Spent a week constantly ringing to find out what happened to be left in limbo. 5-6 phone calls later feeling very frustrated and promised twice that a case manager would ring me I got my money refunded at my constant request. I really feel for the customer service with what they have to deal with. Terrible company!! Run a mile. Pay a little bit extra for better service.”

“Bought a monitor online (Lenovo ThinkVision) from Buyitdirect which was delivered within days. This is where the bang stops. The webcam was faulty. Asked for the unit to be picked up and it only took their courier "service" x3 attempts to actually do so, as they couldn't locate an address in W1 (sic !)... 2 weeks later and without even consulting me, they just sent me a refund (- shipping cost) when I had clearly asked them to fix the issue and ship back the unit. Pathetic from start to finish.”

“Absolutely awful company. I purchased an air con unit online and paid next day delivery. Delivery was taken no problems, however, after unpacking, noticed a really long crack underneath the unit which travelled up to the side. If used, water gathered would have dripped everywhere. Called Customer Services who arranged a replacement to be delivered the next day and collection of the fault. DPD delivered as stated, but refused collection of original as not on their worksheet. Prepared new item for use, only to switch on and hear a horrid revving noise, no air coming from the system, and smoke coming from the back. Needless to say, by this point was absolutely livid. Tried to call Customer Services, was on hold for over 45 minutes, to then be greeted by a message advising that their lines were now closed!!!!! The next morning called and spoke to a very rude agent who advised that there was nothing she could do but arrange collection of both faulty units the same day, but a replacement wouldn't be sent out until the following day!!!! I escalated my call and had to wait 2 hours to speak to a Case Manager. She advised the same, but by this morning, I was completely exhausted and had given up. Note - also heavily pregnant. I explained that I had lost faith and wanted a refund instead. She advised that the refund couldn't be arranged until both units were collected... and arranged for DPD to collect. DPD did not turn up. The next day, called again, after waiting in a queue for 40 minutes, finally spoke to someone who sounded like they had no idea what they were doing. Kept putting me on hold and saying, 'just looking into this'. He advised that the collection wouldn't be until the next day!!! After I refused to accept this date, he miraculously managed to arrange collection for the same day, but I would have to wait until DPD collect before a refund is arranged. I explained that I am heavily pregnant therefore not able to lift item back in the box - therefore DPD would need to do that themselves. He didn't seem fussed about what I was saying at all. In process of writing a complaint to Head of Customers Services and Trading Standards. Waiting for collection today - let's see what happens! Awful service and awful company. Have now purchased an air con unit from Homebase, with no issues whatsoever. AVOID company at all costs”
“I purchased a monitor from BuyItDirect on eBay, which was supposed to be delivered the following day.
I was somewhat surprised to receive a missed delivery email from DPD given that I was in the office all day, along with several other people, including the receptionist.
I asked BuyItDirect how they had managed to "miss me" and they ignored the question and just rescheduled the delivery for another day. The email from DPD confirming this had completely the wrong address on it (they seemed to have just made one up rather than using what was provided!), so I replied and confirmed the correct address from the order.
Instead of having DPD correct the address, BuyItDirect just recalled the package & shipped a second one (unnecessarily adding further delay), but somehow BuyItDirect also sent this new package to the same, completely made up address!
In the end I had to get DPD to correct the address myself in order to get it delivered, four days later.
Even after the package was delivered, the incompetent BuyItDirect "customer service" staff were failing to understand the problem and kept telling me that the address looked fine.
Just to add insult to injury, the VAT invoice that BuyItDirect provided was also for the wrong amount. When I pointed this out, they initially argued that it was for the right amount, despite the fact that it obviously wasn't.
After I had provided a screenshot from eBay in order to demonstrate this, they then refused to correct the invoice saying that they can't change them once issued.
It was only when I pointed out that they are legally required to provide an accurate VAT invoice and that I would report it to HMRC that they changed their mind and managed to correct it.
All in all, it was an absolutely dreadful experience from start to finish and I certainly wouldn't buy anything from BuyItDirect Group or any of their brands (Laptops Direct, Servers Direct, Appliances Direct, Drones Direct, Furniture123, Better Bathrooms, Outdoor Living/Jacuzzi Direct) ever again.”
“Super fast delivery to Ireland and great prices. Unfortunately, a mirror we bought arrived broken. The matter was dealt with immediately and we got our refund within 3 day with no questions asked. Brilliant customer service. The other items we bought were perfect.”
“I purchased several products, due to the delays in shipping, I cancelled one item in the website to source it locally. Later, I got an email informing the website was not up-to-date and all items were shipped at the moment of my cancellation therefore I should wait for the delivery then accept all items but the one cancelled to get a refund for it.
When the items arrived, I accepted and signed for all items with the exception of the one cancelled (provided return number) as instructed by BuyitDirect then emailed customer service right away to keep them informed getting a reply after the returned item arrived I would get a refund.
After several weeks, I followed up on the refund, I was informed no refund was going to take place as according to their records I accepted the delivery for all items. After lots of emails / phone calls BuyitDirect was unable to resolve then denied my refund. I had to go myself back to the shipping company to track the individual that did the delivery to prove the delivery never took place then write a letter with evidence back to BuyitDirect and the consumer protection agency. After all this dilemma, I finally got a refund with not even an apology for all the ordeal and basically accusing me of being a thief. Never again thanks,”
