Not my type of beer but dead easy to cancel subscription with Douglas. Great idea though. Good luck.

I cancelled my account, the person who took my call was very good, polite and helpful. I give his customer service 5 stars. However, regarding beer52 and it's business practices around gifts and cancellations I think they could do a lot better. I was given a three-month subscription as a birthday gift. I was told I not able to simply use the three-month subscription, I was informed I would have to set up the subscription and cancel at the end of the term. I then tried to cancel via the website, you cannot, you either have to call or email/dm them. I waited on calling waiting for nearly 10min. It is clear why they have this cancellation strategy, it is a ploy to make it difficult to cancel. It is also very difficult to find on the site the information required to understand how to cancel. Regarding the beers, they are nice enough, however, in my last batch I received 3 stouts, really not good! I would not use beer52 again, I do not like their business practices and quite frankly I find them quite expensive.

Subscription box did not arrive and neither replacement nor a refund is available. FYI Hermes are used as their delivering service which may explain issues. I have now cancelled my subscription and gone with another beer subscription provider. When they want your money their customer service is very good, but when you are owed it is appalling.

Shocking service, still haven’t refunded me and are claiming not to be able to find the phone call from when I rang to cancel, even after have given them exact dates. Avoid!!

Appalling customer service. Cancelled my subscription over the phone, assumed all was done. But then earlier this month a box arrives and id been charged for it. Emailed straight away and after 2 weeks worth of forward and backward emails they claim not be able to find the phonecall so won’t refund. After speaking to others it seems it isn’t the first time they’ve used this excuse. Avoid

It's ridiculous that you can't cancel through the website. I should not have to spend time and money calling just to give the chance to do the hard sell. The chap I spoke to was nice enough and did what was asked of him, presumably not his fault that the process is made this difficult on purpose. I was planning to still buy beers after cancelling but because of the obstacles placed in the way of a straightforward cancellation I have lost trust and will look elsewhere.

I like a good beer but! this beer is not for my taste. The chap that I spoke to seemed very nice, but he didn't try to twist my arm to make me stay

Beware those who try this company out and then decide to cancel. You will receive constant emails from a "James" at Beer52 telling you that you haven't finished signing up with them. It may put you off your guard, making you think that it's true... Until £24 disappears from your bank account! And don't bother complaining...it will get you nowhere!!

Super bad customer service. Ordered their discounted starter box, good product but not for me. Tried to cancel but semi impossible and you have to call them which was also painful. Sent an email to cancel to them, guess what some more arrived charged at full price. I emailed them and had very little help there either. Girl named Annabel I think didn’t want to believe/admit I’d cancelled despite sending her a copy of the cancellation email. The company policy is we will charge you indefinitely unless you send us a signed in blood scroll, delivered by a golden eagle. Very Poor service Indeed.

I received a Beer52 gift card and when I placed an order found that I had limited choice of ales so contacted the company to ask to be able to choose my order . They were unable to do this. As a promotional offer I then received a discount on my next order but again was limited in what I could request. At this point I made contact with the company to chat about what I could do to order beer of my choosing but found the lack of help frustrating and felt a certain degree of disinterest from staff to help or to receive feedback. I have cancelled my membership as a result and have came away with the impression that the firm is more interested in marketing and sales than customer service.

Beer52 makes it very very dificult to cancel your subscription DON'T SUB AVOID AT ALL COSTS DON'T SUPPORT PREDATORY BUISNESS MODELS. also they definetly pay for reviews on these sites just awful

Shocking customer service. Avoid avoid avoid! Delivered a box outside of my house, without permission, while I was away on holiday. Didn't leave box with a neighbor or take back to deport like most delivery companies would do, just left on the door step. This lead to it being severely damaged in the sun during a heatwave and then the subsequent rain. Expected this to be a simple issue to resolve on my return home, however Beer52 took no responsibility for this, and blamed me for not contacting them to tell them I would be away. No notice of this requirement is given when signing up or on the website at the moment. I never gave permission for a delivery to be left outside my house but apparently they consider this acceptable practice and any damage from the second it reaches your doorstep is your fault. Customer service also very slow. Takes at least 4 days per reply to an email and answers change depending on who their end replies. At one stage I was told they would replace my box and then on asking how to arrange it that offer was swiftly changed and withdrawn. If you sign up beware that if something goes wrong, they will blame you and not actually sort out the problem. Very disappointing as could potentially have been a long term enjoyable subscription. I don't usually leave bad reviews online, but genuinely shocked at how bad this customer service response was! In summary - avoid avoid avoid!!!!!

I cancelled in June, received written email confirmation of the cancellation, yet the last two months I've been charged and received the boxes. I contacted them in July after the first one and sent multiple emails and calls were ignored. Now they are offering a good will gesture refund of £5 or else I have to pay for the return of the boxes and then request a refund! Madness!

Delivery never arrived. Was charged for beer that was possibly left in the street. Why didn't the couriers simply ring the doorbell? I have a ring system so know when there is a delivery. Beer has disappeared. Very poor service

After cancelling my subscription, going through loads of internet pages and then having to ring I received an email saying "Wohoo your beer is on it's way". I phoned up immediately to say I had cancelled but was told because I can't prove i called, the subscription was still active. Why is the onus on the customer to prove they phoned rather than on the company to prove they didn't? They wanted me to provide a screen shot of the number dialed from my phone, as my number is hidden their end so they can't see it. But my records don't go back that far. Why on earth can't Beer52 take an email or online cancellation? So we, the cherished customer, have a record of the cancellation. It seems to me that they are behaving underhandedly to keep their subscriptions. My advice to potential customers is don't sign up unless you are willing to sign up for the rest of your life!
