“I got some money back , but was missing alot for my expenses. Better than nothing but still didn't recuperate my losses”

Dear Nicholas Gough, Thank you for your feedback. We understand that you may feel disappointed that the amount recovered did not cover all of your expenses. However, we would like to clarify that compensation, ticket refunds (where applicable), and reimbursement of additional expenses are three separate types of payments, each governed by different rules and requirements. The compensation you received was calculated in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004 and is determined by the distance of the flight and the nature of the disruption. These compensation amounts are fixed by law and cannot be increased based on the actual expenses incurred by a passenger. With regard to additional expenses, airlines apply strict reimbursement policies and only certain categories of costs are eligible for reimbursement. Unfortunately, many expenses are not recoverable under airline policies, including pre-paid hotel reservations, car rentals, tickets purchased from other airlines, non-essential purchases, and various indirect losses. As a result, the amount reimbursed for additional expenses may be lower than the total costs incurred during the disruption. This limitation is imposed by the airline's reimbursement rules and applicable regulations rather than by our company. We understand that this outcome may not fully compensate for all of your losses, but we are pleased that we were able to secure compensation on your behalf in accordance with EU law and recover the amounts that were legally available in your case.
