I use Calumet for perhaps half the photographic gear I buy, usually the Bristol branch, but occasionally London branches too. The service is efficient and friendly and although I'm usually clear on what I want when I walk in the staff are knowledgable and enthusiastic. Only downside is that they don't have more specialist items in stock to take away at Bristol but as they can get them there in a couple of days that's only a problem in an emergency.

Very helpful staff, extremely knowledgable. Canon charger did not work, but was given an immediate refund. Bought a very expensive real Canon charger from Canon at 5 times the price of the Calumet cost.

You store could be so much more hands on and attractive, it's almost like a trade warehouse. Your staff are excellent!!

The head I bought for my tripod wasn't what I thought it was. It doesn't do portrAit. It was scratched and without a cover. I have also scratched it now so can't return it. It's a good head but perhaps I should have explained a bit more. Will be on eBay soon I think.

I bought a XF100 video camera from Calumet in 2013 and found the price very Competitive compared to what was available to me in and around Dublin. I found information and service all good with Calumet staff and would consider buying from them again.

I had a great time, to buy on calumet photographic. The safety officer to communicate with customers, it is prepared, professional, helpful and very polite. The only slight negative is that some things just can not be her via email, but only over the phone. And for people like me who buy from Italy, is more complicated and expensive to communicate by phone. I recommend everyone to buy on calumet photographic.

I purchased a camera back adaptor to mount a Hasselblad V-fit digital back on a view camera as a "Buy it Now" transaction from an ebay listing. The purchase was very straight forward, the item arrived very quickly, it was very well packed and exactly as described in the listing. Why not 5 stars then? You haven't completed the transaction by leaving feedback. That is just bad manners!

Worked like clockwork. I ordered it on-line and it arrived well packaged two days later. A simple solution and saved a schlep into town.

The staff were very helpful but not good listeners. More Interested in selling more items than required without customer input/requirements.

I was looking for a basic introduction into using my new camera and thought this would be aimed at higher level than I needed. I was wrong. The seminar was pitched at exactly the right level and allowed me to absorb useful information and additionally gave me an insight into the camera itself, the use of the menus, and crucially moving off the auto settings and all without going into information overload. The surroundings were comfortable with tea, coffee and biscuits available which led to a relaxed atmosphere and was conducive to learning. The powerpoint presentation is aimed at Nikon however the course tutor was quick to give the Canon equivalent either verbally or by coming over to physically show you the routes through, it was not an issue and in some respects enhanced the experience. There was a 20 minute delay in starting the seminar as they had an issue getting the proxima to work through the laptop , this could have and should have been sorted prior to the seminar but eventually the issue was sorted and the lost time was added on at the end so there was no loss in course time {it just made me slightly late for an appointment}. Overall this was worth the money and the time as it opens up new avenues which appear to the leyman as difficult and in reality they are not, The seminar doesn't make an expert it does however give you meaningful tips and guides for you to go out an practice... well worth it it my view.

Bought a tripod recently. Thought a fastener was missing and called the customer-service dept. No fun. No action followed. Next wrote an e.mail. possibly to a wrong department, for again, nothing happenend. Third time, after months, I contacted the nearest Calumet-store (Manchester), told them about the problem I thought I had. The person advised me to visit the shop, for they would possibly have the missing item somewhere among the returned goods. I could not do the visit right then. At last I called Manchester again and spoke for the first time with a person not in a hurry. And what was the result? Because of his knowledge, interest and the time he took to get to the bottom of the matter, he found that there was nothing missing but that I had not recognised how to utilize a part actually attached to the tripod. So Calumet: A) do enclose a simple but clear drawing on how to use things, even though things seem clear enough to yourselves and B) get persons to listen and be inquisive when talking to customers on the phone. It will help save time, money, nerves and.... your Reputation!

I always feel comfortable when I visit Calumet that they truly understand my requirements, and the products that they are selling - whilst no one has ever come across as a "salesman". They really do have good knowledge of the equipment they sell. And I have never felt that when I have asked for advice I have been offered anything other than the right product for me (no trying to sell the most expensive one in the shop, or the one that pays the most commission!). They always have the time to spend with their customers; ok, this can on occasion be frustrating when you are waiting to be served and feel the guy in front is just asking too many questions. But then when it's your turn ....... it's different! I'm a regular visitor, and will continue to be so.

Perhaps a more organised display of what's available. Occassional really good offers. More tie-ins with manufacturers for offers, more demostrations of equipment.
