“They are terrible at what they do. ebay is your best bet. I sold X three times. After a while I had X to sell again, they don't except it, no excuse, no explanation. Their so called 'auction masters' are nothing but a bunch of arrogant-selfindulgent-still-living-in-their-mothers-basement assholes. Steer CLEAR OF THESE WANNABE AUCTIONEERS. This is amateur hour.”

“Catawiki made me sell chinese antiques from the 18th century as 19th century and did not care about proof of age or comparable items (luckily buyers have a better idea of the item, as the selling prices show). An other object was under review for more than one month! After several emails, nobody cared and I deleted it from the list of submitted objects. A new one is already in Limbo for 3 weeks again... Pre-Columbian Objects from a collection established in the 1960's... said to be fake !? Two month later I resubmitted them. This time they got accepted... by the same expert... I have seen items where more then ten years of experience screamed: fake... sell for hundreds of dollars! Hands off this platform! If you are a seller and you are sure of what you got to offer! When you are a buyer, you either get fooled by them, or find a nice antique for a small price, because they have no knowledge of what they sell or knowingly sell everything including fakes, in most of the antiques departements!”

“I bought a lithography called La pilule rouge by a French artist. It was sent to a post office in Alicante where I live. As I had given my artist 's name ( normally I get every parcel delivered at my place), the woman at the counter refused to give it to me. That was in October. Ever since I have been trying to get in touch with the site ( how?), I told the seller who answered back in an angry tone. All I want is to know where what I paid for (144€) is. If it was returned to the owner, surely I could get it back? I am willing to pay for the postage. I have the tracking number I will write it when somebody gets back to me. Until then, I will not be bidfing on Catawiki. Nathalie Michot-Duval”

“The goods sold on there are sold as genuine, but they are actually FAKE! Catawiki's customer service is non-existent and trying to get a refund is impossible! DO NOT USE CATAWIKI! Stick to ebay - where they protect customers!”

“10 time I ordered and 2 of 10 I did not receive wine. First time 13 instead of 15 bottles comes. Second parcel gone at all. Support tells sorry and no money back. Do not use this service. Be carefull.”

“Bardzo kiepska obsługa. Kupiłem kolczyki na aukcji 01/11/2019r do dnia 15/11/2019 ich nie otrzymałem. Wysłałem kilkanaście maili do działu obsługi zero odzewu. Sprzedjacy Daizy Jewellery- Spain codziennie sprawdza gdzie jest wysyłka i nie ma odpowiedzi. Niestety nie polecam”

“This is a website that does not protect the buyer. Bought an item that was incorrectly described (on purpose), and Catawiki support team told be they couldn't do anything, and hung the call, leaving me to speak by myself. During the call I was calm and polite - use catawiki at your own risk.”

“I have used catawiki many times to buy different things. Not a single problem! I love the platform. I had a problem with the app, contacted the support, and after some time the app got updated and the problem was solved (i couldn t see shipments in transit).”

“Been orederd an itimes. Due to seeler lack of contact and itiems not been send I asked catawiki support for advice.. been told i can cancell transaction and get money refud up to 10 day. Aparently after 10 days no sign of refund -back to catawiki support -heard appoligise and after 3 days I have money refund - but not in full.. So I asked CATAWIKI again - about rest of refund ... Since over weeek nobody replaying to my emials - seams like not honest company at all -be aware off..”

“Just some advice. I bid on a lot of wine which I won. The postage costs were ridiculous and so I refused to pay. First they threaten,then the get a debt collecting agency on to you and start adding "costs. Dont worry in the end there is nothing they can do and I heard no more. Ian”

“I tried to buy through Catawiki a hi-fi tuner. I placed a price of 65 euros. For three days noone offered a higher price, but the last afternoon my offer was overpriced by others, then I waited to the last minute to see the hight of the auction and being the price at 77 euros, 2 seconds before the auction closes I offered a price of 82 euros. Pay attention to this detail.2 seconds before the auction ends. Then the manager of the auction of Catawiki instead of closing the auction to my banefit, half a second before the end, he changed the time and gave another 2 minutes time for the auction. So two other byers (probably of the catawiki stuff) increased the amount of the auction to 98 euros. I did not overpriced, for I felt that I had to deal with an untrusty unhonest company.”

“Be careful: I bought a pair of stud diamond earrings on catawiki. The value estimate of the the "experts" was possibly around 4-5 times the real value. The shipping cost were absolutely exaggerated, what seems to be fine with catawiki. No surprise, it is offered by a commercial seller of jewelry, who certainly provides a fantastic turnover for catawiki and has a 100% rating (!!!). Looks like a very special form of sales promotion with a very strong smell.”

“I believe these 2 watches are the same, yet the same valuer can value 1 double the other just 2 weeks apart! “I am a seller on catawiki. The first two sellings of mine were sold out undervalued, well, I sent it anyway cause I didn't know I could put a value on my painting. I tried again with two small paintings ( 20 cm x 20 cm ), I put 80€ for its value and another medium size ( 46 cm x 38 cm ) painting for 150€. Their expert Lisa KOK refused me and said " "From our experience and based on our knowledge of the market, we do not think that lot will attract enough interest from our potential buyers, so we can not include it in our sales." We apologize for the disappointment Please do not hesitate to submit other lots that we will examine with pleasure. " I got the two the same copy-paste answered for two different lots that I believe she copypaste from and to another lots as well. This is not what i expect how their expert to communicate with the seller. Below is one of the lots she refused. I think it's not a good place to sell art.”

“Won rug, paid for it in good faith, one month later and no rug received. Seller is not genuine, Catawiki are yet to respond to my complaint. Will I buy again through Catawiki? Not a chance!”
