Currently over 4.5 hours waiting for patrol vehicle to arrive. When I first logged the breakdown I was told within 45-60 mins. I am Paying for the premium business breakdown cover which seems to not mean ANYTHING. Called the help desk multiple times over the past few hours to be told every time the patrol vehicle is on route and will be maximum 15 minutes. 1, 2, 3, 4 hours gone by and still not arrived only to be told the time has been pushed back by a hour every time. Awful service my advise is do not use RAC

Daughter with grandson broke down on a junction, contacted the RAC for assistance ,only to be told they could not attend as the carcwas on a junction,to call the emergency services. She is left very distressed and vulnerable.

My car of just a few weeks ownership broke down last night. Brakes stuck on on Land Rover Discovery 4. I phoned the RAC knowing I had an all singing all dancing policy. I have been a member for well over 20 years and only used them once. Firstly did not have internet due to adverse weather, probably, and went round in circles on the phone. Told to phone the following day, 'sorry, what'. You will have to phone back tomorrow. I was calm and explained my disabled wife needed to get home for her medication. 'Ahhhh, well we won't come out because you have no tax so we can't help'. Not sure where he was getting this from but fully insured with new MOT and could not take car without road tax. Looking at reviews, I cant see me getting any refund but will be making a stand legally. Totally outrageous. Quick enough to take money with no warning with massive hikes in price. This can only be settled in court by the looks of things . Luckily a local company came to my rescue for just over 20% of the cost of my RAC Policy. I would seriously question their ethics and are taking large amounts of peoples money and then finding any excuse not to attend. I would describe the service as refused to provide a service with anything I said falling on deaf ears with no regard for customers welfare or even considering reasonable behaviour. I renewed my policy thinking that in any eventuality we could get home or stay in a hotel. I probably would find it hard to believe the other reviews if this did not happen to me. It amounts to fraud/deception, taking money for a service and then not providing that service. It also brings into question the data protection act with regards criminal offences of acting on information from data that is not correct. A registered post letter of complaint along with an email has been sent and I await their response. I am asking for a full refund having received no service at all. I am also asking for all of the free cover I get from my bank and insurance company to be deducted from previous breakdown cover for the last 7 years.

Stay away!! It can't be worse. I've been waiting for 8 hours for the truck to be sent and they lie to me every hour that it's coming. I was left without water, without food and nobody cares!!

I am a member for RAC for more than 10 years. I would still like to use their insurance product but they make it harder for me to renew my policy online. So they stopped sending me bill where I can use the reference number to pay and since I couldn't pay and I forgot the date where my policy expired, my policy expired and I was forced to buy new policy at very inconvenient time. This is so frustrating even for someone who is willing to give them money and rarely do claims

Been trying to cancel my breakdown policy before they take the auto renew payment but all the phones are linked so can’t speak to a person or send e mail. I’ve even text to the hard of hearing section with a reply asking to phone. It’s disgraceful

I was with RAC for years however i broke down quite away from home and had to wait over 9 hours not at all good service My daughter has a motability car and her carer put in diesel in THE PETROL tank took Did not resolve issue and it was some days before was taken to dealership very poor service considering my daughter is a vulnerable adult I've give 1 star because I would not be able to write review it should be NO STARS AT ALL

This is the second time my daughter has had to use the RAC. The first time she pulled off the motorway so wasn't priority even though she was on her own in an unfamiliar area. She waited over 7 hours. Last night she was travelling on the m25 on her own, when at 8pm her tyre blew out. She was told she was priority because of where she was and was given an estimated time of 1 hour. After an hour she was given another estimated time of approximately another 2 hours. She cancelled and got an independent company to fix her car. Disgusting treatment that we pay for. Never again. Will be changing to a different breakdown company.

They should be a evil shame that rac treats disabled customers and Discriminate against disabled customers and provide bad evil service and rip off disabled customers and I would not recommend this evil rac and advice for any disabled customers Stay away from this Evil rac company

I have been with the RAC for 25 years , I was sent a renewal to start November 6th 2023 and the monthly payments had gone up from £34 odd a month to £47 odd a month , I have called them out once in a year . I phoned the RAC today , to ask why there was such a difference in the monthly repayments , I was told that everything has gone up , I asked if they could do something to reduce the payments . I was told by the person on the phone that he would reduce the payments to £36 odd a month with free onward travel and this price would stay the same next year , I was quite happy with that . The man I was speaking to said he would just check with is Manager , came back to me and his Manager would not authorise this . So I cancelled my subscription . Terrible customer service .

Broke down on the motorway and called them. Could not be clearer that I only joined to be taken back to my address. Said I was happy to pay for that. Agreed to join on the basis I would be recovered, told them to make a model of my car. Recovery driver gets their smoking cigarettes refuses to tow me anywhere. Proceeds to smoke and Stinking of cigarettes Ended up having to wait an hour just for him to tell me that he could not take me anywhere. do not join this company. They have very few recovery drivers and even worse customer support. Namely Alicja Skoczkowska the so called Customer Care Executive who took two months to reply to me. The refuse to refund me and are complete crooks. Hopefully this helps someone not join these absolute clowns

We were left today by a busy roadside for road for 9 hours. My daughter and my dog were with me. I called every hour and was told 3 mins wait. The car broke down at 12.30pm and was we were still waiting in the dark cold night at 8pm.thankfully two traffic control officers stayed with us and tried contacting the RAC numerous times but no one came or they did not even call a third party to help us. They officers helped us contact a third party to get us home. RAC you should not be in business! My daughter is under the urgent care of duty and you did not help at all you left us by a very busy roadside for 9 hours we had no food or water!! if it wasn't for the amazing traffic control officers compassion and care we would not have got home. 9 hours do NOT USE THIS COMPANY I AM SERIOUS THEY SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS. They don't deserve the one star.

I have been waiting patiently for two days since the breakdown of our van only to be told when i called richfords motors this evening to chase the pick up like i have done for two days and two nights, that’s when I was told the vehicle cannot be seen. She said that i should ring the police because the road has double yellow lines. i said i have this vehicle tracked and it has not moved. she won’t let me speak so i screamed out of frustration. she still won’t let me speak (i don't know how these people are making their way into such positions where they are trusted to deal with frustrated human beings.) I tried to explain to this lady to speak to the driver to look around the petrol station (at this point i gathered the vehicle was within the petrol station compound but by the road and very visible) instead of listening she allowed the driver drove away wasting everyone’s time. Mind you, i called them before finding out about this. No one cared to contact me to say they could not find the vehicle. This, i am not sure happed, i don’t think anyone went to pick up this vehicle. They told me i must speak to RAC to rebook the pickup. However, when i called the first time and spoke to a lady she asked me to hold on while she speak with the richfords motors. She came back with some story that the vehicle is with the police even though i have explained that the vehicle is still there and i had called the petrol station to confirm. The lady at the petrol station even told me that they need the van moving asap because they have a delivery in the morning and the van is in the way. That lady at RAC asked me to hold on the second time and then hung up on me. I rang richfords again and was told there is nothing they could do, that i must ring RAC again. I have been treated like i am insane. i feel insulted and very stressed. I have been understanding with the whole scenario because i understand the situation with the flood but this treatment from you and your contractor left me shocked and very disappointed. I have been with you guys for over 8 years now and this treatment goes to show me the kind of service you provide. I rang the second time and this time a gentleman called Mohamed picked up and was nice. He too was poisoned with the made-up and insane story of the van being towed by the police. not sure who hired this person in this richfords office. people saying things without fact. obviously says their level of education.

I have been waiting 9 hours for a breakdown technician. I have called 5 times for an update and told they would prioritise my case and ring back. Nothing has happened.The last message said they would be here 3 hours ago. This is beyond appalling.

The worst experience, twice in a year left for hours , gave up both times and paid fortune for a recovery truck instead. Both instances got call off an RAC partner, looking for me ......24 hours later. In very cold conditions. Hopeless

Reported a breakdown 6pm Sunday 15th October... it's now 7am Wednesday- and still no recovery. After a my clutch had failed on my van.. I was told a patrol would be with me within 5 hours (when first reported) I waited untill midnight and called in again and was told unfortunately we are unable to attend as we are very busy! And advised me to get a taxi home and we will attend between 1pm-9pm Tommorow. Midnight the following day- no-one arrived. Day 3- Tuesday.. I was told after i made numerous calls, that a tow truck (3rd party) would attend within 4 hours... (by 12pm) waited for them.. again no-one arrived. Called again that evening to was told the tow company arrived at 3pm and tried to call you 4 times! But I didn't answer. My phone does not take voicemails and my phone did not ring- not once. So I asked them to add another contact number to the job (two numbers) and could I have the 3rd party companies number and I will communicate with them directly- because I'm on day 3 and the garage is waiting for my van. The response I got from one call handler was "I can't do anymore!" And hung up on me! Day 4 now- still no recovery!!!!! Avoid.

Been waiting for a patrol car to come out to me since 3pm 16/10/2023 it is now 02:10pm 17/10/2023 and my car window has been open all night! Need I say any more’ Customer services are below average and the Automated voice system that is supposed to help you doesn’t even work correctly. I’m actually lost for words and feel like I have been robbed. Can’t wait for the contract to end.

NEVER BUY RAC NEVER Disgusting, incompetent and waste of time If you can avoid it Never Buy RAC Never Im sat in my care since 2 o’clock this afternoon and its 21:25 now, and still waiting to show up🥵
