The course seems adequate, being we have to coastlines east and west and everything in between. The course seems to cover a broad spectrum relating to all areas. That being said I felt the course was acceptable.

A very easy, simple and to-the-point informative course. Common sense put into "smart sense" and practical use rather than second-nature type attitude. You think you know it all because you paddled a canoe once 20 years ago??...think again!!

It was a vigorous week. I read the notice about not telling me what I got wrong. However that makes it difficult to correct mistakes. I'm still wondering about some answers and can't remember if some were right or not.

It was nice that the questions on the quizzes were more difficult than the actual test at the end.

Very good.

If questions are answered incorrectly in the quiz, tell people where they were wrong so they can learn better. The questions on the second time taking the quiz are not the same, so why not? They say learning from your mistakes is the best way to learn.

Thought I was initially writing the exam with the mandatory timed lessons. Super frustrated to find out that I still had to write an exam after completing hours of reading and answering questions with a minimum 80%.

Some of the content was too detailed. The hypothermia section, a medic needs to know the levels, not a boater. A boater needs to know what to do to help. Most of the content was reverent.

The course was very good with repetition and review of key concepts that allow absorption. I would like to see a review of incorrect questions after each module test in order to reinforce areas of weakness (wrong answers). I recommend printing key sections such as sound signals, navigation lights, etc. Printable charts would be helpful for the boating flags and signs sections as well. Everyone should buy the handbook as an ongoing reference. One should make notes as they go through the sections as reference will be required to write the section tests and learn the information so that boaters remember important things while on the water.

I enjoyed the illustrations and videos and thought that they broke up the course well. I would suggest a change of voice throughout to reduce monotony. The timing of the videos did not match the actual videos, which prevented one from moving to the next lesson/frame and elongated the length of the course unnecessarily. Also, an option to move forward and challenge the quiz would have been welcomed. In the event of, for instance, a spouse taking the test and having gone through the course already with the other partner. In that case it would have been very nice to challenge the test and save a lot of time repeating that which is already known. Overall, a lot of information, well presented.

It is an overload of so much information that I will never need to use. The modules are so long and then the quizzes have so many questions that are just worded to trick you up or they are situations that are not applicable to most boaters out there. Most of this was a complete waste of my time and effort.

I would recommend this course for anyone seeking basic boater information. The only shortcoming was not being able to see questions answered incorrectly, and the appropriate answers.

It would be helpful if you could go back to videos to check information and then continue taking the test

Most of the content was very informative and useful. I don't really think how to clean lifejackets is a necessary requirements for your boat license but that's just my opinion. Otherwise the video graphics and explanations were great.

I found it very long. Then after taking all the quizes and thought I was done find out there is still a test after. I wasn't very happy to waste the day away on a nice sunny day.

The course was very informative, but the timers set for each section when going through the modules was annoying for people who read and retain information at a quicker rate.

Modules take longer than estimated (way longer than 3 hours).Found some questions on exam were not covered by modules. Glad it is open book so you can look up answers, but you learn doing that way too.
