“Catawiki is an absolute scam. I purchased a bag, when I received it, the condition was much worse than indicated and it smelled horrible, like it was stored in a basement. I immediately filed a claim and request to return. Now, four weeks later, nothing has happened and no one has helped me resolve this. This is so unprofessional and fraudulent.”
“I purchased a Cartier watch from catawiki, seller sent a fake replica. I contacted support more than 1 week ago. Issue is still not resolved. I had to send 3 emails, make 3 phone calls to get to know that their so called “experts” think watch is real. I sent soooo many proofs which seemingly was ignored. Terrible support, terrible platform. Now they are telling me that I need to wait few more business days for "experts" to look at the issue again.
To top it off, the seller is not selling diamonds on his profile! Haha! He should be at the police station in handcuffs instead.

Any question after sales should be directed to seller while we are paying 3 euro + 9pct for buyers protection? Strange as i never get any response from catawiki if not delivered. “All fine and dandy....until you have and issue and CUSTOMER SERVICE STOPS ANSWERING YOUR EMAILS !!!! What you read from other people's experience is ABSOLUTELY TRUE.I am really disappointed, as I thought that Catawiki was a serious platform.I received an item that arrived with very poor packaging and even probably already faulty/broken, prior to postage.Seller did not respond initially and Catawiki support required me to send pictures and evidence within a one day window !!!!...otherwise they would have considered the case closed,so I did it immediately.After 8 days I asked for a follow up and they just replied by only saying they forwarded the pictures to the "EXPERT" for evaluation.As if the expert can really determine better than me, the buyer, from pictures, if a musical studio unit is faulty broken without any dramatic external damage.So as saying if the "EXPERT" decides there is nothing wrong...sorry, you just lost your money !?!...RIDICULOUS...The seller sent me a message saying that he will wait for the expert's opinion...adding nothing more.I opened the case with them on the 3rd of April and today is already the 28th....no reply to my email on the 17th and 22nd asking for a resolution.A month to resolve such a simple issue?
Will probably not use the platform anymore, as I do not feel protected at all as a buyer.”

“Just got scammed by catawiki- the item claimed to be authentic (that was expected to be the pendant- black pearl, but I got a glass fake covered by transparent skin which got damaged under my fingers while rubbing it). So, it appeared to be a cheap fake! I wrote the review on the item/seller and catawiki removed it!
So, catawiki is organised fraud as they collaborate and cover the scammers.”

“I am a painter and have tried to sell my oil paintings on Catawiki. I am professionally trained, graduated from fine art academy and have more than 20 years of experience. Found myself in a situation that I just needed to sell couple of paintings quickly to get some money and repair my budget. Submitted my work and guess what? all 3 of my paintings were rejected, and I was told by Catawiki "expert" that they could not accept them because their value is less than 100 EUR. What a joke! and when you check what some paintings they accept for auction you can tell right away at least half of them were painted by people who do not even know how to paint, and definitely were not professionally trained. They accept plenty of kitsch and reject art works being made by professional painters. I don't get it at all. Avoid if you can.”
“Had a watch delivered which lost a screw pin from the strap within a week. The response from the buyer was positive until it came to sending a replacement screw, then it was negative.
Catawiki changed a negative post to a neutral post and refused to discuss the reasons why. They just want everyone to think its a genuine business when it's a scam.”
“Echoing many of the people's opinions on this scam of an auction site. I had three(!!!)watches refused to be put up for auction, for various reasons,including , basically them "experts" saying, that it's not worth the trouble, because they are worth 200$ or less. Or the watch mosses box and papers when the title,pictures and description literally states it comes as a full box!(See screenshots) The same experts that evaluate fake watches(and I can prove that with screenshots other) for hundreds of times thier worth. I asked other watch sellers around, they reckon it happened to them too. Shambles. Also, while bidding, the sellers either has bots that automatically outbid you, or they bid themselves from a fake account, created for the purpose, in order to inflate the final price as much as possible . It happened to me on multiple auctions, while bidding for various watches. It basically is a big fat lie, a scam, between dubious or/and high volume sellers and the so-called experts, that are nothing more than their commission driven puppets. In their world, everyone wins...except you, who is out of the deal, of course.
Oh, by the way. The 3 watches they rejected? Two of them already sold, and the other one is on it's way(they rejected them a month ago, and they were posted on a different platform in the same time as theirs). So much for their expert view. Mark my words: Catawiki is going down(with a bang) in the next 2 to 3 years. Probably closed down for corruption charges and illegal interference with the market.”

“As a buyer you’re left unprotected when you buy from a high volume seller. The seller had left out description of damage on the item, had taken pictures from angles where the damage could not be seen and had made the object wet to get more vibrant colors. Furthermore, due to the damage it was actually visible that the object was fake. Seller was natural-art-minerals from Germany. Catawiki completely chooses buyer side, ignores my remarks and even removes the bad review on the seller’s request.”
