Arrived at Barcelona Airport to pick up car to be told the name on the account was incorrect and didn't match my husbands drivers licence. But his licence matched everything else including the card it was paid for on, the email address etc. It is clear there was some technical issue where the wrong surname for my husband had been picked up. 2 hours trying to sort it at the airport with 4 children in tow and still got nowhere. We were told its tough it's our mistake (yes because my husband doesn't know his own surname?!?!) It was clear it was a technical issue but instead of modifying or refunding they kept all the money and we had to book another car at the airport. Absolutely appalling customer service and I will be pursuing to the ombudsman. Stay well clear of these cowboys and don't waste your time speaking to the most unprofessional customer service workers I've ever come across.

If I could give this a -10 I would AVOID this company at all costs!! We arrived in Malta to collect our car to be told it's been cancelled as we were 2 hours late! We put out flight number in when booking the car and this generated a pick up time, thinking theat will be fine. The lady behind the desk was the most rudest lady I've EVER come across, she basically stuck her fingers up at us saying the car was cancelled no cars available, nothing they could do! How can you treat people this way especially when they have just arrived with 2 young kids for a holiday welcome to Malta!! We thought it was just us but no every person that came into the office the booking was cancelled or another problem credit card driving licence etc!! We ended up going to another company Green motion which were a pleasure to deal with. DO NOT USE

I was looking for a rental in Paris where we would pick the car up in the terminal. I saw one we liked that said “ located “ in terminal “. To me & pretty much everyone that means the rental is in a he airport. Without going into a very long rant the rental was not in the airport & 1.5 hrs later we finally found our pick up person! This was very inconvenient & relocating the rental place when returning was horrible, we almost missed our flight! Auto Europe needs to make sure if the rental is NOT in the terminal it says so. Now I’m trying to contact them because of charges coming in that are fraudulent.. The prices are good online but be very careful of who you rent from

Booked a car through AutoEurope UK, with Hertz in Fez Morocco. When I got there they could only provide me with an Automatic, not a car with Manual Transmission as ordered. So I refused. Soon AutoEurope supported my claim for a refund, calling it a "Fleet Failure", but - surprisingly - in the end (after many mails) notified me they couldn't help me. Only telling me that Hertz won't refund my money. A mere three hundred dollars (little more) to lose a client. In conclusion, AutoEurope can be an intermediary to rent a car, pay for it & receive commissions for their role, but not when a fair solution is asked for no help for us as clients at all. Hertz being the bigger company they don't want to lose. Although I worked with both of them before, I lost my trust in Hertz & AutoEurope as well.

Booked airport pick up in advance, flight was arriving at 11.15pm which is time I booked for. Arrived at Malaga Airport, nobody to there to pick us up. Office closed at 11.00pm, in that case booking should never have been accepted. Called the local company who offered a pick up location nearby to where we were staying in Marbella. Called the following morning to be told that the car could only be picked up at Malaga Airport, which was about an hour away and another €90 in a taxi, a cost we already incurred on arrival having been let down with no car to pick up at airport. I was not offered any alternative options. Asked to cancel and was told I had to wait until after 22nd October and speak to customer services. When I called Auto Europe, I explained that I was calling to complain, rather than telling me that I was not through to the right department, the lady allowed me to explain the whole situation and then told me I had to speak to customer services, she then cold transferred me through. I then spoke with Marco who did not have any of my information, so had to provide all details again. He then explained that they would have to investigate via the car rental company. When prompted, it then became apparent that Marco had no intention of doing anything, so I had to ask for details of where I had to write to. Absolutely shocking customer experience from start to finish, absolute fraud of a company. We will be taking legal action. NOT A COMPANY THAT CAN BE RELIED UPON OR TRUSTED!

- Rental location incorrectly listed as on airport site - Rental company had given my car to someone with similar name(!), after prolonged wrangling eventually given downgraded car - Auto Europe not interested at all, customer service non-existent - Took SIX WEEKS to respond when these issues were raised during which time they had done absolutely nothing, essentially saying I needed to pursue it myself - Stark contrast with competitors such as Holiday Autos whose customer care is excellent - A shameful display. I bitterly regret using Auto Europe and certainly won’t be making this mistake again

got charged once from Auto Europe, once from hertz, no damage to the car, full tank, just double charged for the car. impossible to connect to support.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. It was the worst experience with a car rental broker company I have ever had. Where do I begin? Paid £185 to hire a car in Mallorca for 7 days. Our flight was delayed by one hour so we informed AE and were told this would not be an issue. I even had 3 telephone conversations with AE before our flight to confirm everything. We arrived at 9.30pm at Palma airport and no-one was there to greet us. We waited 30 minutes. I called the AE emergency number several times and nobody picked up. The car pickup office was now closed. We were left stranded with zero communication from AE and no way to collect the car. I was with my elderly mother who at this point was close to tears. We had to resort to a 130 EUR taxi to the hotel which was an hour and twenty minutes away. The next day, I called AE to arrange to collect the car. To my dismay, they said I would not be able to because I did not show up the previous night and they had CANCELLED MY BOOKING. I had paid to hire the car for one week. I then asked for a refund and was told I could not have one and the best thing was to hope I had travel insurance. They then put the phone down on me. This was the absolute worst start to our holiday and I then had to book elsewhere with another company (Goldcar) who were amazing and showed the kind of service this shoddy company lacked. I have had to go through my bank to request a full refund. I will never ever use this company again. Be warned - this is a broker company and not the actual car hire company. If there are any delays with your flight, they do not care and will leave you with zero assistance. To also add - every single person I spoke to at AE was incredibly rude. The customer service is shocking. I should have known to run for the hills as soon as this happened on the first call. USE GOLDCAR!!!! Amazing from start to finish.

Auto Europe is a Scam. I reserved and pre-paid to reserve a car for 5 days. I showed up a bit over 2 hours late due to a delayed flight to Sardinia. When I went to the vendor to pick up the car they reported that Auto Europe automatically cancelled the car rental because I was a no show. The car had already been rented out to another person (also curious). The rental car company said they could do nothing and I should call Auto Europe asking about a refund. The Auto Europe representative told me they would do nothing because I breached the contract rules by showing up 2 hours late and not contacting them or providing flight details. That is a scam. I would have thought 2 hours wouldn't matter if I had prepaid to rent a car for 5 days. Other rental car companies (centauro) will give 12 hours before declaring a no show. Do not book via Auto Europe or any other booking agents, use the booking agent to search for vendors then book directly at the vendor.

AVOID - the pick up instructions were out of date, the phone number for the Car Hire company didn't work, the paperwork was never forwarded to me by the car hire company they recommended and I am still waiting for my deposit to be refunded. No one appears to want to help me at AutoEurope, will never use them again and strongly suggest no one else does too.

Did not get the car/requirements specified. The car rental supplier did all they could to try to help fix the issue, but AutoErurope refused all possible solutions (arguing that it was 30min past since I was supposed to pick up my car so it was completely out of their possibility). The AutoEurope agent we spoke to was rude, did not care about our holiday being ruined

They don't answer their out of hours helpline so if you have a problem picking your car up, then you're on your own. I gave them a chance to put this right, but their customer service have washed their hands of this problem so it's a 1 star review from me.

The people at this company are professional thieves and the company itself is a big fraud. If you want to lose your money and NOT even have a car, better throw it in the trash, as here not only they will steal your money, you'll also be shouted at and they'll hang up the phone on you continuously while you're calmly trying to just find your justice. My father's flight had a delay that cause him to arrive to the car rental the next day early in the morning. We sent an email informing the company about the situation and the next day they told us that the email doesn't count as proof, nor the delayed flight is a reason and they kept the money of our reservation while not giving us a car. Yes, the full amount. And no car. On top of that, every time we tried to talk with someone over the phone, the agent would start shouting at us screaming "I don't even give a damn." and hang up the phone in the most rude manner. I cannot believe a company like this still has the right to operate.

It is hard to believe just how poor the customer service is from Auto Europe. We hired a car with eecar through Auto Europe UK in Mallorca and it was the worst car hire experience we have ever had in all of our years of travel. Our Auto Europe voucher clearly stated that we would be picked up by someone from eecar with our name on a sign within the airport terminal. 2 hours and 45+ phone calls to the number on our Auto Europe voucher later WITH ZERO ANSWER, we had still not been picked up. We tried to get a taxi to the eecar office (10 minute drive away) but none of the taxis wanted to take us for such a short fair. When we called Auto Europe customer service they were absolutely useless – they told us to order an Uber - which does not even exist in Mallorca!!!!! We were asking every other driver picking people up within the terminal whether they knew what we had to do for eeCar. Eventually after dragging our luggage round and round the terminal, lining up for taxis and getting rejected, we eventually walked over to where there were car hire transfer buses and asked one of the drivers if they knew what we needed to do, they let us know that eventually an eecar bus should show up. When we finally managed to get to eecar, flustered, upset, so late that we would now miss our lunch reservations and our whole plans for the day were ruined, they explained that there used to be a terminal pickup a long time ago, and that the phone number on the voucher was not for their office but for head office which does not pick up the phone. They said they had been asking Auto Europe for a long time to get this information updated but Auto Europe had failed to do so. Another man in the queue behind us overheard us and said he had the exact same horrible experience this morning as he had also booked through Auto Europe, and he was equally furious. When we complained to AutoEurope about their negligence in providing correct pick up information or even correct contact information, they had the audacity to lie and say it is correct and therefore no compensation will be given!!! Could not believe the nerve to lie to a customer who has already had an awful experience, when eecar themselves confirmed that the Auto Europe voucher was completely incorrect and that they had notified Auto Europe multiple times to get it updated!!! I will NEVER EVER EVER give this company another dime, and strongly recommend that you avoid them as well. Complete disregard for customer experience, zero customer service, and the disrespect to lie to you as well.

THIS IS A SCAM, DO NOT BOOK. We paid Auto Europe $500 for a car. When we went to pick it up, there was no available car. The car rental was unable to provide a refund or assist us find an available car, telling us that we needed to contact Auto Europe who had our money. We called Auto Europe and got put through to the US office as the Australian office was closed. They said that we would have to wait until the Australian office was open to ask for a refund, and in the meantime, we would have to pay them another $500 for them to help us find a car. After paying them another $500, we discovered that it didn't include insurance (the original booking had insurance) and had to pay another $500 for insurance. And three weeks later, the Australian office still haven't refunded us, so now we are $1500 out of pocket for a horrible experience.

We lost all our money from the booking because they do not accept Apple Pay on-site. We have an online bank that does not provide physical cards, so we were unable to physically show them a card to rent a car. Furthermore, a refund is not possible as they redirect us to the online portal where we made the booking, and the online portal advises us to contact them locally. Therefore, I would recommend avoiding booking from this company.

AWFUL! They confirmed my car would be ready for pickup out of the country and then I just found out that they now suddenly have no car for me!!! Had to cancel my reservation and am now stuck WITHOUT A CAR in a DIFFERENT COUNTRY!!! Do NOT rent from them

Auto Europe it is a joke, will give you a voucher and take your money, that all. No help no support. Arrived in Amsterdam from Seattle and my flight from Amsterdam to Krakow is conceal. Likely got on the next flight and arrived 4 hrs. later than schedule in Krakow. Have a voucher for car from Alamo rent a car. No car, no support and no MONEY !!!! Called Auto Europe and service rap. can't help!!!! No money, no car no help!!!!!!!! Daylight robbery, my phone doesn't work in Amsterdam !!!!!!!!! you idiats. Please stay away from this people, Auto Europe, Alamo, Enterprise. Just go directly to car rental company and make your reservation. You get a voucher and think you saved some money????? The whole procedure of receiving the car was very inadequate. The assistant tried to upgrade me and charge me 100GBP more. I was not given help to show me around the car and not given a paper to sign to say that I would accept any damage that was already on the car. I discovered the car had a slow puncture at my first of three destinations. When I phoned to the Europcar number to report the slow puncture I was cut off. I was on my way to a wedding. This caused me to get local help. I was late for the wedding. During the rest of the week , I was helped to fill the tyre with air at alocal petrol station. I was forced to pump up the tyre at regular intervals throughout my holiday. As I left the car to Manchester Europcar Returns early in the morning 5am . THere was no one available to go to to let them know about this malfunction. I am writing to you to try to contact them so that they dont allow this car to be hired to another unsuspecting person.
