Only one thing was not acceptable and that was the waste of resources use to pack the item I ordered. It was a small BlackRapid FastenR-T1 (For use with Manfrotto RC2 plates). Made of metal and the size of couple of one pound coins, it could quite easily have been put in a standard envelope. Instead it was packed in layers of bubble wrap inside a box. Then that box was packed inside another large box with airbag packing inside. Not only is this a waste of resources and money it means that I then have to get rid of all the unnecessary packaging.

It took an eternity to turn up and the support staff were vague when I enquired about the purchase status.

Delivery dates came and went without my article being delivered and although not in your control there seemed an attitude of" what do you expect me to do about it"which I found disappointing. When I mentioned that I may cancel the order the response I got was"that's fair enough" which I felt was wrong

Your shop is literally a counter to pick up goods and then leave. No opportunity to browse, chat to somebody or get advice. I might as well have ordered online from any where. On entering your shop all I saw was a line of people standing waiting for the next cashier. Not welcoming and definitely not professional.

I brought a camera in for a service on a Friday. I was told if it was to be sent to Nikkon for a full service it would take 7-10days. On Monday the camera was delivered by Fedex to my house, having been sent there from the store rather than being sent to Nikkon. I took it back in and that was the last I saw of the camera for 6 weeks. Apparently it takes 7-10 days to service once they get round to assessing it, which can take 5 weeks. None of this was made clear when I dropped it in. All in all, a bit of shambles.

Disgraceful postage charges. I bought 2x£20 gift vouchers for my dad and got charged £7.99 postage. A first class stamp costs 64 pence! Totally unjustifiable. When I emailed to query this I got no help whatsoever. Their customer care is a joke and Andrew Shirley does not know that Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom. Edit: After seeing my original review, Calumet have refunded my postage charge in full. Satisfactory outcome.

I ordered a camera carrying strap and checked with the store how to get to them. Was given directions, drove a 40 mile return journey only to discover their road was closed and there was no other vacant parking nearby so had to return home. Rang and let them know this and they sent it by post which worked well, but was little compensation for the time and cost of making the journey. Then discovered that I could have bought it for less elsewhere so provided evidence about this and was told the shop would re-imburse me for the difference, but this has not yet happened. Then last week had a phone call from the store to say I had ordered a strap and it was now in stock and that I should collect it!! But they had already sent it to me several weeks earlier. So in summary, a wasted journey, no return of the difference in price and for some reason a repeat order I had not arranged. Not a very good shop window for your firm. Gordon Wilcock

I've had poor service from Calumet that seems to be getting worse on an ongoing basis. In a nutshell: Incorrect orders delivered multiple times, unable to deliver items by courier on a Saturday- despite the multitude of transport available in London. Corporate sales are terrible, had to re-iterate and chase points several times to enable a sale, then to find items delivered are wrong, and even have extra items not on order. Corporate customer service via Anita/ Drummond Street very poor. Also very difficult to get through on phones now- in general it feels like the whole company is slipping....sorry harsh but fair!

Calumet has the option to choose a different shipping address from the billing stated on PayPal for international orders. The store refused to ship my order to my shipping address and made unreasonable security demands in unsecure enviroments (upload id via email) eventhough i'm a verified member with a confirmed address on PayPal since 2007 .Why choose paypal anyway ?This option supposed to make the customer's life easier and save my time as i've completed all these steps through it's verification process, why should i waste my time so many days and upload my personal id on a unknown department with unknown security enviroment ?It took about a dozen of emails to respond after i risked sending them my personal id information attached through email .So after that, they firstly refused to send my order and after several emails ,they decided either to cancel the order or to send the parcel to my billing address which was quite inconvenient. It's 2016 and Calumet Stores ,as a big official retailer, they should have known that it's safe to ship items to a different address than the one stated on paypal, unless you fill in the address on the order details .Otherwise calumet should change their policies and website options and save the clients' time and money. I got a confirmation from a PayPal assistant about that issue ,that it was safe for Calumet to send the order to my shipping address as it was stated on the order details. Before that mess ,that took around 7 days,i asked for a very small discount which was refused .I paid 42GBP for shipping via DPD ,a very poor service .My parcel made a road trip around Europe before finally got after 7 bussiness days to the final destination. For such high amount of money spent for a camera ,with no discount and high shipping rates, they should have used UPS or DHL ,not a DPD road trip .There are small details that make the difference from being an average or an exceptional store .

Oh dear, where do I start. Incompetent stock control is the main issue, followed by very poor communication. To date, I have paid in full for items I have not received, have no idea when I'm going to receive them and don't even know if I'm going to receive them. Overall an extremely disappointing first experience. If the camera body hadn't arrived on time (albeit with no knowledge it was coming) I would have awarded only 1 star.

I was quoted the wrong price, I double checked when quoted clearly asking does this include vat? I was told yes. The lens was in for repair and they repaired it but after my friend picked it up, he quickly realised the repairers had scratched the glass. I am more angry about the quotation as I stupidly paid £324 when I was quoted £270, because the lens was for a friend I didn't want to delay proceedings any further but then when I find out the repairers have scratched the glass, this just fuelled the fire. Calumet have emailed me asking what my opinion is... I'm not happy and I would like a response from management please, my number is 07517534017. Aaron

The person I spoke to on the phone was abrupt and unhelpful. I rang up to see if i could order a backdrop for next day delivery as i ran out suddenly and desperately needed it for my photoshoots at the weekend. The man said that was fine and it would arrive next day(Friday), I asked several times are you sure it will arrive tomorrow and he said yes. I stayed in for the whole day waiting for the delivery and it never arrived, I had to cancel all my shoots for that weekend and lost out on a huge amount of money. Monday came and it still hadn't arrived, I was so angry. I emailed and it finally arrived on Tuesday afternoon.

I was promised delivery of my order on four failed occasions before it eventually turned up on the fifth. However, the redeeming factor was your sales assistant Jess in Bristol who sold me the goods. She was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. Next time, if you can sort the delivery side of things out then I am sure I will give you five star ratings.

For the second time I had to come back to the store and waste my time due to an error made by the salesperson. This time they have written wrong serial number in the invoice, delaying my cashback claim. I will need to get a second corrected invoice to be able to complete my cashback claim. The first time I bought a tripod, and when I came home I realised it was the wrong one (same brand but different models). I didn't notice before because they had the same price. Also had to go back to the store. I'm very busy with work and having to make two trips to the store for each buy is pretty annoying.

Did not deliver next day as promised. FedEx did not deliver as they said they had tried to. Someone in all day and no card left. Calumet customer service very helpful and quick to reply but did not deliver the goods, literally.

The main attraction to purchase from Calumet was the interest free credit they offered at the time. The whole process could be improved. Firstly, I don't think the instructions are clear enough from the start. After filling out the form, I was left wondering what happens next? I have not filled out the interest free application yet! I waited a while to see if I would get a further email but never did. I phone Calumet who in-turn called the finance company to resend the link. The form took about 2 minutes to complete and to be approved which was very quick. As this was purchased on a Friday but with finance, I wasn't sure when I would receive my product so I emailed them to make sure someone could take delivery! I waited a couple of days with no response. The item arrived on the Tuesday which I was brilliant but why no tracking no? For an expensive purchase, this should be a must! Even one paragraph to explain the process would be nice! So, after completing the form, I never heard back from them until after I received my item and only in reply to my original email. No dispatch information, no estimated delivery, no tracking, nothing.

I read on the website and was told by a salesman that the Price Promise was active. When I ordered a full set of Canon inks I mentioned that they were cheaper from a genuine seller on EBay and was told that they did not enact the price promise as the items may be 'GREY IMPORTS'. I was using a voucher which would have covered the lesser cost but had to pay £12 to get my order. My 2nd but last order.

I placed an order for a dslr camera, when it didn't arrive (next working day delivery) called Calumet and was told the camera was out of stock and they did not know when they would restock. I sent proof that it was in stock when i placed my order yet nothing could be done for me. I sold my previous camera and so I was left without a camera. I am a photographer. I had to borrow. Not impressed.

I cancelled my purchase of a Nikon D5 as the customer service was truly dreadful. The company could not give me a delivery date or even tell me where I was on the queue. I paid in full, waited over 6 weeks and then gave up. So much for your systems, staff and company communication skills....
