We bought a Hoover vented tumble dryer from ao.com, the delivery being the only good experience about this transaction - pretty quick. Since purchase, the unit leaks all over the utlity room floor and steams up the walls, the front control panel has come off in my hand, and it nearly caught fire smoking out the room when it burnt two holes in a quilt that my now departed mother left me - angry? There are no words. We've had two engineers come, the first stayed 3 minutes as it was his last call of the day, and really couldn't be bothered to do anything, the second said everything was fine. AO refuse to take the unit back, so I have just ha to go to Currys two months after purchase and buy a condenser unit brand new to replace this faulty one. Customer service - APALLING!!!!! This purchase has cost me £200 on top of the original purchase price. If a smaller comany behaved like this they would be out of business very quickly!

Hi Louise I’m very sorry to read of the issue you’ve experienced with your tumble dryer, I can appreciate how disappointing this must be for you. Having looked at the notes on the order, I can see that an engineer has advised that the machine was not venting correctly due to the length of the pipe that has been attached to your appliance. The engineer has advised that the machine itself is working to specification. If you believe this is not the case, I would be happy to arrange for another engineer to attend and inspect the appliance. I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused. Kind regards Rob - ao

I have used AO many times, and advocated to everyone I know when they were looking to purchase. Never again. My daughter ordered a washing machine 2 months ago. Today was the final straw; first the machine was out of stock and delivery cancelled, then it was no longer in stock, agreed a different machine... then delivery cancelled. Today after receiving a text to confirm delivery was today, she was then told it was cancelled. A young junior Dr who has now taken 3 days off work for last minute cancelled deliveries... shame on you and your £50 compensation, She has lost more in wages than the cost of the machine. Buyer beware, it can cost you more than the actual appliance in repeated cancelled deliveries.

ordered a computer monitor from Ao.com, told it was not available, then called and cancelled with Ao.com on the phone, and called 4 times over 3 days periods to ensure this was canceled and so no delivery is needed. Everytime i was reassured that it was cancled But the monitor was still delivered anyway to our neiburgh by dpd. I feel this was caused by dis-engagment between ao.com and dpd (a seperate delivery firm), while unfortunately customers are caught in the middle to pick up the pieces (aside from so many times i have to call and also now we have to either take work time off OR sacrifice family weekend time to wait for collection, not to even mention the stress we have to go through for a should-be simple/straightforward task!) One of the unique selling point of ao.com was their fast/efficient delivery . Now this is no longer a credential, very disappointed!!!!! will NOT order again from them especially computing components.

Earlier today I placed my first order with AO and the goods are being delivered next week. I have just received a phone call from AO to “check” everything is OK with my order. This was actually a sales pitch to convince me to buy an extended warranty and a care pack for two of the appliances I had ordered. It was clear that the person was giving a sales pitch and would not take no for an answer even when I said I had no intention of buying these extras. I had to tell him several times that I was not interested and then he asked me to explain why I was not interested. I was less than impressed and I doubt I will buy goods from AO again.

The website says deliveries can be between 7am and 7 pm. The initial four hour delivery window was set at between 3 and 7 pm. Through the day the window slipped backwards When it slipped back to 8.30pm to 12.30am (after midnight!) - I called to cancel the order. At no time did AO contact me to explain the changes. Can't wait to see the AO TV advert based on my experience.

The estimated time of arrival we provide may charge as the Driver Team make their deliveries. This information will update on our website so that you’re kept up to date. I purchased a television August 1st & since last week end it started showing blue then since the colour is a mixture of pink & purple. I contacted you ten who told me to either get a smaller size for the value of the one I had as I got the TV on a promotion, I could also pay £149 for another brand of the same size after explaining that I had no money, I was asked to pay £75.00 instead or I could have a refund. I still have the purple Tv in my house as I am not getting any reasonable solution from you guys. Really wish I hadn't bought it.

I have had a long horrible journey with AO with one problem after another. My fridge freezer broke 3 months after purchasing! It took them 3 weeks to get me a replacement! On delivering the replacement they damaged 2 kitchen units. Which they refuse to take responsibility for even with clear evidence. After 6 weeks of battling with them they have now washed their hands with me. Sorry yes they did offer me a whopping £50 for the inconvenience! Which I declined!

Unprofessional crooks. Bought a Samsung washing machine that should have had a 5 year parts and labour warranty. They seem to have " accidentally " forgotten to tell me this. Not only that but they charged me up front for a 3 year extended guarantee??? Jeez the standard Samsung guarantee gives 3 years full cover but AO seem to have been more than economical with the truth. Just to top it all they charged me for installation and botched that up!!!! Washer was bouncing all over the place and drain was not fitted properly. I suffer from MS Snd am in a wheelchair yet I was left with a leaking drain and having to tell the installer what was wrong and how to repair it. AO.COM ? Should be OhOh....... Am going to cut my losses, offload it on Gumtree and buy a decent Hotpoint!! My mistake for being sucked in by flashy adds . Just remember the song is AO?.... OhNo !!!!

3 OUT OF 6 APPLIANCES ARRIVED DAMAGED! One damaged item I could see, possibly, but 3 out of 6? That's 50%, and 50% is not a passing grade! The whole ordeal left me wondering if they were selling me second-hand goods! We just moved into our new home, and I outfitted the entire kitchen through AO. Three out of six appliances arrived damaged. For one of the damaged items I accepted a discount. For the other two items, I returned them and since it was going to take a too long for AO to replace them, I went to one of their competitors to have them replaced. One of the items was out of stock with no projected restock date in sight. We live in Northern Ireland and the turn around from ordering your item through AO to actually receiving it is not good. To get AO to arrange for pick up of the items took two weeks. I had to phone multiple times while these two damaged appliances sat in our kitchen taking up space that we cannot spare. Some of the customer service agents were not very helpful. One customer service agent referred to Norther Ireland as an "International shipment"...well that didn't go down too well with me and I reminded the agent that we live in the UK, the same country as himself. Never again.

Thanks for your comments. I'm sory to read about your experience with us and I can understand your frustration. We appreciate that on occasion a customer may receive a damaged appliance, although it's most unusual for a customer to receive 3 damaged items. All of our appliances come in the packaging supplied by the manufacturer and to ensure our customers always receive appliances which are in perfect condition, we check the outer packaging to make sure there is no visible package damage before they are accepted into our warehouse. Only appliances which are free of damage are sent to our customers, however on occasion, appliances can be less than perfect once they are unpacked. Once a customer advises us of any damage, we can offer either a discount or a replacement. We do use a third party courier in Northern Ireland, so deliveries and collections do take slightly longer. I ordered an extractor fan. Three times the wrong colour was delivered. Then I ordered a different model. This one did not turn up at all on the delivery day! Totally abysmal service. Beyond hopeless.

The Delivery team flooded our kitchen installing a dishwasher, breaking the cold water feed for the washing machine. Little to no urgency to a major problem, no contingency or plan B to help a customer with a problem you had caused! Left with a product we were unable to use for 2 weeks, no apologies or any basic customer first principles shown! All resulting in us requesting a collection & refund, taking our cash to John Lewis. I had used AO online several time before with no issues, but never again! The after sale service is shockingly poor, inadequate and imensly tardy!!

This is the worst company ever. I recently purchased a fridge freezer for £320 and I paid an extra £20 for my old old to be recycled. I mentioned on the website that I have stairs in the building. The delivery drivers came and refused to take the new fridge freezer upstairs and refused to take the old one with them even though I paid for that service. They said we don't think it's safe to take the fridge freezer upstairs even though curry's, argos and other major companies take all my orders up and down without any problems. So I phoned customer service team and was disconnected twice. 3rd time I called the customer service guy was saying his going to do me a favour by refunding my money for the recycling service.... HOW IS THAT DOING ME A FAVOUR BY REFUNDING MY OWN MONEY BACK... The then locked off after saying I'll receive my money back in a few days. I had call my friends over to help me carry the fridge freezer upstairs and had to pay another company to come and collect the old fridge freezer. This company is the worst company I have ever used.

Had an integrated dishwasher installed. The fitter left the warranty card and operating instructions stuck to the back of the machine. Told me go online to find out how to work the machine. Left a loose part and the child proof lock inside the machine and then set the dishwasher to run and left. I have no idea where the part goes - I only found it when the cycle had finished. Very poor service

We had a hob delivered and installed but the installation was very poorly done - I could get my fingers underneath the hob top and the counter and glue from the existing hob had not been removed so the new hob did not sit flush on the counter. Our counter top was damaged too. The end result was AO not taking any responsibility for ensuring that it got installed properly. We had to fix their bad workmanship ourselves or pay a different company to do so. We got the installation fee refunded but that is all. Numerous emails and phone calls with AO regarding when an engineer was going to come out to fix it but they never did and the booking never seemed to make it into their system. The company is irresponsible, badly run and not working according to the requirements of the Consumer Rights Act at all.

We had a fridge freezer delivered a week ago. It was wrongly installed and we had to wait for another installation team to come out. The fridge was still making a very loud noise so we asked for a replacement but were told that an engineer needed to confirm that it was faulty. We waited in for a third day for the engineer to indeed confirm that the fridge was faulty and we arranged for a replacement fridge freezer to be delivered a week after the original one had been delivered. Today the new fridge freezer was planned to be delivered to the same address with the same access as before but this team tell me they don't carry fridges down stairs. We were very clear in our instructions that there are steps and the width of doorways etc. We are currently waiting for a new delivery date over a week later than the original. We still have no fridge freezer, four days off work and at least another until we finally receive our fridge. When we call AO we are either sent to the delivery company or the manufacturer rather than AO dealing with the problem. We have a kitchen table covered in rotting food and AO are taking no responsibility to solve this problem. Never again!

Ripped my floor in multiple places upon installing the dishwasher and are now refusing compensation despite the face the delivery men admitted to it and apologized, ie accepting blame. Implied that customer had made it up. Fortunately I have the photographic evidence to prove otherwise. Investigating with lawyers now - will give it one more shot for what will be a measly amount of compensation for them in the bigger picture, but if no luck will be suing for the principle here as I am outraged.

I made an order online at 8.30pm at night for next day delivery which was an option when I made the order. Instead it processed through as the day after which was when my daughter was having an operation so I would not have chosen that day. As soon as I became aware on the Tuesday morning when I thought it was being delivered. I was offered no apology but told that was when I had ordered it for which was not true. First time I had used AO and will not be using them again.

When the delivary drivers turned up they made my mum feel so at ease treating her with hello Joyce we are here to deliver your freezer they were so helpful .she got straight on the phone to me to say how pleased she was with their service.
