When I contacted Anthropologie's customer service for help, I provided photos of the damaged parcel, including Royal Mail's label, and detailed the missing items. Shockingly, they refused to take responsibility and instructed me to file a claim with Royal Mail myself. This is both unhelpful and incorrect, as Royal Mail requires the sender (Anthropologie) to file such claims.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, retailers are responsible for ensuring items arrive in good condition. Despite this, Anthropologie has declined to assist in resolving the issue, leaving me without the items I paid for or a refund.
As someone who has shopped with Anthropologie in the past, I expected far better service. This experience has shaken my confidence in their commitment to their customers, and I would hesitate to shop with them again unless they address this issue and improve their policies.

“I ordered a pair of shoes and were sent the wrong order. I returned it and they sent me an email that a replacement was headed my way. However, it wasn’t picked up by UPS after a week so I reached out to customer service. They told me that they were sold out and asked if I wanted a refund but their website shows that they are still in stock. Absolutely garbage customer service with copy and paste answers. I sent them a return with a trackable link to Netherlands to the address they gave to me from Customer Service and I could see it reached Netherlands. When I contacted them, they said they cannot get the parcel and from there onwards they did not help me once single bit. I paid for the return myself and it cost me a lot of money and they were so unhelpful. Please DO NOT BELIEVE their European returns policy - it does not work and they will not help if you have any problems. They told me they would be in contact with me in 24-48 hours, but no one contacted me in over 96 hours and I had to contact them myself and even then they did not help me and just gave me copy and paste answers. This is the worst experience I have had with a company in many many years online shopping and I have to warn you - only order if you will keep everything! You cannot return and they will not help you, even if you have proof of your return and can track it. I lost so much money, almost 50 euros in just this returns case. I am beyond in disbelief of this company and their ”service”. Please be very careful when using them in Europe!”

“10 emails asking the a simple Royal Mail QR to return a package. These emails were met with:
1.) Silence
2.) telling me you were sending a QR code (never came)
3.) asking for information about the order that was already provided in that email and forwarding multiple different emails with different reps asking the same thing.
I originally selected an in store return through their portal but I cannot change it to mail. If this was possible ( & not entirely unheard of), Lots of time would have been saved.

Anthro said order a 2nd bed z7 it was delivered w/cuts in the fabric. Ordered 3rd bed & during my wait Anthro now denies previously approved sweat stains despite customer service conformation emails, photos & a video of ungloved sweaty deliverymen opening the box outside & carrying in the headboard w/wet hands & asked me to pay a reduced price of 1258.74 like they're doing me a favor. Total run around and still no resolution.”

Anthropologie help and support is no help.
After more than 15 emails phone call and chat they have asked me to send the photo of parcel I have not received and they keep sending me tracking number of the parcel with one item that was delivered and returned saying they were delivered. No one reading the emails properly or investigating properly. On one gas sent me proof of the 6 items being delivered. Only one. Status since the 6/5/24 says processing, ready to go, shipped not delivered. Tracking number of the missing items says waiting carrier pick up. I am not getting anywhere with customer support. Written to head office formal complain. Contacted citizen advisory.
Anthropologie have the money and not delivered the items.”
“I ordered a $250 dress for my brother’s upcoming wedding. When I received it, it had a tag on it, but it was extensively stained and very clearly previously worn (multiple stains down the front, dirty and stained around the bottom where it hits the floor.)
I contacted customer service with pictures to see if they would expedite ship a new dress to me prior to receiving my return as I received a damaged product and needed to get the dress hemmed prior to the wedding, so was starting to get time crunched. They agreed and told me it would ship in 1-3 business days and be delivered 1-2 days after that and that I would receive a notification when it shipped. This was last Friday.
The following Thursday morning (yesterday), I still had not received a shipping notification, so contacted them again. They seemed to be confused, so I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor was unable to tell me why the dress hadn’t shipped, but assured me it would ship that day. When I asked what I should do if it didn’t, she stated she “promised that wouldn’t happen.”
As of 8:30pm last night, still no notification, and I reached out again. They again seemed confused, and said they would cancel the order and place a new one that would ship in 1-3 business days (the same thing they said a week prior). I stated that this was unacceptable and again asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor could give me no details regarding why the item hadn’t shipped or when it would ship, just that it would be “very soon.” It is now 7:30pm the evening before a long weekend and I still haven’t gotten a shipping notification.
What is the point of having customer service when they have no insight whatsoever into a customer’s order and no ability to remedy a problem or get a product shipped faster? Also, for the price I paid, I am floored no one noticed how stained this dress was after it was returned and repackaged to sell as new.”
“Woodcliff Lake Anthro is disappointing. Bags for gifts are not available nor are envelopes for gift cards. I was handed a gift card in a little Anthro bag. Good way for it to get lost and not a good presentation. Person at check out didn’t even put the clothes in a box (which was also a gift). Customer service is definitely lacking.”
“I have ordered item from them on 7/12. The product page stated that it would be delivered within 3-5 days.
After about 4-5 days I have recevied email that order was shipped with the tracking number provided. Not quick turnaround but ok, everyone are busy now during peak season. After another 2 days I have checked tracking and I found the parcel has not even been picked by the carrier, so I decided to contact them then.
For my first contact email which was my reply to their order confirmation (so all order details were included), they have replied after about 3-4 days that I have not provided order number in my message so they are not able to find my order, so I have replied to them with my order number which was included anyway in my first message. Then after another few days of waiting they have replied that my order is delayed. Wow! Thanks for telling me that as otherwise I wouldn't be aware of this! They have said it will take another few days to investigate.
Today is 19/12 and order is still not delivered. I have contacted their support several times and they only reply with few days delay plus their replies are a good joke.
I really regret ordering with them. The product I ordered was a Christmas present which is unlikely to be delivered before Christmas, so will seek for full refund which will cause me wasting even more time fighting with them for a refund now.”

“Do not buy on their website unless you want your card info stolen, a subscription made on your card and no one helping you!! I purchased a sofa that I paid in full and out of the blue was billed £59 weeks later, I wrote to them immediately explaining I didn’t make this order and for them to cancel it and refund me. The order didn’t appear on my anthropologie account but my card was indeed used on their website after I used my card weeks earlier on their website. I provided them with screenshots and told them they would be able to trace the order by checking the card number used but absolutely no one tried to even help. Just awful! I spent over £2650 on a sofa and this is how they treat their customers after their system was hacked! They told me I had to sort it with my bank, which I tried of course, and even the bank cannot understand the lack of any help they are providing when this is their responsibility to secure transactions. Do yourself a favour and just don’t risk it, I now have a setup subscription on my account that I still haven’t been able to cancel or get my money back on; I’ve had to freeze the card and order a new one etc. But the subscription is still active. Absolute nightmare”
“Good luck getting your money back on retuned items. I returned a basket that was poor quality and had actual cobwebs on it. They received the return July 3. I confirmed several times that the item was received with customer service. One person told me they processed the refund and it would take 1-3 days to show up. They flat out lied. No credit. Tried contacting again and now they are saying it will take 3-4 more weeks to “process”! It was never like this before and there are no other companies that take that long to issue a refund once receiving items. My credit card company allows the business two weeks to credit the return after receiving it so I will be disputing the charge. Are they holding customers’ money now to earn interest? One has to wonder.”
“Terrible Customer Service: I ordered four items from Anthropologie. Firstly, everything is completely overpriced and low quality here. Secondly, after paying for shipping my order was lost. I finally found it going to the WRONG LOCATION. I couldn't change the final destination and I spent half a day trying to change the address. I talked to a manager at Anthropologie who assured me the address was changed. The address was never changed, and nothing could be done to resolve the issue, according to the company. It was constantly pass the buck whether it be talk to the shipping carrier or contact the sister store. Finally, the items were sent out in FOUR separate boxes. Use a different service like Nordstroms Rack, BCBG, Free People, or Zara.”
“Worse experience online purchase. Item arrived damage. Sent item immediately back, The process??? After they receive it they wont credit back immediately. Long story short after a month of calling , they sent me an email stating: "We've Completed Your Refund" You will receive the refund within 28 days after the processing date. “First and last time I order from this appalling company, worst experience of my shopaholic life. At the end of november I ordered two vases as a gift for a couple of friends from the US website. The items were poorly packed and one vase arrived completely destroyed. First issue but ok it happens. I immediately asked for a replacement, that was two weeks ago and I am still waiting. I have been in touch with customer care literally every three days for the past two weeks and all the time l have been given the same pointless useless and unreliable answer: we are taking care of it, your case has been raised as priority, you will receive a dispatch confirmation mail in 48 hours. I have heard this several times and yet nothing arrived, not an email, not the parcel. I feel deceived by this company. I suspect the replacement item is now out of stock but they won't tell, so what's next? I read on the other reviews that getting a refund is not that easy as well... I am so embarassed now as at somepoint I will have to tell my friends that they will probably never receive the gift I meant (and PAID) for them. Refrain from buying from this company, they don't care about their customer. Not all that glitters is gold I'm afraid.”
