“ATM deposits at norwood branch never work so they can charge you more inside the bank.
On the one day a week they do work the queue is so long it would take over an hour to make a deposit. Staff couldn’t care less when complaining about their lack of maintenance.”
“Capitec Buss, block your account, and even when they receive the Fica documents as requested, to get the account operating again takes for ages. Worst decission ever made to make use of them. The Buss section should go and learn from the normal Capitec.”
“My internet banking was hacked and the smses weren't coming through that money was going out my account. Reported to fraud department, still waiting 8 months later for Capitec to give an update and give me my money back. The tracking number doesn't even exist anymore for me to track it. Disgusting service and over 10 grand gone.”
“I deposited 20K to a Capitec ATM on Saturday. While counting the cash it went out of order. I've been waiting for the investigation since then. Its festive season and I'm down 20 grand!!! Give me my money and close my account while you're at it.”

“Capitec bank is useless shame. I requested a proof of payment for a payment that doesn’t appear on my statement but I used their app,I told them I need it as soon as possible. I was promised it will be sent to me after 72 hours, after 72 hours still the was nothing. I went to the branch after 7 days the consultant told me she requested it and promised to send it the very same day and she didn’t. Now I have to go back again just for a proof of payment, capitec has poor client service.”

“I am utterly disappointed with Capitec, since last month I have Dropbox deducting money from my Acc and when I called they said they can’t reverse the money. Now I keep losing R430 from this. Even the app doesn’t have the option to report fraud. Capitec system is poor!!”
“Capitec should sort out the banking app, I bought electricity once only to receive 2 tokens and charged twice. Then after contacting Capitec I was informed that they are not able to reverse it even though it is the Capitec app that caused the problem. Capitec ur banking app is a mess!!
I was informed by an agent to contact the municipality, but to make matters even worse now I am able to log into the Capitec app but when trying to view the tokens that the app purchased twice on my behalf it just freezes and I cant get the token numbers to try and sort out the mess the app caused. The only thing Capitec says is "Sorry for the inconvenience" , but you know what other debit orders don't understand that the Capitec app malfunctioned and there is not enough money now. Why am I the one to sort out the mess the app caused???”
“I am not happy because most ATM'S outside the branch do not have a deposit option and it's hard to deposit if the branch or the shopping malls are closed because we only access the depositing machines at the branch or atm inside a mall. It's a hustle to deposit especially in the evening.”
“Capitec did not make me happy at all
On the 3rd of October I emailed the Forensic dep for Fraud at Capitec to inform them of scam payment made and to reverse the payments. I got an incident nr only to find out a day later that this so called incident nr does not exist. They only gave me another incident nr on the 10th. I have emails to prove this. I opened criminal case at Police as requested. To date I have not received ANY feedback from Capitec and want to know WHY was I given an incident nr that never existed. I have proof of that on email.”
“I’m so annoyed with this bank. I transferred money to wrong person and I called immediately, and they said they can’t help me because I am the one who transferred the money.
After that they keep on the line to contact the person and come back to me to say, oh we can’t reverse the payment because it’s his account.
Not continuing with this bank and I suggest people watch out for their money cz this bank has no interest in its clients.

“I reported a fraud incident 30 mintutes after a made the deposit. I was told by the consultant that I can only open a case if the money is still available. Whilst holding on the line , the consultant called the third party bank to advise them of the incident. I was told that the money is available and the account has been frozen. 3 Months later I was advised that the money has been withdrawn within a period of two days. How is this possible if I reported 30minutes after the incident?
Absolutely dismal service.I am going to escalate this matter.”

“Last night (22/09/23) my husband tried to deposit money to me and the atm swallowed the money…the next day he went into the bank for assistance ….an ATM dispute was lodged at 10:39am and was told an investigation was going to take place…then at 12:29 to my surprise the money was in my account. Thank you Capitec, truly speaking I was not expecting them to be this fast because I always see people’s reviews about their investigations going nowhere.”
