Tried to cancel my insurance, after trying to get through for 3 days I finally got through and manage to cancel my insurance. The lady said on the phone that I would be due a refund which can take up to 30 days, In the end I ended up losing my refund and lost out on £70 The company is a joke and you need to talk to about 4 people before you start getting somewhere. Avoid.

They cancelled my car insurance Policy without any reason, then charged me a £50 fee for the pleasure. This has never happened to me with any other insurance company. I think it's a scam where they collect fees after undercutting the competition then cancel your cover and collect a fee. Free money for them. AVOID like the plague,

Very hard to get hold of, waited 32 minutes to speak to someone over the phone. They requested ridiculous amounts of documents from myself and added drivers and still was not enough. They then emailed me to say my insurance had been cancelled so i found insurance else where then they took a payment from my account when I called them they said oh we didn’t cancel your insurance after all. They were then unable to tell me over the phone if I was due a refund or if I had to pay a settlement figure they told me they would write to me it’s been 4 days and still no letter. I would not recommend this company not professional.

If you are here reading a review about ‘A Choice’ before deciding whether to invest your money into them. Hold your horses and read my review below and all the other 90+ 1 star reviews. This company does not even deserve 1 star. They are Cowboys, Scammers, Fraudsters and any other name similar that you can think that relates. I Insured with them a couple of weeks back now and was give a suprisingly good quote. Obviously I checked it over a few times to make sure I had entered all the correct details (which I had). So after being insured for 2weeks I suddenly get an email and letter in post explaining that my insurance had been cancelled. I rang A choice straight up and demanded to be told the reason why. They explained it was because I had 3 non stated claims to my name that I apparently did not tell A choice about when insuring with them. So it turns out that the first ‘non stated claim’, was in fact the only claim I actually did notify them about. This was a claim completely my fault which I gave full information about. However, A choice tried telling me that the case is still open. (Baring in mind this is 3 years later.. since then I have been paid out for the claim and had two other insurers insure me with no problem about it). The 2nd ‘non stated’ claim turns out to be an Incident I was involved in 2 years ago in which me and a woman touched cars and resulted in her trying to blame me. She was happy to take down insurance route and go 50/50 but I had to beg her not to due to my claim just before this. I obviously legally had to notify my current insurers incase she did take it through insurance. She never did so and instead I paid for it privately. A Choice apparently labels this as a ‘Claim/Accident’ not stated. Thirdly and lastly, the final ‘non stated’ claim was an accident a named driver (my mother) had last year. In fact it wasn’t even an accident. Her car was hit by our neighbour whilst parked outside the house. Obviously she claimed but that was all to do with her insurance and not mine. After obviously nearly pulling my hair out in anger I was then told I would loose £500 out of the £1500 I had just paid upfront 2weeks ago. The woman from ‘A choice’ then had the audacity to tell me to make sure that when I apply for new insurance, I should tick the box that states ‘ I have been declined Insurance before’. I honestly cannot beleive an Insurance company like this can get away with day light robbery on so many younger aged people that are already struggling to pay for extremely expensive car insurances. They will give you a cheap insurance quote to pull you in, then once insured they will find a reason to be able to cancel your policy. In a result of that they’ll refund you your money but keep a few hundred pounds as a fee and that’s where they earn their money as well as screwing up people’s insurances. I will be taking this up with Trading Standards and Ombudsman and will not drop this until they stop robbing people. If you too are a victim of their disgraceful behaviour feel free to join me on my journey to taking them down.

Hi Charlie, Thank you for your review - I am sorry to read that you are unhappy. A cancellation is always a last resort for us however for your protection you have got to be insured correctly. If we had known about the three incidents when you purchased your policy then the quote we gave would have been different. Once we become aware of the claims/incidents we have to react to that information so that you are correctly insured. Our complaints team will be in touch with you soon to go through the details about your refund and further action that's available to you if you remain unsatisfied. This company has ruined the chance of my 19 year old son getting a reasonable car insurance quote. He had an accident which involved his car and his friends coming together. He rang to ask advice and they put it on his file he had made a claim! After arguing for an hour we got his years no claims bonus and cancelled the policy but they have put on his records a fault claim so now it makes him look like hes lying when he says he hasnt claimed, even tho they gave the no claims bonus! Awful company who i will be reporting to trading standards.

Were fantastic when I first took out my policy. I called to get a quote for the new car I was purchasing and was told they would not insure it. When I called a few days later to cancel my policy as I'd sold the car: the 'gentleman' on the phone was very rude and couldn't understand why I needed to cancel the policy?? safe to say; I'll never use achoice again.

Horrendous! Don’t give them a penny of your money they lie to get the sale there is a standard excess of £400 then when they ask you what you want your excess to be they add it on but don’t tell you this! You try and complain and they don’t do anything say they are gonna ring you back and don’t. False promises rubbish customer service and leave you with no money just stress.

Not even worth one star review but feel insenced that this company are even still trading. My daughter took out car insurance £1184 and after a period of 26 days they cancelled the insurance due to my daughter not informing them of an incident that had occurred two years previously and she had not informed them. After eventually getting through to speak to them on the phone she explained that the incident was a no fault on her part and the other party settled privately and not through insurance. Achoice cancelled the insurance and refunded the £822 ...... daylight robbery, she has been charged £382 for 26 days insurance. Please, if you have any sense at all you will avoid this company.

WORST COMPANY EVER!! Cancelled my daughter's policy a week after it started stating their computer system showed she had 6 points on her licence when she only declared 3. She only has 3 and even sent them proof of this, but because they've cancelled her policy she is no longer entitled to the deposit of £138 she paid. How about actually talking to your customers before you cancel policies and have a 20 year old crying down the phone because she hasn't done anything wrong.

AVOID THIS COMPANY. -=# OVER 50% OF REVIEWERS GAVE THIS COMPANY THE LOWEST POSSIBLE SCORE (1 OUT OF 5) ! #=- Hold time to reach a human in excess of 40 minutes every time I've tried to call them. I made calls throughout the week on different days. I consider them to be the worst insurance company in the UK. They are called Premium Choice Ltd but they trade under different brand names because they've ruined their original name "Premium Choice". It looks like they've done the same with A Choice as well.... Currrently 54% of reviewers on this page gave 1 star.... I wonder how long it is before they come up with another brand name to cover up their poor historical performance? I dealt with this company whilst trading as "premium choice" and I wouldn't have paid them a penny if I had known they were the same company. I am now in the process of reporting them to trading standards for tricking me into thinking they are a new business and charging me a £100 cancellation fee when I only had cover for 1 week. DO NOT TRUST THESE CROOKS! They're the cheapest for a reason and I guess we get what we pay for!

Worst company ever? Been on hold for an hour now to talk to them about an email saying they’ve cancelled my policy although taking my money this morning I’m sure if i send them a bill for me using my credit.. I wouldn’t touch these people with a barge pole. Go with someone else. Absolutely worst insurance company I’ve had in the past 2 years. Waste of time and money AVOID at all costs.,
