Shocking service, I rang 2 and a half hours ago to report my breakdown, just rang them back to be told by a very unconcerned lady that the job hadn't even been allocated, I explained that since my first call my wife has taken ill at home and I need to get to her, she told me no patrols are available and to leave my stranded car make my own way home . Due for renewal this April,,,, No chance.

My tyre popped on the motorway and they class it as an “emergency” as I have broken down in a dangerous location and eta was 45 mins,I call 45 mins later and they said they are on their way....it is now an hour an a half and still nothing,call again and they then say Iv been Mis informed and they will be with me in another 90 mins....90 mins have passed and still nothing....I wonder what they class as an emergency

Refunds: Awful service - I have now been waiting 30 days for a refund, and I am told a different excuse everytime. The latest is that their process means that when you send them an email (and don't worry I have called countless times too) it takes FIVE days for them to acknowledge the email, and a further THIRTY days to reply to email. Yes, you heard it - THIRTY FIVE days to reply to am email. Then FOURTEEN days to receive the refund. That's FORTY NINE days (which I'm also not holding out any hope on). Staggeringly awful infrastructure, terrible processes, and customer service agents who make up to policy 'on the spot' (this was the latest set of proccesses I was told, I have been told two others beforehand noteably that my refend would take up to 14 days initially)

It is now 20 hours !!! not even a call from them. Can you believe this??? They should be taken to court. Thank God, I managed to drive my car back home despite the smoke that was coming from the rear wheel.

My 79 year old dad waited for 6 hours for a breakdown vehicle to arrive! When it got to almost 12 midnight my brother went to pick him up. Ironically the RAC turned up as they were leaving. Terrible service!

Absolutley discusted! My 79 years old Dad broke down and waited 3 hours in a country lane, in the dark, receiving numerous messages saying someone was on their way! After 3 hours, at gone 11pm, my brother drove to pick up my dad, who had to return with the worry that he would have to get back to his car the following day, and wait again! He is 80 this week and should be looking forward to his party, not being stressed by you lot! You are happy to take his money! I am so angry! He doesnt deserve this terrible service! Discusted and will give very poor veiws on whatever site I can!

Rac are the worst company to have key replace with they have a third party SORTER PS worst customer service ever the manager is soo rude and doesn’t want to pay for the claim I asked for the terms and conditions he put phone down on me several times. WORST EVER.

Worst company ever I had key replace on my policy and when I lost my keys I called rac and they put me through a third party they wanted my passport driving licence insurance details and V5 when I asked them why they said as they need to know who I am so I told them I would send them my V5 and driving licence they wouldn’t accept the claim so I called RAC and asked for an explanation and they just said it’s third party and that’s how they work I then told rac that I don’t pay them for the cover I pay rac and they didn’t know what to say it doesn’t state any where on the terms and conditions that I have to provide with passport and insurance details money making SCAM people be aware they take your money and not pay you.

My Daughter took me out to day, car had a problem so contacted you, explained she had a dlderly mum in the car with disability told it would be a wait of 3 hours I got a taxie home 2 hours after in excruciating pain and cold, my daughter had to wait another hour and a half not a service avoid.

I'm not even with them but my girlfriend has currently been waiting 6-7 hours for someone to be on their way. Good job she wasn't far from her parents place and not on her own on some major road. Will never give them my money after skimming through so many reviews of bad management and negligence towards customers.

My Wife's car broke down at 6pm last night. Lone female and car in a dangerous position she expected a rapid response. Many lies from the RAC and frantic telephone calls for updates later and they finally got a recovery truck to her at 11.10pm! She was only 2 miles from the M25! They could have got a van from Newcastle to her faster! Disgusting, incompetent morons.

Discussed that RAC charge £250 to come out to you if you accidentally but in the wrong fuel, know it is absolutely my own fault but £250, if I’d of been told the cost of the call out I would of call another company that only charges £100, come on rac this is day light robbery.

Desperately bad service 6hours wait for a call out on the M25 Broke down at 5.30 pm, had to be towed to a safe place where I booked the breakdown service which was supposed to come within 3 hours, only it took 6. Only for home at 3am!

The RAC are dreadful in every way. Only now we are posting reviews so they reply we standard “contact us to discuss”. None sense they have spent 6 months ignoring us. Shambles. Family membership for years, never needed them, until last year. My wife’s car broke down, engineer eventually turned up, couldn’t fix. Low loader turned up, eventually. My wife was left in dark for hours alone. Once the car was back home, the car was fixed by pulling 2 connectors together. We complained, wanted to leave RAC since unreliable, 50£ refund. I have written several letters and email, and I get NO RESPONSE. NONE. Upon renewal I rang and asked if they’d try to renew. I also asked why I was getting no reply, and he said he’d look into it. NO REPLY still. Dreadful organisation, never again. We signed up with the AA 6 months before the RAC ended.

My sister broke down today at Livingston at 1pm and it is now nearly 8.30pm and now at the second service station and not expected to be home until 10pm !!!! At least ... they use contractors and they can only you drive you to the nearest services ... they are happy to leave a single lady with an illness on her own ... also more than once when she called she got through to agents working at home .. dog barking ... kids screaming ... they use a company called sensee ... how unprofessional ... this company is shocking and have no customer care what so ever ....

******BEWARE of UNAUTHORISED CHARGES FROM RAC************** I do not have a policy with the RAC yet charges have appeared on my bank Statement to them. RAC staff won’t refund the unauthorised charges and won’t even discuss this as I have no policy AND WONT EVEN GIVE THEIR NAME!!!. #RACcardfraud

I have been a member since 1996 and have called the RAC twice in the time. I had a fault with my vehicle and I knew what was wrong. As a single female I was to be left sitting in freezing temperatures on a country road for six hours nad i would have been dark. This was not because of the weather conditions. I had to keep phoning because they would not update me. The updates I received varied from 6 hours to 90 minutes. A recovery person was in the area and I was to be next but someone else was taken before me. I eventually hired a tow truck myself. Single females beware!
