“My experience with Brightside has been great. My counselor was the very best. I now have a psychiatrist who prescribed a new antidepressant. I was suicidal when I contacted Brightside & I am feeling much better & more positive about my life.”
“Brightside is so easy and accessible. It is so easy to schedule, meet with, and speak with my providers. If it weren’t for this ease I probably would not even get the care I needed. I’m so grateful to have met my therapist Patricia Jones, who is making my life better from the other side of the country. Thank you”
“I have a lot of hesitance about sharing personal mental health information on the bright side app, I would need an absolute guarantee from brightside that my personal information is and will always remain confidential, will not ever be shared to artificial intelligence learning platforms, and will be respected as my own personal medical information. I also don't feel comfortable that any form of artificial intelligence is utilized in a mental healthcare setting. It doesn't feel safe or private to me.
As a society we are losing our very sacred right to privacy in many situations. Losing the right to privacy over our personal lives, and to some extent losing our right to be forgotten.
I would feel more confident if brightside made that unequivocally clear without any caveats.
Until then, I won't be participating in check-ins or journaling exercises through the app.
I also found it very difficult to get help when a prescription was not called in, I ended up going 3 days without my medication. I've been on mild antidepressants for 30 years and have never had so many issues getting a refill. And I've never been without my medication due to a prescription not being called in correctly or filled.”
“Doesn’t give you the ability to really look for providers based off of their style or speciality. Also, don’t give any options for in-person visits for those who struggle with virtual options. I like the flexibility, but I don’t feel this would work for everyone. Especially those new to therapy or someone who isn’t good with technology.”
“I do not have depression. I have anxiety and panic attacks. I keep getting prescribed things to help with the physical symptoms and it works for that, but I've had no relief mentally. Still having panic attacks daily. I guess because I refuse to try meds that take 6 weeks to work options are limited or something.”
