“After visiting the Weatherspoons at unit 5 London Victoria Station yesterday I was deeply disappointed in the food that was served up. Not only did we wait an hour for the food and it wasn’t busy a member of staff finally came over and said have you had your food yet to which I answered no and we have missed our train.
Within 1 minute the food arrived and was cold which suggests to me it had been sitting in the kitchen and was forgotten about. 2 of us had the Chicken strip meals, We tested the Chicken strips but they were cold and the chips tasted like they had been cooked in old oil. Also my sons partner had an odd chicken strip which we found out later that it had been mixed up with youngest sons meal as he had an odd strip too.
My eldest son had the burger which was bone dry that you couldn’t swallow it.
My youngest son had the 3 plates. The pizza wasn’t cooked and the Nachos had no cheese on. He also had the chicken strips but they were cold again and also had an odd one.
We was never once asked if everything was ok so we left the food and up and left.
I eat in Weathespoons a fair bit and has always been pretty good. But on this occasion it was really, really awful.
I am not sure what went on in the kitchen but I feel our meals were probably sitting under the lights for 15/20 minutes before they realised it was there. By that time it wasn’t edible. It was such a shame as we had a lovely day in London but this just took the shine off it as we were all hungry and too miss our train and wait an hour for another just wasn’t worth it one bit.”
“Went to Square Sail.Brayford.Lincoln.yesterday lunchtime with my husband and two grandchildren. When we went to
place our order we were told they had no fish, burgers etc.
because there had been no delivery that day.. due I was told
to a shortage of drivers. I feel this problem is because many
drivers have returned to their own countries because of
Brexit.
Hope Timothy Martin is happy now that his vote for Brexit
is impinging on his business....
We were very unhappy with the situation in Wetherspoons and had to leave and try and find somewhere else to eat.”
“Went to Malvern Weatherspoons on Tuesday 3TH August at 8 pm ,asked for menu, asked waiter what is still available to order-answer was we have everything,on line limited order was showing, went to see waiters by the bar and asked what I can still possible order ,what ever I have asked-they run out of it,finally I have cancelled it all ,paid for my drinks and left.Very interesting pub, second time in 2 months I am walking out unserved .”
“The service in JD Wetherspoons 'Ivor Davies' has been appalling. The staff are slow and disinterested with customer concerns. The automated system is not fit for purpose and has undermined what once was a friendly local pub. They leave you unattended for a long time, forget orders, input them incorrectly or simply forget to ask. I sat at my table for 40 minutes waiting for a cup for my refill. Nobody bothered to ask if I was okay and they blatantly ignored me when I tried to get their attention. An adjacent table promptly left due to the service being so slow and because the manager argued back about the service. This was all very public and left a bitter taste. I don't think that the app is a good idea; technology has a habit of going wrong and since JD have tried to implement it, the service has been shocking. Needless to say I'm not happy and I would urge people to steer well clear unless you're willing to spend an hour without anybody taking your order or being polite.”
“foley arms Great malvern
food was absolutely disgusting! cold and burnt, not edible and a really long wait, Terrible service staff walking round looking angry and miserable making you feel uncomfortable, disappointing as we normally like wetherspoons it's just this particular one that's always bad”
“Dont go to Poole Quay Weatherspoons.we were asked 4 times if my son could show I.D. Yes once but not 5 times. Were then told not to vape OUTSIDE. My grandaughter was accused of drinking and she wasnt. The manager was complete idiot and didnt have clue about licenceing laws. Our waitress should be sacked. No customer care completely rude and then had the audacity to go and discuss the situation with her regular customers. Would never go back there they made us feel like criminals. Awful place.”
“The disrespect that I received today in spoons was outrageous. I felt targeted by one of the waitresses
Who repeatedly pointed at me every time I walked past the bar or whenever she came upstairs on the balcony”
“Visited the Prince of Wales in Cardiff and on the back of it will never go to a Weatherspoon again. Rude, no customer service, no management. On their web page it mentions meet and exceed customers expectations. I feel staff training is needed because you have failed on so many levels. I am so angry I can hardly write.”
“Love every Wetherspoon we go into up and down the UK. Breakfast, refreshment in beer garden when available then back for evening meal. Good for the pocket as well. Wonderful value.”
“My self my sister 2 young nieces and my daughter visited Exeter st David’s for 1 night we found the imperial pub and was happy thinking after over 3 hours travelling we could feed the children rather quickly and could get back to our hotel at a reasonable time to get the children in bed. The security staff were fab and helpful and found us a quiet area to sit at with the children as it was very busy. We sat down placed our orders at the same time but paid separate. My sisters order came rather quick but wasn’t very warm seemed it was maybe chucked in a microwave. After 5 minutes a member of staff came and asked what was missing from our table as they have a big ticket but can’t remember what was sent out. So I gave them my order number and was told it would be just a couple of minutes. 30minutes later myself and my daughter still had no food and we were no longer able to eat as a family with my sister and nieces as their meal was already almost cold when it came so they couldn’t leave it longer to wait for mine. I waited another 5-10 mins and went found a member of staff and asked what’s happened. I was then told 2 minutes the chef can Chuck it together (I assumed this meant that’s how long would take to warm it in the microwave) so I asked for a refund so we could leave and get the children to the hotel to bed but this meant myself and my 8 year old left without having dinner. My drinks came from my order (after 30mins) but no food and my sisters food came but no drinks.”
“Abraham Darby in Merry Hill has gone down hill. Staff rude and ignorant, look at you like your wasting their time when asked for help. Only came in for coffee & give 1 hour slot. Dirty cups, took 3 tries to get clean cups. Would not recommend this pub for bad, slow service. Ignorant, ill mannered staff.”
“Visited The Imperial in Exeter yesterday lunchtime . We ordered drinks promptly but had to wait 40 minutes for the drinks to be delivered to the table. In the meantime whilst we were waiting we ordered food on line. The food delivery time was quite normal when we ordered the food we ordered a non alcoholic drink. Although the food arrived within a reasonable time the non alcoholic drink arrived after we had finished our meal. The explanation given by the young waiter was that they were overwhelmed with orders from the students who were sitting outside in the original car park. Clearly not enough staff on duty. The majority of the car park spaces have been taken up with tables & canopies. No disabled parking spaces ! Absolutely disgraceful service. Never again !”
“Plimsoll Line at Redcar.
Offensive nasty member off staff bullying and being abusive to disabled customer who was attending with a carer.
Also member of staff dressed more like it was a strip bar than a pub. Kids were present and when she was walking around everything could be seen as her 3 inch skirt was riding up, transparent tights on, nothing left to the imagination!”
“Went to my local Wetherspoons in Milton Keynes.
We go to this pub a lot and on the last few times we’ve had breakfast it’s been cold and had items missing from the breakfast. Today 12/12/20 our breakfast again was cold even though there was maybe 30 people in the pub and went had to send it back twice. We then noticed my other half’s breakfast was missing hash browns.
I love Wetherspoons but if the standards are going to slip then I’ll go elsewhere.”
“Went into my local spoons with a friend both wearing our masks, sat down as it was table service. 2 women regularly approached the bar to talk to staff neither of which were wearing masks
Staff ignored this as the were from a specific community type. No prizes for guessing which one !! Reverse discrimination I feel!!! I have not mentioned which one as I will probably get barred for bringing this to your attention. I doubt I will be returning in the forseeable future anyway. Customer service was good as ever but have given it 1 star for the above reason.”
“Visited 2 bars in Maidstone , covid service nill
Staff would not do table service on terrace
I smoke and do not want to order drinks inside only to be sat outside.”
“Trent Bridge In, Nottingham. We called in here whilst the car was in the garage down the road. Myself and my partner both work in the trade, so are more than sympathetic with staff when it comes to customers attitudes against government restrictions. As we sat in the area near the door (with our delicious small plates!) we heard one lady kick off about not being able to sit with her friends who was calmly and persistently talked down to coincide with guidelines, and another man who was disgustingly rude and aggressive towards a young man, who we believed to be a supervisor, at the door as he explained the new rules. It is such a difficult and testing job at the moment which unfortunately, is not at all helped by the arrogance and audacity of customers who seem to feel they are above the law and those who have to in force these rules in pubs. We were so impressed with the young man who calmly explained the ‘gentleman’ wasn’t welcome after his attitude towards staff, explaining that he was only doing his job. Through solidarity towards the trade we almost felt like standing up and applauding him! Keep on keeping on guys, you’re doing great- thank you for keeping us safe.”
“Be very careful in Wetherspoons now.. If you pay by contactless card, they do not have a mobile payment machine only the static ones at the bar. My card was taken off me by staff and used to take payment at the bar.. I then realised that my card number AND the 3 digit pin number could be written down by ANYONE and they could have used it for fraud.... I will never give them my card EVER AGAIN.”
