I have just purchased a gorgeous personalised necklace from Hulyah London via Etsy. I am absolutely delighted with it. Great value for money and so pretty. I can’t believe how quickly Hulyah managed to process the order, personalise the necklace and have it delivered to me in Scotland - super fast. I think I have just found the solution to some of the birthday gift drama’s I can have at times. Well done Hulyah - I’ll be shopping again soon !

Etsy is the worst company to deal with! If you have a problem you can get through the first tier of representatives. The customer service rep will pretend to help you but the reality is you need to escalate the case and continue to call everyday and even then nothing happens because there is no live voice for escalations just email. It is not until you engage your credit card company that Etsy will respond as then it is to tell you they cannot respond because you called your credit card company…. Very bad experience and I would give less than one star if I could!

Never receive purchase, file complaint and Etsy closes it as soon as you file, label it as resolved when in fact it’s not, nothing but rip off company

1000%+ without question. Exceeded all expectations and I will most certainly be ordering more!!!! Stunning packaging, quickly received, excellent quality. Classic piece perfect for me to wear in my role in long term care where jewelry must be minimized for infection control. Outstanding find and highest recommendation. Cheers, Liz Young

Unfortunately, I was one of the ones caught up in the fake furniture selling racket on Etsy. What a nightmare. BEWARE! Also, Etsy provides little immediate support for customers who have been scammed. You MUST call your credit card company and reverse the charges IMMEDIATELY. Please, learn from my mistake. Don't wait on a resolution from Etsy.

I received an item with a poor quality from an Etsy seller that it’s an health hazard. I wanted to return the item and get a full refund but the seller didn’t want to pay for the return postage. Major online shopping platforms like ebay and Amazon give full refund and return postage if the item is the seller’s vaulty. So I opened a case and reported the seller to Etsy. But Etsy did nothing. I ended up paying $70 for a return postage to get $220 refund. So beware if you shop at etsy. Their don’t have buyer protection for refund, return and substandard quality items.

I browsed the site once. Decided NOT to buy anything. However, I now have 9 unauthorized charges on my credit card and customer support is ignoring my e-mails. Two vendors are responsible for somehow hacking my credit card information and using it to charge purchases on my credit. I usually purchase from sites that take Paypal and I always keep my online purchase receipts and order number in an online shopping file. I know I did not purchase from this site as Paypal is NOT accepted. They have not been helpful in resolving my issue.

They refused to accept my bank account info, and kept saying over and over that they couldn't use it, please input different info... My banking info has been the same for the past 31+ years. On top of that, they didn't list the thing that I was selling. And then they had the actual audacity to charge me for the listing. WHICH THEY DIDN'T EVEN PUT UP BECAUSE I COULD PUT MY BANK ACCOUNT INFO IN. I'm refusing to pay that dumb listing charge. I don't care if it is only 20 cents; I'm not going to pay for something that they literally couldn't even be bothered to list, even when they said that they would!

Extremely bad comms - nothing makes sense! Even a chat option would help. Done my time - I'm off to pastures new.

You don’t want to sell on Etsy. If you’re an Artisan or Craftsman and make a product, and you what to work from home and sell online to make a little extra money or subsidize another income, look elsewhere to sell. It’s a bait and switch gimmick. When you first start they give your items good placements in search and advertise your items. After you’ve done well for some time they drop the ball. I started selling on Etsy in 2012 and my sales increased every year with 2018 being my best. Then in June of 2019 Josh Silverman announced that Etsy would be cutting back on Google Ads in an effort to get sellers to pay for more ads. Since I had never paid for ads before and was selling all I cared to make I didn’t think I needed Ads. That’s when my sales crashed and continue to drop. My sales for the second half of 2019 were 23% of the same period for the previous year. And that’s long before COVID-19. When Etsy didn’t get the participation they wanted they implemented the Off-Site Ad program. Shops that have ever sold $10K in any 365 day period pay an additional 12% on every sale brought to them by Etsy through a Google, Instagram, Facebook, etc ad. Shops under 10K pay an additional 15% , but have the option to opt out of the program. But I opted out and I’m not getting sales. The fee is in addition to the already sales fee of 5%. That’s 17-20%, and it is charged against the whole transaction (item price + sales tax + shipping cost ) and then there is the processing fee of 3%. When figured against the item price only for some it can be as much as 25-30% or more. You may want to consider this if you are thinking of selling on Etsy. It is obvious to me that if I don’t buy into the program I won’t be able to make it on Etsy. My item is time consuming to make and I can’t give up that much money to advertise fees and if I raise my prices I can’t compete. I once made pretty good money selling on Etsy to subsidize my S.S. Now my Etsy shop is dead. I’ve been reading the Etsy forums for some years and since this Off-Site Ad program started I’ve seen many shops close and are no longer with Etsy.

Etsy charges sellers exorbitant fees and commissions but treat their sellers like TRASH. Seller support is a joke. They take forever to respond, if they even do, and trying to work out a shop suspension can drag on for weeks because you are lucky if you get one reply every other business day. They have no phone support unlike amazon seller support, and their canned response mentions how they get so many support requests that responses will be delayed. Well, hire more support staff! What are our fees paying for?? And yes, your shop can be deactivated with no explanation whatsoever. They'll claim an email was sent, but their email system routinely does NOT send out important emails to sellers. Just a horribly run company and sellers should avoid at all costs.

BEWARE: Oklahoma business Oliver and Olivia Apparel / Jill Snow-Ford and Trent Ford. They are now using the name "Buffalo Shirt Company" on ETSY under false names. Jill Ford and Trent Ford previously owned Oliver and Olivia Apparel which they filed bankruptcy on March 17, 2021. I never leave bad reviews, but I'm coming here to warn every individual I know about a company I've been with for the last few years and the couple who "operate" it. On March 2nd at 9PM Jill sent her team of 35+ a text message to tell us we were all out of our jobs with no prior warning. We are now unsure if we'll get our final checks for the last 2+ weeks of work - her track record of blatant lies and deceit, and her mind-blowing financial oversights which caused the company's downfall precede this worry. Leading up to this, she's been fraudulently listing products on Etsy, Amazon and Jane that she knew we could not deliver on. If we even had inventory of the items in the listings, they were advertised for production times that were drastically shorter than what we were able to accommodate. A few days after she let the employees go; Jill Ford and Trent re-branded "Oliver and Olivia Apparel" on Jane to "Printed Tees Shirt Company." Jane has closed the shop but it is still visible to the public. I attached a link below. Real example: you see a Christmas stocking on Amazon that says "2-day shipping", when in reality you will not see the item for 90 days at least. Our shop then prints the shipping label without having the item ready, which makes it ineligible for a refund and allows her to blame mail carriers. It doesn't make sense, right? It is more than accidental bad book keeping, and more than a crazy "holiday rush". She's been doing intentionally deceitful business for a long, long time. This is just the surface of it. There is SO much more to this story, and I will invite others to share their experiences in comments. The thing that made all of this tolerable is the team I worked with - in case you're wondering why we all stuck around. At the time of operations closing, we were still catching up on pre-Christmas orders because she had refused to take the listings down in November, when we were desperately trying to tell her we were at production capacity for the Christmas season. Around the same time we were all watching her spend company money frivolously, having just closed on a million dollar estate for herself. I have watched this woman use her managers as scapegoats for her own poor decision making, throw an absolute fit like a child in front of her entire team to try and garner sympathy, and threaten to fire staff if they did not come in for overtime during Christmas weekend. She is not fit to run a business. TLDR: Several of us are in contact with the labor commission over fear of not receiving pay, and we're all struggling to find new jobs or file for unemployment (painstakingly). Hundreds, maybe thousands of customers will never receive items they paid for nor will they see refunds from O&O. Be sure to share so that both employees and customers alike can save their time from an untrustworthy company. Etsy would not allow me to paste my links. There is a news report that was done. You can google Oliver and Olivia bankruptcy and it should pop up. I also could now paste the link to Jane. If you search in google "Printed Tees Shirt Company on Jane" the first link should be the one. Etsy is an absolutely horrible company to run a business under and to buy from. They are not trust worthy, they are over priced and they treat their business owners like pieces of sh*t. I got an email, while i was in the process of creating my store and a single first product to sell that they closed my account without explanation. Here is what the email said: After a comprehensive review of your account, Etsy has determined it violates our Terms of Service or House Rules. As a result, Etsy has permanently closed your account. Please do not open any additional accounts for buying or selling, as they will be closed without notice. This decision is final and we will not respond to any further outreach about your account. This email constitutes our final communication on this matter. It was rude. Zero explanation at all, horrible PR for a new seller
