“The cake was well presented but we were rather disappointed with the flavour, although it was moist, I think it might have been soaked in syrup sugar and the cake itself had a strong coconut flavour it.”

“The Father’s Day gift packaging was damaged during transit which was extremely disappointing as it was a gift. This could have easily been avoided if some bubble wrap or paper had been placed around the box. The brownies themselves were delicious and I have placed another two orders since.”

“The cakes were good but had to go through 5 layers of wrapping to get to it! Completely ruined my experience”

“Although I was in on every occasion when delivery was booked it took until the third attempt for it to arrive very disappointing.”

“The cake had little taste of a cheesecake. The blueberry layer was not not sufficient to break the sweetness of the other layers. Apart from a nice look, not a great value for money.”

“This is the 3rd cake I’ve ordered from C&S and while the presentation cannot be faulted, the flavours of the cakes themselves do fall short. A bit bland across the board which was disappointing.”

The cake should be served at room temperature at which point the sponge should become light and fluffy and not be dry. We are not sure if you had stored it in the fridge, but this might explain the bland taste. Hi Husna, Thanks for your review ! I am so sorry you were disappointed with the taste of the cake that was delivered. The description you have provided doesn't coincide with my personal experience of our cakes so I have taken this to our head of production to investigate. Our cakes are handmade with 100% all natural ingredients. Our sponge is indeed soaked to give added moisture, the buttercream is our light Italian meringue. “Thanks for the idea of afternoon tea in the comfort of my own home. However I found the sugar levels high in the scones in particular. I usually have plain scones without glazing. The breakfast tea was top notch and we enjoyed a brilliant brew that afternoon.”

“It’s such a small cake for over £30. I’ve bought them as presents in the past so never seen one before. I was shocked when it arrived. Tastes delicious, but so small, expected it to be the standard cake size. I won’t be buying from Cutter and Squidge again”

“This cake arrived with the side of the cake squashed. Unfortunately it was the side that the eyes were on so I ended up with a cyclops unicorn. The cake tasted nice but for the price I wanted something more presentable.”

“I recently bought biskies and complained via Instagram as I felt the Biskie toppings were not as good as they look on the website. I felt that they looked unfinished with the amount they put on top and I actually went out and bought extra toppings. They did taste lovely however.”

“Varied choice and good vegan options, however the cake is very small compare to the price. I didn't see the size before I received it and I was quite chocked by how small it was. I spend 30 for 4/6 slices of cakes and I don't think it was really with it. Don't take me wrong, the cake taste good, but not worth the prize. (I'm French, that would explain why for me when you spend so much on a cake you expect it to be worth it). The box and delivery was good.”
