce , the watch I purchased is so obviously cheap rubbish which I paid approx £300.00 , the site said up to 550 euro my valuation nearer £50.00 , the leather strap has broken after once worn , the watch has been used although the sticker on the back was still on .Without a photo no one is interested , cannot take this as am nearly blind.Do not use this site as they accept any rubbish. DISGUSTING KEEP AWAY AS PRICES ARE FALSE

It is a pity I didn't take take time to find reviews on CataWiki before placing a bid. This is a site where one gets the idea that everything is reputable. There is a picture of an expert. One gets the idea that the products are checked by that expert. After my experience now I would say all fur coat and no knickers. After my negative experience with CW I asked to speak to that expert. They say I can't. In theory it is possible that the so called experts don't even exist. I made a bid on a violin which on arrival showed a fatal flaw. The neck is at a wrong angle so it is only playable if an expensive repair gets done. The seller claims ignorance 'selling for a friend' but was knowledgeable enough to not show the flaw on the photographs. This makes the item unfit for purpose. He didn't want to accept a return and CW claims the item was as described. CW answers calls and emails but to no satisfaction and so far I have not spoken to an expert, but I did notice that they now have a different expert for violins since my purchase in February. Do not buy with this bunch as pigs in pokes are waiting for you.
