“Generally scruffy and quality of fruit and vegetables is appalling - look as if they have been left to moulder for days. Some of the chicken is not that fresh either.
Entrance passage way completely blocked by half-dead vegetation and when I have complained about this previously it has improved for a week or so and then gone back to its awful, cluttered looking usual stance.
Staff on tills are always talking to someone else on their devices and not noticing customers which makes for total annoyance, as far as I am concerned.
Overall my two stores nearest to me could both do with a thorough ON-GOING clean and PL:EASE, a tidying up.”

“Okay folks. Aldi. What is wrong with their stores. Easier to ask what is right with them. Today is Xmas eve 2017. It is Sunday. I made my way to the Dover store and was surprised that it was not all that busy. Hmmm, most likely because of the massive new Lidl store opened up here. Anyway, I went in there because they were selling Air Fryers.Sadly they didn't have any left. Fair enough, it's Xmas. I never not ever buy anything in there because of their bad quality food items and other things. What really got to me was that as usual there was a member of staff with a huge pallet on a trolley unloading stock and putting it into racks, getting in everyone's way and forcing me to tread onto it. As I did so it moved quickly and I almost lost my balance. What if it had been someone elderly with not so good balance. Shame on you Aldi in this particular store, but it is not uncommon to find this in there. Wouldn't you have though they would do all the shelf filling before the store opened? Anyway, I have had my say, which is honest and not management inspired!!”
“Wouldn't you have thought that this company would have made an extra effort at Christmas? Not so. Popped into my local one only to find nothing had changed at all.Still the same cheap, bad quality food for those unfortunate enough who need to shop there. Nothing wrong with that I guess but please, don't think you are getting any bargains because you are not. I too have been in Aldi stores in the Netherlands and they are the same there too. I simply cannot recommend anything they sell, no matter how hard I try. As someone else has said, when it comes to cheap food it means low quality. I agree with that. Oh, I also agree that checkouts are a joke, but in Aldi's favour so are many others. That's all I have to say apart from,as another reviewer has stated, ignore the company reviews by staff!!”

“These shops don't really provide the things you need, with mostly unhelpful staff, badly laid out aisles and poor value for money. Rocket propelled checkouts, badly designed checkout layouts and a nightmare for the elderly and disabled. Staff manning them on quotas need to rush actually. If it were me I could not treat people like that in the first place, would leave, or not take the job at all. If you happen to live in Dover there is a massive new Lidl opening soon on the 7th December I think it is. It is down near to B&Q.”
“Why is it that after a bad review there will be a mass of four star ones? We all know eh. Bad stores, bad quality of fresh foods and also packaged such as steak etc. Downmarket stores supplying downmarket products at prices indicative of their quality. Forgive me when I say that these stores are for people on low incomes. I wish not to offend by saying that but simply stating the obvious. Okay if you are not too fussy about what you put inside yourself. If anyone MUST shop at cheap stores you would do better at Lidl.”
“What a shocking experience to be sure!! Awful quality. Well it would be wouldn't it. You know, like you get what you pay for. Bad store layout (mind the pallets) and most fresh items not dated. See another review about this. Agree about the checkouts, and feel so sorry for the elderly as they try to keep up with the staff on their scanning targets. Disgraceful to say the least. The only good thing about this particular store is that there were no self service checkouts.”
“Okay then. The reviews on here smell of company interference to me. Just go looking back on previous reviews to see what I mean. So I will try to give a genuine no nonsense review of ANY Aldi store. Prices of course reflect quality, and quality is something Aldi do not offer. Cheap yes, quality no. Staff dragging pallets of stock around during open hours and getting in the way all the time. Seems there is a health and safety issue here, something I intend to look into. Unfriendly checkouts and dried out plants in season. No BB dates on most fresh items unless you know the codes. These are freely available online. Do check them out and write them all down. You'll be amazed at what you no longer buy. Yes, of course, Aldi are fine if you are on a tight budget.Nothing wrong with that, but understand prices really do reflect quality. There is one good thing though about this company. They happen to sell 4ply toilet paper at a reasonable price. Not as reasonable as Iceland's, but fairly near. Is it worth a visit just for this? Not really, unless you happen to live very close by. Just buy that though and get out quickly. That's it really. No doubt there will be company posts after this!!”
“What can I say that hasn't already been said about this nasty company with their awful products, bad quality and off putting checkouts. See other reviews for details re this bit. Cheap food really does never mean good quality. It simply is not possible. On the other hand it is okay for anyone on a bit of a tight budget, which is why this company exists. If you want good value, nourishing food, then you will not find in at Aldi.”
“Bought Mince Beef it was well in use by date and to say it was bad is a understatment it smelled so bad it made me gag emailed Aldi not really interested never will i go there again,to add insult got another email today telling me cant have redund as no proof did'nt ask fot refund more concered about the rank meat”
“Shocking company in every single way. Nasty quality items, from cheap things like household items to all their food. Oh, and let's not forget the horrid checkouts. Like another reviewer said, Aldi are for low income households, and it is silly to say otherwise. It is the same in their German and Netherlands stores. Nothing different there at all. Why is it that people are saying on here the complete opposite. Is it a wind up or are they serious? I honestly know only one person who believes that their products are fine, and I know a lot who have tried them. The biggest gripe of all from the older people is the terrible checkouts. Are they all wrong? Of course, as another reviewer has stated, many of the feedbacks on here are so obviously written by Aldi staff. Why do they do that when it is so easy to pick them out, mostly after a negative review.”
“If I could I would have awarded them zero stars. Why? Aldi puzzles me really. What is it. It seems to be trying to be a supermarket chain but in reality seems to be a company containing all the bad points of other chains in one group. I try to be fair, so went back for more, and was not surprised with what I found. From time to time Aldi do have one or two non food bargains, you know, like tools and so on. Okay, so I bought a pack of their frozen haddock in batter. Goodness me. The batter was absolutely vile, so threw that and eat most of what seemed to be haddock. With food items it simply is not possible to get quality at low prices, it really isn't. So how come they do get fair ratings now and again? People get it wrong actually. Simple, isn't it. They confuse cheap prices with quality, and rate the company on that rather than on what they should do, quality. I do not wish to be offensive, but Aldi are a company for those unfortunate enough to be on low incomes. It is how they prosper. They do not do so on quality items as they do not stock any. Oh, but I digress. Then I bought a pack of individually frozen veg in four bags within one large bag. Dear me. Again the quality was dreadful and could not eat all of the one pack I did in microwave. I firmly believe that Aldi's good fortunes will be on a downward slope in the not too distant future. If only, like some other reviewers have stated, they would do away with their super unfriendly checkouts and stop harassing customers, including the elderly, things could improve. After all, the checkout experience is one we all remember on the way home. This experience will dictate if we return or not. Will I return? Only to check the non food items like socks etc. All non food items, such as bleach and so on, are also bad quality. Use more so not cheaper is it.”
“Last week I bought my usual groceries. I bought grapes,two different melons, raspberries and strawberries, plus veg.
The only fruit I was able to eat was the honeydew melon. The rest had all gone off within two days of buying it even though the use by dates were for three days after I had thrown them away”
