Avoid these people like the plague. They take your money and do not provide the service specified in their contract with you. On 12th March 2015 I took out a Domestic Appliance Service contract with 247 Home Rescue – Policy Number WS0055355. This contract is, in essence, insurance with monthly payments against the breakdown of specified home appliances. However, I reported a fault in my American Fridge/Freezer to them and they sent an engineer to repair it on 14th April. (This was over three weeks after I reported the problem). He said the machine was beyond repair and that we would be told what action would be taken and that when this happened appliances were either replaced or a contribution to a replacement was made. This is totally in line with the agreement I have with 24/7. However, on 18th April we were told that there would be no cover or payment on this machine because we had made previous claims! There is no mention of any restriction like this in our contract with 24/7 and neither have we been given any other notice of it. By sending an engineer to repair the appliance 24/7 had accepted that the appliance was covered. The contract clearly says that machines will be repaired, replaced or a contribution to replacement will be made if a repair cannot be made. Even after their refusal to cover my machine 24/7 continued to make deductions from the standing order set up on my account until I realised this and stopped the standing order. They refuse to respond to emails, telephone calls or letters. I have made a small claims court against them and intend to chase them up where I can.

We had a sales call from this "company". We were with British Gas at the time. We were told they provided an identical cover for the fraction of the cost. The savings were welcome but the service, or lack of, went hand in hand. If I was nice, I would say that we were mis-sold the service and maintenance contract, but my thoughts are we were LIED to. When we had a problem, they gave excuses why they couldn't repair the boiler, but depending on WHO you speak to, the excuses changes. The latest is the boiler cannot be repaired as it is too old (12 years, we've recently looked it up), so we employed a Gas Safe Engineer to do the repair. He couldn't understand why repair wasn't carried out as parts are readily available and the general condition is in good working order (statement from the engineer). Setting aside not getting calls back when they said they would, lying saying calls have been made when they haven't (yes, they were caught out in one instance as admitted by the contractor) as well as having no missed calls on mobile and not having the boiler serviced as they are OBLIGED to do within a year of the contract, the "service" is non-existent. On a positive note, it's always good to hear the different excuses they come back with. It's comical. Needless to say, we're not renewing as I felt we were conned. Enter a contract with this "company" at your peril!

I have only been a customer of 24/7 Home Rescue since 14 Dec 2015 and the service is totally absurd. I originally agreed to their boiler/radiator cover due the price £6 per month and annual service. Only contacted them on the 27th Jan 2016 to check when I was due to have an annual service the operative advised I was not covered for an annual service!!!!!! she apologised for the misleading information and advised I would have to pay a further £2 per month for this service and an engineer would call me in the next 48 hrs. I did not receive any calls so on Tues 2nd Feb 2016 I called another operative advised that the engineer would not call out for up-to 4 weeks!!!!!!!!!! Again this was completely at odds with the earlier operative's advice! I then advised that my radiators were cold upstairs and made a further request for an engineer again I was told this operative did not deal with this and referred to the claims dept I asked to be put through and the operative advised the "button" on her phone to do this was not working!!!!!!!!!! so I would have to call back!!!!!!!!! I called back 5 mins later and was put through to the claims dept to request an engineer but this operative asked me if I had "bleed" my radiators I replied I had but it the radiators remained cold, the operative then asked if I had "balanced" my radiators! I replied no and stated this was why I wanted an engineer and operative stated I could not be given an engineer's appointment for this and would have to fix it myself. I questioned why I had agreed to pay for the services (or lack of) from his company I just hung up in disgust and felt that there was/is no real service available unless your boiler to about to blow up and radiators had fell of the wall in some disaster. I am sorry to say my experience with this company has not been a pleasant and would warn others to read the reviews and check the small print.

Avoid at all costs. I feel conned. i transferred a boiler cover policy from British Gas after seeing a competitive price. I signed up no excess unlimited cover. My boiler broke down this weekend and it took 6 calls to get an engineer out. They said it was beyond economic repair as a Ferolli make. However 247 refused to adhere to their terms and said they would not contribute towards new boiler as I was still a 'new customer' . When challenged they said it was at 'their discretion'. They would not enter into any further discussion. I have checked terms again and no mention of any minimum contract before a claim.

I have faced multiple issues since I joined on 13th October 2015. Some concerns the 247 contact centre and others concern one of the companies contracted-out plumbing service companies “Active Response”. Both are covered below separately. My issues with 247 include: • They are quick to get the service in so that it makes it too expensive to leave once the service has been carried out. £120 cancellation fee. • The staff are all friendly and helpful when you sign up or even when you want to leave, but once signed up they use the term “This is the process” and the customer service goes downhill. No one ever came back to me, I always had to ring them. • Actually getting stuff done, you are reliant on the contracted-out plumbing service companies in my case “Active Response”, as 247 staff don’t appear to have any influence • They failed their own SLA and ignored me when I pointed this out • Auto-renewal with no remainder My issues with “Active Response includes: • Not turning up in the slots allocated • Not contacting us either to say they will be late or to re-arrange • Not bothering to answer their phone messages • And biggest concern is if we do get an emergency, we are going to be reliant on probably this company to turn up and do the work. I am not very hopeful.

Engineer called and said he THOUGHT he knew what was wrong with cooker, but spare part would take about a week. He rang after 5 days to ask if I could help him identify spare part. He then reported to 247 that parts were not available. THEY ARE AVAILABLE!!! Absolute rip off. They took my £85 and are now refusing to repair. Have gone to Domestic Appliance Services who don't take any money until they can establish repair possible. 247 please note...........there are over 41,000 spare parts available for this cooker. I told you the make and model of cooker BEFORE booking a call. You are refusing to return £85....,,;;thanks......from an OAP with no money to spare.

I took a boiler cover with them in Sept. The company they recommended for the service failed to call me twice. I sent an email to Home Rescue to complain about it but never got any reply. I decided to call them and spoke to a guy who was apologetic and promised that someone would call me back to sort out the situation. It was about 2 weeks ago and I've never heard from anybody since. I have sent them a letter to cancel my contract as I don't want to be dealing with such incompetence in an emergency situation. It has to be one of the worst customer services I've ever experienced. I would recommend anybody to avoid this company

I feel really let down by this company. Despite the fact that I pay over £20 a month to them I have been told that they will not repair my tenants boiler because my tenant did not report the suspected fault within 24 hours. Read the small print very carefully. The 24 hour rule is tucked away on page eight of the contract yet on page one it clearly states that I am covered for boiler breakdown. I now have a tenant without heating and I am in the position of having to pay an engineer to come out to look at this boiler that I thought was covered by the insurance that I am paying each month. I do not recommend this company. I feel cheated by them.
