Good afternoon! Hope you are all well! I am writing to inform pretty much everybody about the behavior of Barclays Bank. Barclays has just lost the trust and reputation that this bank is unsafe and unsecured! The case is: I used a P2P trading platform to exchange my cryptocurrency into pounds. P2P is quite simple; the buyer who wishes to buy crypto sends me money (in this case, to my Barclays Bank account), and then I release and transfer the cryptocurrency to them. However, the situation is that, within 24 hours after the transaction, my bank account was frozen, placed under investigation, and I was asked to provide more details about the transaction. I provided all the details about this transaction, explaining that it is a P2P transaction, with proofs and the order number of the transaction. After waiting for a while, they unfroze my account. However, there was no money; they took it all out, claiming it was a decision by the fraud department. So, I went to a branch and started to ask what happened. Members of Barclays said that the case was initiated by the person who paid me pounds in exchange for crypto. In conclusion, they took my money out, sent it back to the person who purchased the crypto, leaving him with cryptocurrency and the funds he paid for the crypto—a win-win situation for him. For me, it was a loss of funds, leaving me with £0 in my account with the professional help of the Barclays Bank department. It is most likely that the person who paid for the crypto said he had been scammed to gain crypto for free, and Barclays believed him, not believing me even though I provided all proofs and details of this transaction. It's a smart scheme protecting scammers by Barclays! According to their logic, I can go to a Rolex store, purchase watches for £10,000, return to the bank, say they scammed me for £10,000, and get a refund—having £10,000 in cash and watches worth £10,000. I don't believe in this bank and advise everybody not to use any service or open a bank account with Barclays. They can take all of your money out using pretty much the same method as they took money from me, not only in crypto P2P transactions. I have studied financial economics and know that banks mostly rely on the trust of their customers, so do not trust this bank; your money can be taken out at any second by the bank itself! Moreover as they saying that “we have a right not to provide any details regarding this transaction” so … outcome taking money out of thee account, with no explanation and no further documented responds proving their action! I would strongly advise not to use this bank and strongly advise everybody that I know not to use this bank because it is unsafe, trustless, and useless!

Yet another day at Barclays Nottingham 10.30 to 14.15 to try and get the block off my business account. A very helpful young man tried to help me by phoning the phone number for India to speak to the team that deals with the verifications (account Blocking) but the wait time to speak to a person was 90 minutes so I sat with him in the branch with the on hold music playing watching the time go by until it got to 2 Hours 15 minutes then they cut us off. He rang the number again and the recorded message said there will be a 1 hour wait so the assistant emailed somebody asking them to ring me ASAP. The phone call finally came through about 16.30 and the lady ask me what could she help me with my reply was please unblock my account she said I can't do that until you have sent them prove of the business name and address I said I have sent them 3 or 4 times already and one of the times one of the Barclays staff in Nottingham sent them for me and then spoke to India to make sure they had received the proof I said noway I am sending anything else if they cannot be bothered to log it against my account. she said then we might have to close your account I then ask her if she could lift the block on my account now she replied yes if you send me the proof tomorrow if not she would block the account again She pressed a button and the account was unlocked straight away and I have sent the proof this evening so lets hope that is the end of it but I very much doubt it

Well where should I start I have several accounts with Barclays one business account and several personal accounts and for the last two months I keep getting messages to verify my details which I have done three or four times spending up to 15 hours on the phone and once I called in to the main Barclays Branch in Nottingham and they contacted India and spoke to the people there who are dealing with the verifications the person in the Bank sent all the details they needed and my account was once again up and running after 24 hours But then today once again they have blocked my online account so that I cannot get on it at all phoned the bank this morning and they were a waste of time then this evening I went on the app on my phone and clicked on the contact us it came up with the help chat line then it ask me to send a message so I sat and sent a long message explaining everything then clicked send and to my surprise (not) it came up on my phone with the messaging service is not working at the moment please try again another time Then looking at their reviews there is a lot of Barclays customers having the same problems By the way how much did Barclays make last £----------------

The process to open a Barclay account is incredibly tedious. I have been in the processing of opening a business account since March. First application I provided everything and didnt hear back from my advisor for months when chasing. When I finally got a response it was to tell me they had closed my application for not replying to their email. When I attached my numerous emails and calls chasing as evidence they told me to start a new application. I start a new application, I provide all the details only to find out despite being barclays customer for 12 years they barely have any of my information. I understand the kyc checks but the level of incompetence is surreal, I have three barclays accounts yet they don't know my addresses.

Suspended my partners account and asked her to go to the branch with ID. She did this the following day and was told Allie up to 7 days for fraud team to open account again. Seven days passed and still not heard anything, each time chased are told call back “later” or go into the branch. When you go into the branch they tell you to call the number that then tell you to go into the branch. How any company can operate in such away is beyond me, especially a financial institution! Disgusting company

After 30 years with Barclays and an income of £200,000 a year, I used my overdraft facility for the first time and Barclays responce was to cut it. I temporarily don't meet the algorithm requirements - yes, that's when you need a bank! Well Barclays, as I sell my multi million pound business, the money that would have flowed through your coffers, will flow through a different bank.

Been with barclays for 5 years. But receiving tons of phonecalls for verifications. Have to call them and wait for hours and it is a charging phones. And after being compliant my account had been blocked 2x. Have to make another tons of paid phonecalls. Then suddenly they closed my account without notice. Called them again and costumer just informed me that there was bank error. I will have to wait for the investigation to finish then they will reopen my account. But unable to access my money. They said they will send me a cheque. But been a week now still I haven’t receive my money!!!😡 I am suppose to give them ZERO rate. Terrible bank.

Having banked with Barclays for 42 years , from a mere lad, they decided to close my account giving me one months notice. Once I got past the queue waiting to speak to a human, I asked for a balance and they couldnt give me a balance stating that the account was now closed. So what happened to my money? They then sid it was in a holding account and I should got my my nearest Barclays bank and withdraw my funds.....I live in NZ! The nearest Barclays Bank is 8000 miles away! Then the procedure to access my funds requires a lawyer to verify my identity which Barclays already know. Its just too hard to access MY money., so many hurdles in place. Here to help is their strap line.....I dont think so!

After over 50 years of trading with barclays, they decided that we had not complied with their wishes and completed a form telling them what the should have already know. Without warning they closed ONE of our business accounts. We cannot pay any bills, Direct debits cancelled not able to receive any payments and thousands of pounds missing. Infact we had filled in the form plus a phonecall from barclays with a query when they confirmed they were happy. That's how barclays treat loyal customers. Transfer to another bank before it happens to you

One of the most pathetic and unprofessional bank ever to deal with. Charges are high for monthly funds movement and extremely bad in communication and for may very important matters they don’t communicate. Close the account without communication and worst ever team to deal with. Not answering the calls from dedicated account team is norms for them. Not at all recommended Barclays for business account.

Barclays are scammers! Avoid these fraudsters and crooks like a plague! If you have an account with Barclays then close it down immediately before they close yours and falsely report you to all kinds of negative databases and also take your money from your account! They closed down my account and falsely reported me as late 7 months after they ended my overdraft without any prior warning’. Bad businesss! They also reported me to CiFas even though I stated that I did not want to file any claims! They completely ignored my wishes and reported a claim without my permission! Their complaints team lied to me many times on recorded calls stating to me that I would not be placed on CiFas! Stay away from these fraudsters if you don’t want more problems in your life! They will definitely do everything to spoil your life and take your money!

This isn't just bad customer service, this is Barclays bad customer service. Based on a layer of ignorance and indifference, mixed with the fruits of disdain and discourtesy and topped with the bitter taste of arrogance. I could think of more descriptive words but I don't think the website would allow it!

Barclays makes banking extremely difficult. They are very unhelpful, have a difficult system to navigate, provide inconsistent information and lack of assistance in branches and generally make it hard for you to access your funds. My advice- bank elsewhere. I bank with a number of establishments and Barclays is a nightmare in comparison.

If you want a bank account with the most inefficient clunky system with frontline staff who have no authority or common sense together with complete inertia, then open an account with Barclays.
