“Never shop with Aldi online, they don't respect the law - Consumer Rights Act 2015, Sale of Goods or Distance Selling Regs. I ordered a £150 pressure washer and paid for next day delivery.. That didn't happen.. I called and was told it would be resolved. It wasn't delivered the next day. I called again and was informed that the utterly useless Yodel had lost my parcel. OK Please send another with next day delivery I reasonably request. No. We have to wait for the outcome of Yodel's investigation. OK I want my money back. No. We have to wait for the outcome of Yodel's investigation. WHAT? I ordered with next day delivery because I urgently need the item. Aldi has failed to fulfill the contract and is now refusing to give me a refund or replacement, even though they have confirmed that they have asked for the item to be either returned to them or compensated. As the customer my contract is with Aldi. I expect my goods or a refund immediately. I don't care that they have a problem with their fulfillment partner. It is their problem to resolve and I should not be penalised for their inept choice of carrier. That contract exists between Aldi and the useless Yodel and should have no detrimental effect upon my contract with awful Aldi. SHAME ON YOU. MY ORDER IS NOW 3 DAYS OVERDUE AND YOU REFUSE A REFUND OR REPLACEMENT. What will you do to put this right? NOTHING! Aldi's response to this message was, sorry, you'll just have to wait. This is in contravention of the consumer rights act 2015.”
“Avoid and Avoid
I bought from them and cannot take it to the store, nor send by parcelforce, nor drop-off - my money is stuck so I will do a charge-back on my credit card as its fraud.
Katie and Katrina are trying to help but this is 2 days of non collection.
This is a fraudulent service.”
“I find their prices attractive. some of their products are not only cheaper but exceed the quality of other supermarkets and I always find the people on the checkout friendly, and helpful. They must be treated well by the store as they never seem bored or disgruntled.”
“Good products and variety but do not like how fast I have to be at the till to keep up with cashiers. Coming from a customer whose current supermarket asks me if I want help with my packing like plenty others it does affect my decision to shop at Aldi.”
“Yes. Do be careful of their sell by/use by dates. Doesn't surprise me one little bit. Tip. Whenever you buy anything in a vacuum pack or any sort of pack from them, do make sure you check for airtightness. Rough handling because of pressurised staff will cause many a split. Never pick anything up to buy without a thorough look.”
“Bought a pack of Turkey steaks , use by date was 21/8/18.
Got them out of the fridge to cook on the 21st , they were stinking to high heaven , had to wrap in 2 carrier bags before putting in the bin.
When I contacted Aldi , they said to return to store for a refund. Really ?
They want me to transport wreaking meat back to the store ?
When I pointed this out they said no refund unless I returned them.
Needless to say they have lost another customer for the sake of £3.”
“What a ridiculous thing to say, Mr Powell. I thought the reason for review sites was just that, a review of how a company operates, their prices and the cleanliness of store. Your opinion of other reviewers is uncalled for. It is their right to say what they found, not to placate others who may not agree with them.”
“Nothing went wrong as I no longer shop there. That doesn't mean it hasn't in the past. What a company isn't it!! So many people with the same issues. So many checkout horror tales. As somebody recently said on here we do not have to go along with this terrible checkout practice. Neither do we have to pack at those dreadfully annoying packing "benches". What are they going to do, throw you out for not complying? I really do hope my dear, Mrs T, that you do report her to management at their web address. Don't hold your breath though waiting for a reply as they never reply to complaints.”
“We have bought at the sundown park , Luton strawberries, raspberries and tomatoes in the past two weeks. The strawberries lasted three days unopened in a fridge and all were covered in mould this was same with raspberries. We bought tomatoes yesterday and today we opened the packet and two were covered in mould. These items are not cheap and we will rethink to continuing shopping at Aldi.”
“I have been shopping in the Rhyl Aldi for many years and found the staff and check out staff very helpful and friendly. However, today at the till Dawn the check out lady wouldn't give me time to put my shopping in the trolley never mind my shopping bags, when I asked her to hang on a minute whilst I got organised she huffed and puffed at me and rudely replied " your supposed to pack your things there not here" I was flabbergasted at the way she was being with me, when I said I was going to report her to head office she rudely replied " my names Dawn" once again I couldn't believe her bad attitude towards me, she kept pushing my shopping to the end of the till which almost resulted in it falling in the trolley, she was obviously in a bad mood but I couldn't understand why she was taking it out on me in front of the other customers. Very disappointed indeed with the service I received today from Aldi staff.”
“Oh dear. Someone else who has been put through the wrath of the checkout person. You are right in all that you say. It is an utter disgrace. What gets me mostly about that particular practice of Aldi checkout staff is that they seem to think they are right!! Of course, we know that it is management who insist on them doing so. I also know someone who left their employ because her conscience would no longer allow her to stay. It is also true that LIdl do the same thing. It amazes me that people put up with it. On the very rare occasions I go to Aldi I pack at the checkout and completely ignore the evil looks and actions of the operator. Not only that but if they speed up I simply slow down. I have to say that if you had not mentioned it was the Melksham store I would have thought you were speaking about the Dover one. Folks, it as much the fault of staff as it is management. Would you treat people in that manner?”
“i have just returned from shopping at Aldi Melksham and i am appalled i would describe my experience akin to supermarket fascism i apparently didnt have my trolley positioned how the cashier wanted it and she made sure to give me the worst supermarket experience i can ever recall not content with ticking me off about it when i said i didnt see why she had such an issue she then told me i shouldnt be packing my items but pray how should i pop them in my trolley with levitation bizarre so rude and abusive i wont be visiting aldi again and i suggest you dont if you hold free will as a right in the uk”
“Pizza oven delivered damaged and now Aldi cannot organise for it to be picked up before making a refund. I have been let down twice after spending 2 days at home waiting for it to be collected. Several calls to Customer Service resulted in conversations with some very amenable staff but who seem incapable of getting any sense out of XDP (the delivery/collection service). May have to resort to small claims to get a refund.”
