I wanted a particular Cube Mountain bike but could not get it anywhere. Tried Winstanleys on line and they had one in correct size at a good price. After reading some poor reviews I was a bit apprehensive. Glad I took the chance. Bike was shipped quickly and arrived in perfect condition and was very easy to put together. Delivery to Ireland was good what with Covid and Christmas. Absolutely Delighted !

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS SHOP, unless you're prepared to be very disappointed. My daughter's bike for her Christmas present arrived with the gears so damaged it is unrideable. The front mudguard is missing and the frame is scratched. There was also a complaint letter in the box from a previous customer rejecting the bike meaning they have sent me a damaged customer return. Don't expect to be able to call them as they don't answer, or get any response via email. I have had to raise a Paypal dispute to try to get a refund whilst trying to source a replacement.

I am reading the rest of these reviews now and feel sick in the out of my stomach. I ordered and paid for an Orbea bike on Nov 7th and I am still waiting for delivery. I am going to have a very disappointed little boy on Christmas morning as not in a position to purchase an alternative. No phone lines to call and only one of my emails have been responded to, no communication since December 3rd when I was told that their purchasing team would be in contact soon. I have been very patient, soon to me would be a few days. Not sure what else I can do apart from ring trading standards.

one word is ..... USELESS , take your money and if you have a problem don't want to know... these are that bad they cut off their phone line so you can't complain .... I have had nothing but problems so much so had to buy a new motor for my bike as this shower of schitt won't help .... you have been warned

Exactly the same as another poster called Jon below. I really do dislike leaving any bad reviews but I have tried and tried and tried to get Winstanley Bikes to respond to my missing bike stand by email and NO there is no reply hiding in junk - DPD claimed they attempted delivery but I was in and the tracking says Your parcel is on its way back to Winstanleys Bikes. WB have set this to be returned to them on first failed delivery - no re-attempts (even though I was IN!) Now I am 165 pounds out of pocket with no Xmas present in sight and WB cant even reply. I have also disputed with Paypal and they dont even respond to that, I tried leaving a comment on their FB page in their old previous post, nothing, I tried everything. Their telephone number has an automated reply which says they are not answering any calls to deal with the email! Its such a shame as I thought they were good before but this has completely put me off ever using them again. If you want something in time for Xmas, this company may be tricky. Its not acceptable to go quiet on your customers after you take their money. I dont want to hear Covid blah blah - there's no excuse for lack of communication - employ more staff as a bike shop you know you will have an increase at this time of year, stop causing lasting damage to your own reputation.

Great service. Pre ordered a bike. Emailed company and the expected delivery was too late for the present, Winstanleys refunded our pay pal immediately. Cant fault the response.

We expected our delivery yesterday and waited in all day. DPD have now returned back to sender but we can’t get hold of Winstanleys Bikes ? They are too busy to answer the phones but how do you get hold of them ? Very frustrating and bad customer service.

Ordered my sons bike on Saturday night and it got delivered Tuesday. Brilliant service, some bad comments but I really can't complain. Box looked a bit shabby but the bike is 100% perfect.

Ordered a stock bike, never got any update in time, emailed and no response, phone line is disconnected. Received a phone call from disconnected number only after I raised a Paypal case, offering to send bike. Contacted again but heard nothing back on order. Will have no choice but to claim through paypal. If I'd read the reviews I'd never had ordered, buyer beware, I don't suspect they will be tradaing much longer if this is how they do business in my honest opinion.

Was concerned after reading reviews, and although we didn’t hear about the bikes we’d ordered for a while, they were eventually dispatched and arrived in perfect condition. I have no complaints.

I put an order for a bike rack for my panniers. They took the money and promised nxt day delivery. It’s been a week and despite numerous phone calls and emails there is no reply. I contacted the DPD courier who said to my shocking surprise that they never received a parcel and I’ve been provided with a fake tracking number. It’s no excuse when you take someone’s money you need to take responsibility to deliver. Hugely disappointed. Zero customer service and criminal behaviour.

Ordered 2 bikes for my twin boys for Christmas on Sunday 22nd Nov, received an email from them to say they would be delivered on 23rd Nov....nothing turned up. I tried to email them 3 times, but no response. Tried their phone and the line is now dead. I then received a txt confirmation from DPD to say the delivery would be today, it was but one 1 bike. They have confiermd that DPD only gave them i bike, even though they can see it should have been 2 on the order. Tried to email them today, no response as yet

Listed tyres as in stock. So i ordered online. They weren't in stock and they informed me days later. They didn't offer me refund even though this put my in a situation as inwas buying these for someone else. They said they would be in by 20th and dispatched 48hr delivery. 24th now and still no tyres or dispatch email. Dont advertise items you dont have it stock and then make up wooly stories just to keep the sale!!! Just be honest from the start. Will not be using Winstanleys again!

Totally disappointed in this company. Ordered a bike and was told it had been dispatched. It failed to arrive so I tried to contact them, but their phones had a message that they are not answering due to Covid-19 (and it was not a lockdown time). So tried emailling but no response after 5 days so tried again marking it urgent and they finally replied. They claimed the courier had lost it, but the courier said they had never received it. They had sold out of the item and offered no assistance in obtaining a replacement or any compensation. The bike was for my son's birthday and with all the delays in response I am unable to get him a bike anywhere in time and he will be totally devastated when I have nothing for him. I would not use them again.

This company has been bad at every step. Bought the item to later find out it wasn’t in stock so had to wait. Made a mistake with the email address I registered. Contacted them and they told me their system wouldn’t let them change the email address so for updates just contact them. Waited about 2 weeks then contacted them 3 times over a week and got no answer. Rang them and the recorded message states they aren’t taking calls so they can prioritise answering emails. Emailed a fourth time and stated that if I didn't get a reply I’d request the money back from my cc. They replied stating I had refused delivery. Told them my wife works from home, I have a front security camera and ring doorbell and told them the courier hadn’t come to my house. I asked them what address they had on file and they gave me a complete wrong address that is about 100 miles from me....and not remotely similar. For one thing don’t expect them to adhere to data protection as they shared this other address with me and two how could they get it so wrong? I told them I still wanted the bike as my daughters birthday was quickly approaching so to resend. I was told that they had sold the bike to someone else. Gave them 3 days to respond with a satisfactory outcome or I would review them on my experience. No reply. They clearly don’t care about customer satisfaction and they are the most disorganised and unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. If I could give them 0 stars I would. There’s so many other good companies out there so AVOID Winstanley Bikes.

Bought a helmet from Winstanleys bikes in Wigan. It fit but the plastic bits in it cut into my ears. Contacted them and told them this so they said send it back for a refund and we’ll pay the postage. So, sent it back and then they decided they wouldn’t pay the postage (after I’d sent it) because it officially defective, before they’d actually received it!!! Even though I’d explained clearly what was wrong with it and they confirmed they’d pay the postage. It’s not a lot of money but the principle annoys me. I’d advise anyone to stay away from Winstanleys if you expect a decent level of customer service. I can’t imagine what would happen if you needed proper service. I’m happy to send anyone that asks the email exchange.

PLEASE AVOID WINSTANLEYS. They dont care and just want to take your order! Id give 0/5 if it was possible. Bike dispatch was nearly 3 weeks when advertised as 3-5 days. Of course, they blamed Covid! You cant get in touch by phone, everything via email. Bike arrived and gears are not set up correctly. Throws chain off the top ring and doesnt select bottom ring! Customer service suggestion - "go on youtube to see how to set your gears" If you cant meet the demand then stop giving people such a terrible service and stop taking new orders!!!!

Ordered a bike that was in stock with an advertised dispatch of 3-5 days. 10 days later and still waiting for the bike. Phones have a recorded message diverting to email. Waiting 4 days so far for a response to my email. Nothing...

I waited two months for a bike helmet. At the end of two months I gave up and asked for a refund. I will never use this company.
