I was reluctant to write this review, but after weeks of failed attempts to get Beer52 to acknowledge and rectify my grievance I am giving in. Beer52 will happily take your money, but if there is a problem will do everything in their power not to return it. In my case, I ordered three expensive beers for Christmas. They delivered just two, with no explanation of why. I wrote to them immediately, and some 7 days later replied asking me for the details (though I had already given them.) A week went by and another email saying that the missing beer was out of stock, so they would refund me the one beer. The problem was, I had paid delivery and was not willing to do that for just two beers. This is a small amount, but rather than simply refund me the delivery, or offer to send me another beer, they offered me the chance to buy more discounted beer, or return the beers at my own expense. This is astonishingly poor customer service - all they had to was acknowledge that I was out of pocket and rectify it, but they quibbled over a few pounds, and told me I was in the wrong. They had the audacity to tell me that they are a small company and I should be understanding. But it was my money, not theirs! Additionally, they say they will reply within 3 days, but it's always 7. If you phone, they tell you to email. Their 'formal' complaints process involves them saying a manager said no. The beer is... ok. The mixed beer packs are heavily on the light side, when I would prefer more than 2 dark beers in a box of 12. There are better subscriptions out there. Come on Beer52 - you have a chance to provide the public with a new, good beer model, but you let yourselves down on worse customer service then the big breweries. Take a course in customer service - and don't quibble. You're embarrassing yourselves.

I am amazed, 99% of people on here have referred to Douglas, I have rang 3 times and spoke to 3 different people. Today promised a call back by 2 different people, none of them Douglas, one hour later, no call. I cancelled on 6th January, I have just received notification my delivery is on the way, why, when it has been cancelled. Got little or no sense out of Sam, who promised to ring back, not been done. I will try another time in a minute, to ensure future orders are cancelled, together with a refund of the last payment as the order was cancelled after the first paid delivery. It is very odd that the "Fails" towards the end of the call, it has done it twice, very peculiar. I have viewed 120 comments on here and am staggered that I am the only one that has had issues, perhaps there is an agenda that I am not seeing.

Really disappointed. I was attracted by the free trial and have set up a subscription. Money has been taken from me twice now, and not a single bottle of beer arrived. The phone line is constantly engaged or on a long queue. No communications telling me what is going on :-(

Absolutely terrible. First attempt, box damaged with courier, never arrived. All the beers I wanted went out of stock refunded after 3 weeks. Second attempt, box damaged at courier, never arrived... Waiting to hear re refund. I'm not having this it's the couriers fault, clearly they (the courier) or your packing isn't adequate. You know this but haven't changed. I think Beer 52 are possibly a money laundering outfit, do you even have any beers?? OK, maybe not, just very frustrating.

The service was good as were most of the beers although getting through to you by telephone was extremely difficult.

Beer 52 DO NOT answer the telephone . The only option is to cancel the direct debit! The beer is just ok but is far too expensive for what it is !!!!

If you join you cant cancel or they make it very difficult for you to still cant get through been trying for the last two weeks - scam if you ask me - also the beer is cheap Polish ones. £3.62 for a small beer is steep

The beers weren’t anything special, the idea of beers delivered to your door great, but when you need to cancel your subscription, problems begin, it’s not that easy. First you answer a lot of questions and pop ups then your told to phone them to cancel. Then you get stuck on answer phone for over 10 minutes at a time. Not good customer service.

Beer52 do not let you cancel online. You have to call them and not only they do not answer the phone but they keep on taking your money. Be aware that this is not a direct debit that you can cancel rather you have provided them them your debit card details and allowed them to take money from your account. I guess the easy way is to call the bank and ask them to stop any payments to them. These guys should be shut down.

Ignore the positive reviews, they must be fake!! It is impossible to cancel your subscription as they never answer the phone! Avoid at all costs

I keep trying to cancel my subscription but every time I email then about this I get no answer. When I phone the line is always busy or they disconnect.

This Company offers no way to cancel their subscription box. They don't answer e-mails or phones. I would not recommend them at all. Be warned, They actively scour review sights and flag negative reviews for deletion. They also have a suspicious amount of 5 star reviews from new users to combat the negativity. I have reported them for fraud.

Impossible to cancel once signed up. Easy to signup on line but they insist you cancel buy phone which is impossible to get through. I have had to have my credit card company block future payments to Beer 52 !! I would have bought future cases from them but not after this experience. I will buy from a reputable local retailer in future.

I ordered from BEER52 via Wowcher and have been very disappointed with their service. I was promised 2 sets of hampers paying 2 lots of postage. As yet I am still waiting for them to arrive!!! I can’t get through on the phone and only get generic emails back in reply to emails I’ve sent. £40 may not seem a lot to lose but as a pensioner I cannot afford to purchase 2 more gifts which is very upsetting.

I have ordered a trial case with the option to cancel. However you have to ring to cancel, which is only fine if the phones are answered (15 minutes in a queue). So at the moment, the trial delivery is late, and I can not cancel the next delivery.
