I enjoyed the illustrations and videos and thought that they broke up the course well. I would suggest a change of voice throughout to reduce monotony. The timing of the videos did not match the actual videos, which prevented one from moving to the next lesson/frame and elongated the length of the course unnecessarily. Also, an option to move forward and challenge the quiz would have been welcomed. In the event of, for instance, a spouse taking the test and having gone through the course already with the other partner. In that case it would have been very nice to challenge the test and save a lot of time repeating that which is already known. Overall, a lot of information, well presented.

It is an overload of so much information that I will never need to use. The modules are so long and then the quizzes have so many questions that are just worded to trick you up or they are situations that are not applicable to most boaters out there. Most of this was a complete waste of my time and effort.

I would recommend this course for anyone seeking basic boater information. The only shortcoming was not being able to see questions answered incorrectly, and the appropriate answers.

It would be helpful if you could go back to videos to check information and then continue taking the test

Most of the content was very informative and useful. I don't really think how to clean lifejackets is a necessary requirements for your boat license but that's just my opinion. Otherwise the video graphics and explanations were great.

I found it very long. Then after taking all the quizes and thought I was done find out there is still a test after. I wasn't very happy to waste the day away on a nice sunny day.

The course was very informative, but the timers set for each section when going through the modules was annoying for people who read and retain information at a quicker rate.

Modules take longer than estimated (way longer than 3 hours).Found some questions on exam were not covered by modules. Glad it is open book so you can look up answers, but you learn doing that way too.

Packed with information, and the videos were nice. Every now and then the videos would glitch out and not play even when opening them in a new tab, but I think that was my computer. Overall, everything was great and taught me a lot.

I'm not a big fan of the timed pages as I can read faster than the time allotted. Also it would be helpful to be able to review which questions you got wrong.

Easy course to learn from, some modules are scattered could be better organized. Changing background colours and increased font would make reading easier Quiz section is difficult to read. Online chat for help is excellent. I would recommend this program

I think it is a very in depth review, I probably won’t need 30% of the things I learnt, perhaps If it was a more divided review for the different types of vessel people want to drive, more like the division of types of vehicles in Transport Canada testing, it might be more useful! And I think it is important to see your wrong answers so you can learn from them, throughout the sections and at the end, I was disappointed by that.

The course is way too long. Slim it down abit or make it into two groups. I just have a small fishing boat it was to much unneeded information. But for bigger boats you had the right content.

I really enjoyed the BoatSmart course. Very informative and learned a lot. Good course material and presentation. Challenging and effective module quizzes to help prepare for the exam. The one thing that would have been helpful to me is to see what quiz and exam questions I answered incorrectly. At this point, I’m still not 100% sure which ones I answered incorrectly. Regards, Jim

I learnt a lot I didn't know, so it was informative. It was very long and some information was repetitive. I was surprised that one of the suggestions was to use a hand gun. I didn't think that was legal in Canada. Can't wait to get in the boat!
