WARNING!!! READ TILL END!!! DO NOT SELL ON TAKEALOT!!! WISH I COULD PICK NO STAR as they don't even deserve one star!!! Or for that matter, Don't even buy from them. Rather contact the supplier directly. If you think ordering from them and receiving terrible service is bad, then you can't even begin to imagine what headaches the Seller part of Takealot will give you! Just getting your stock to the warehouse is a hassle and NO One in the TAL departments know what is going on. I had to ask an external Courier company what was going on to eventually get my stock to their DC's. And don't think that their big and confusing user guide that they make you study is any help, because it is out dated and when you phone the customer service line, they don't even know what to do or what is in the manual themselves. The hoops you have to jump through and the amount of plastic that you have to use to ship with them is terrifying. I felt so guilty for all the plastic as we pride our selves in using safer products for the environment when we personally ship to customers. The warehouses are constantly loosing our items and don't think they tell you this. We only have 8 products we stock with them and I feel for the people who sell more items. If I don't watch my stock like a hawk, then we would never know. Then you have to go through a stock discrepancy process that take days to finally hear that your stock is indeed missing. Then they still make you pay the fulfillment fee and success fee as if it were shipped to a client. So even though they pay for the missing or broken stock, it is still not reaching customers. This is a weekly scenario now. We have only been selling with them for 4 months now. And it gets worse. Their stock reports don't reflect correctly with the sales and the actual stock items you have jump around with NO explanation. For example, if you shipped shipped 5 items to TAL and all of a sudden it shows you have 10 and they make you pay storage fees for these items that magically appeared in your Seller portal. There seems to be NO communication or order within this company. Maybe when they started, but now that they have made their money, they DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE SMALL BUSSINESS or about keeping high standards. The customer service staff are basically just there to hear us complain. They cannot do anything to help you has it gets escalated to the person in charge, and don't think you get to speak to "These" people. And if you do not hound them EVERY day, your problems are forgotten or pushed aside. If you were to look at my phone bill and my emails, it is JUST Takealot. Every single part of dealing with selling with Takealot from getting stock to them and their "Daily Deals", to just plane recon of my stock has given me headaches and sleepless nights. And you would hope that the money you make from selling with them is worth it....NOT ONE BIT! I am just waiting for them to find more of my missing stock, then I AM PULLING Everything OUT!!! And please do understand. Every issue I mentioned hear and the ones I didn't I have taken up with TAL directly. I am yet to be contacted by the manager or person in charge of these issues as again, and I quote "They do not speak to the sellers directly." NOW THAT IS TERRIBLE SERVICE! I feel everyone has a right to know. If this was a one time thing I wouldn't even be here typing this review.

On order number 87097059...Just the worst experience when you deal with Takealot.com when they sell a product which is not in their stores. Then they just become a product hosting platform and middle-man who takes no real ownership of the original contract of sale between the client and Takealot.com. I purchased a product through them which was to be delivered to me by Thursday 13 May (Waiting 2 weeks for the delivery date). Thursday 13 May came and went with NO feedback from Takealot.com. I started an extremely tedious process of trying to establish where my delivery was and what was happening. It became clear immediately that the package was not on its way to me as it was not delivered to Takealot.com by their supplier. It seemed I was not going to get the items I paid for and was waiting for for 2 weeks. I asked for my money to be refunded to me so that I could urgently source the product somewhere else with the same money. The first person stated they would process the credit after which I could request a refund. By Saturday, when nothing happened I called in again (this being my 3rd call) when I was informed that the person that stated they would process the credit, never did it. Then the new person was going to process the credit. And, we continue. Monday 17 I made contact again, this time Ingrid told me, in writing, to give her until the end of Monday 17 May to process the credit, which I believed she would do and gave the opportunity. Then came Tuesday 18 May, still no credit, still no refund. And here we are, no product, no credit, no refund, nobody taking ownership of the matter on Takealot.com's side. Just empty promises. I get this idea that Takealot.com is playing for time to either see if the product gets delivered to me before the credit/refund is processed OR, that I would change my mind to take the refund at the time the credit is processed so as to possibly spend the credit with Takealot. Whatever their modus operandi, it is annoying as hell to actually make contact with numerous people at Takealot.com and never being able to get any help from someone that sees it through to the end.

As per Anonymous below, I too am a supplier, they have done the same to me and you just cannot get anything sorted out, it is a month now, STILL NO ASSISTANCE, no matter how much you try, as I result of them not allowing me to send replenishment stock, my sales have dropped dramatically and of course, customers will not be able to buy what they want. Here is a saying a lot of people are saying TAKE A LOT HAS LOST THE PLOT".

I have ordered a golf hitting practice net over a month ago and paid for it. I have not received my delivery. I spoke to three different people at Take a Lot and send emails, they all promised to assist me with my complaint but to date no feedback or my parcel. This morning I decided to cancel my order. I bought shoes from Takealot. When it arrived it was too small despite being my wife's size. I asked for them to replace it with a size4. The consultant insisted there is no stock despite me being able to order it. Even their Facebook people confirmed there is stock. Yet they insist to refund me. I have been dealing with Nosive Daniso and she is totally ignoring my complaint to here as she is not even acknowledging it, but rather making excuses. They are incompetent and arrogant. Takealot you are disgusting. I will never buy from you again and will blast you all over social media!

I bought heater from takealot on the 26 April 2021. When i received it,the box looked old,and bent,when i got hom i found that it was second hand item. I returned it and they promised to give me refund within 3 day and now is day 5. They have worst service lately,they dont even answer email.

Do not purchase from them! I got a faulty dash cam from them, returned it but no refund! Dishonest. Stay away from takealot!

I bought a 210cm-tripod-selfie-ring-light for R318 they didn't charge delivery fee I was happy to hear, but guess what few days after I ordered DHL asked me to pay tax and import duties of R707 imagine. Will never order from take a lot again. They are very dishonest they could have been transparent with all costs involved now I have to pay 100% more than the price I paid.

They used to be fantastic, but their client service is none existent now. They threw my package over a 6 foot fence when nobody was home (The package wasn't scheduled to be delivered and there was no communication) They take a week to reply to an email, if they bother to reply at all.

I am a seller on Take a Lot, we haven't been able to send goods to sell for a month now. Their warehouse is in disarray. Hi Amazon where are you, we need you to open up in South Africa

Many words describe takealot and its employees. USELESS, RUDE, INCOMPETENT, LAZY and the list goes on. Never helpful and forever blaming the "system" for not being able to help us customers. But please takealot tell us again how "customer satisfaction is a priority" because so far you have dissatisfied almost all of South-Africa

Automated system is completely unprofessional, takealot make promises that the parcel will be delivered before 17:00pm, I received it at 21:30pm, after opening the parcel I found that the weed trimmer bull bar bracket is broken (packaging was also damaged), I had to go and Google for there contact details because it's not available on the takealot app (only automated nonsense), I spent too much on the item already then I still had to be placed on hold and listen to a bunch of adds while waiting, I decided to make a bracket myself out of fibreglass because this transaction already caused me two weeks of work and a further two to three weeks is not worth it, this is unprofessional and considered terrible business, if there was a -5 star rating I'll give it a -3, this rating is more suited just because a broken parcel actually found it's way to its destination and because this was a complete waste of R3000.

I ordered a blood pressure monitor urgently needed by my wife. On its arrival at the East London depot we could not access the QR code and the attendant would not release it even with my proven I.D. There is no customer care phone no. on their website, you have to Google the company to find it. After waiting an eternity on the phone the first attendant promised to phone me back...she did not! The second attendant promised that the first would phone me back and she did not A third attendant emailed with a totally irrelevant question. This is so pathetic when all the while I could simply pick up my parcel with an I.d. Looks like Takealot is trying to be too smart with its "QR" codes but is failing miserably to apply pure logic, human courtesy and honesty!

Takealot order placed more than two weeks ago for a Canon printer. Delivered 4 days later without cartridges. Took takealot 2 days and many phone calls later to ask that I log a return. I lodgged a return and opted for depot drop off which I did. Many more emails and phone calls later and takealot have finally realized that the printer is still at the depot. Surprise I have to wait for collection a week and a half after I dropped it off for the printer to be collected then checked then then then a replacement sent. Really. Who are they kidding. A good way to loose customers. No communication

This is unacceptable, I have contacted TakeAlot LAST WEEK MONDAY About this issue of them delivering thing I did not order and not deliver anything of what I actually ordered and TakeAlot refuses to do anything about the mistake THEY HAVE MADE. You then force the customer to run after you. This is not how you conduct business. I would accept your apologies, but it's only lies, all I got from you lot the last week is apologies with no action at all
