CarJet will connect you with Goldcar. When you reach an issue with Goldcar, they will send you to CarJet. CarJet will simply ignore you. One shows no accountability, the other simply ignores you.
My card was rejected at the Goldcar car desk even though I had the correct card and amount to navigate the complex and far from transparent set of rules lay down by both CarJet and Goldcar.
After initially explaining my issue and being ignored by CarJet, I posted a review in the hope CarJet would engage. They did, to ask me to repeat my issue, and then disappeared again. CarJet will show some form of support in public. On a one on one basics the support is not bad. It’s just non existent.
One month after requesting support, CarJet finally decided to inform me that they will look at my issue. Outcome.... unknown.
If you are a CarJet advisor and of you intend to ask me again what happened, please read the data in your CRM system.
You happily kept my money and you simply ignore my repeated mails to review the incident.

Be smart and look for another car rental company. Carjet has deleted all contact details from their website since the Covid-19 crisis started.
Our flight of 14.07.2020 with arrival early on 15.07.2020 in Reukjavik was cancelled by the airline. We immediately changed our car rental to the next day as the flight was going then.
No car on our arrival and no carjet representative so we were forced to hire another car from another company. After lots of searches we managed to find an e-mail address and wrote to them with the request for a refund of our Euro 508,85 (Booking CJT-34758913). We never did get a reply nor a refund. Very unprofessional and not to be trusted.”
“We booked our car for July 2020 in November, due to COVID 19 our flights were cancelled. I had to cancel all parts of our holiday and everyone was happy to refund, until I contacted Carjet. They were unhelpful rude and not at all understanding, they refused to give a voucher or a refund, they said claim off your airline. When I said who could foresee a worldwide pandemic and people dying I was told your booking still stands and if the car is not collected you’ll still be changed for fuel and insurance. There was no reasoning with them, when I raised my voice through total frustration they promptly put the phone down. I rang several times and was told by each staff member basically it’s tough luck. Never ever book in any country using Carjet they are total crooks feeding off a worldwide catastrophe, they should be made to pay all the money back to people who have lost through this sad pandemic. I cancelled my credit card so they could not take any extra payments out, so one up to me 😡”

“Absolute disgrace. Our flight was cancelled so we emailed at 7.26am, 6 hours before we were due to pick up. They did not bother to ring the car company to let them know we were going to be late so they didn’t hold the car. They emailed back at 4.30pm to say our original booking stood....we called the car company directly who told us car jet had not been in contact and if they had they would have saved the car.
We were then told the website does it all automatically...when we explained we had done everything they had asked on the website the lady on the phone said ‘you don’t use the website booking to modify, you have to call’. Great! So a website that is not fit for purpose and it takes them 20 mins to answer the call....if at all. We want our £80 deposit back and will never use this company again...looking at the reviews today it appears lots of people feel the same! Disgusting! I shall ensure this review is on every social media platform possible as I wouldn’t want anyone else to have to deal with this.
UPDATE Despite telling us they couldn’t confirm a modification to the time of pick up they have charged us €8 for ‘considering it’. So now it’s €88 you owe us. Also interesting to note that the deposit you pay is not actually a deposit, it doesn’t go to the car lender or secure the car, it’s actually a handling fee. This is misrepresentation and goes against the consumer rights act 2015 in the U.K. REGARDLESS of where your company is based, if you trade in the U.K. you are bound to trade under these rights. STILL WAITING FOR A RESPONSE!”

Dear Luis Araujo, President of Turismo de Portugal,
Against all recommendations, I recently flew to the Algarve. It's the nation of my ancestors and I feel is important to support the country in this difficult moment.
I rented a car using CarJet.com.
CarJet.com is basically a search engine that works as a middle man between customer and the rent a car company.
Together (in my case it was GoldCar the actual rent-a-car company) the two companies play a superb game of ping pong.
The customer is the ball.
Issues/Questions/Concerns with GoldCar will be swiftly passed to the CarJet.com court: "Your contract is with CarJet.com sir, not with us"
CarJet will answer with automated messages and if your issue doesn't fall into their category of pre-defined problems..............well, they will just not answer.....
I know these are details for a man of your stature and responsibility, but I find it concerning that while most companies working in e-commerce now focus more than ever in customer service and delivery..........the great majority delivering quality and a great platform for loyalty........in Portugal we still have companies offering poor customer service, no accountability.
The problem though has to be managed by the local governments and tourism authorities, specially in countries like Portugal, that has an economy based in Tourism.
Surely the mentioned companies will protect themselves with extensive terms and responsibilities, sales techniques and total lack of accountability, but the customer will ultimately be the one affected.
And when the first point of contact of a family arriving from the UK at 23:30 is GoldCar.com and CarJet.com, you are ultimately affecting your tourism and seriously reducing the chances of repeated business.
I work in e-business management at a significant level and what is happening at a rent-a-car level is only negative to the Turism of Portugal.

“This organisation is alsof active under the name of carjet. Carjet brought me into contact with surprice car lisboa. I paid incluseve full insurance car rental.
Visiting the rental company they tried to charge me 2500 deposit, or extra payment of 140 euro.
For me its clear that doyouspain and carjet do business with criminals like surprice car. The intentions of Doyouspain and carjet looks even to me because they dont react on My written complaint!!! Zo Stay away from Them!!!you are warned!”
“Make sure you read the small print as they have a hidden refuelling charge of £35 even if you return with a full tank. When questioned they just state "its policy" when clearly it is wrong to charge for a service that doesn't happen! £35 adds a significant chunk to your overall hire so I would avoid CarJet.”

“Avoid the hassle and stay away from this company!
This is the email I send to the company:
First of all I’m contact you because right after I made my booking I noticed that the date that I requested for was more than what I needed for and as soon the confirmation was sent I instantly change the booking with the right date.
I needed the car for the 27th just one day but I wrongly booked till the 30th, as I said not even 5 minutes after making the booking I try to change the reservation which I though I did or at least thats what your website said. To my surprise when I arrived to collect the car the booking was never modify for the one day that I actually needed the car. I aspected as I modified my booking 5 minutes after the confirmation to have a refund for the rest of days that I wasn’t gonna used it, the company told me that they can’t give me a refund for the rest of the days that I will not use the car which I found unreasonable any company will give you at least 1h to make any changes to your bookings!
Second of all, you guys send me an email saying to pick up the car at king cross train station which I did and guess what? The information given was not correct I had to go for 2 hours Up and down around London to actually find you ( let me tell you the Uber was not cheap!)
I try to contact you to both numbers that I found on the email, the uk number line was always busy and the number that start with +34 keeps me in the line for hours but again no one ever pick Up the phone (now I have extra charges from my phone company for calling abroad which it would it be fine if I had at least had the assistance required)
I tried to call the international number on Friday to change my booking and on Saturday to have guidance to where I had to actually go to pick up the car.
If it wasn’t because the other retail company at king cross gave me the right postcode I wouldn’t ever find the place.
With all respect you guys should be more specific with the location of the pick up and actually send a postcode not a vague information. Please take this as a feedback to improve your service and avoid causing inconvenience to your costumers.
My last issue was when I arrived at the car rental and they request a deposit of over £1k which is understandable where this come from but is not ok to send a multiple pages agreement and leave the deposit part detail for last.
As financially I couldn’t afford to make that payment I had to get someone else to cover that deposit but the funny thing is if I didn’t had that deposit set up I would had lost the money of the booking plus let’s don’t forget the hassle and time waste to actually get into the rental car company.
For the reason above I request a partial refund for my booking as I did try to change the date but Clearly your website doesn’t have the right tools to make the costumer experiment easier.
As a consumer/costumer I have the right to request changes to my booking with a reasonable time notice and get a refund.
With all this issues I can definitely not recommend your services and I will never use it myself.
Please inform me when the partial refund will be send back to my account

“Booked a car for my girlfriend on carjet.com and wanted to collect the car on Nice airport. We diside to pay extra for the insurance if the car get damaged so you don't pay extra after. Surprisely after I payed for the car they also asking for a deposid of €1100,-. That was strange because that insurance should cover all costs if she damaged the car? Anyway I geve her my creditcard like I normally do.
Arrived in Nice, she couldn't take the car because the credit card was not on her name registerd and paying on a different way was not possible. After they also telling her she will lose her booking cost of €155,-
And because it was Saturday we couldn't call to the headoffice or helpdesk to find a solution.
I wouldn't recommend anyone to do business with this organisation.

“Booked a car through CarJet but didn't receive a confirmation email but thankfully took a screenshot of the website reservation. Their website has a page to request a resend of the booking confirmation but requests the booking number which I don't have because it would be on the confirmation email!! Eventually managed to contact them and 3 days later they responded to say the car type wasn't available and recommend booking earlier in future - my booking was for 12 months time!!! In the meantime they have taken payment from my credit card. They provided a link with a 'so-called' special price to make an alternative reservation. The prices for the same date & destination were actually higher.”
