“I was a bit worried at first when the deliveryman was swinging the box on its side but it arrived perfectly due to the excellent packaging. The cake tasted good very moist and chocolatey. I was very disappointed in the size as it was for a birthday. I didn't read the dimensions because I buy a cake every year for my daughter and pay about the same price and the others have been much bigger, just not value for money, could have got bigger from Waitrose or M&S with more decoration and more than double the size! So won't be buying again I'm sorry.”

Hi, Thank you for your review. We are sorry for your experience with us didn’t match your expectations this time. We bake our products fresh daily, use all natural ingredients and make product quality a priority. The cake should be served at room temperature at which point the sponge should become light and fluffy and not be dry. We are not sure if you had stored it in the fridge, but this might explain the dry cake layers. “Our cake unfortunately arrived smashed and broken in it's box. We did receive a very quick refund however, and the cake still tasted great when we ate it. It might be better for the cakes to be shipped in smaller boxes rather than the rectangular ones, though it did seem to be supported well inside. We found our cake abandoned on the doorstep on it's side by the courier, who had already left. It might be good to put a "this way up" sticker or something on the parcels to try and avoid this experience being repeated. The situation was handled really well by C&S but it was still a little disappointing. We don't really want to stop ordering, so it would be nice to see an improvement in how they're shipped- or maybe they shouldn't be. Really great cake, just sad that it arrived looking like granola.”

“This is the second time I've ordered the Wheat and dairy-free Summer Berries cake and I have to say I was disappointed. The flavour and appearance of the cake were as good as the first time but the consistency of the sponge was not good. Very dense and not as light and enjoyable as before.”

“Amazing cake as always however actually speaking to a human about this order was near impossible. My office is just around the corner from Cutter & Squidge and I wanted to collect as I have always done. Alas no not possible so I had to pay £15 for delivery which was almost 50% of the cost of the cake. No doubt the reason that will be given ‘to keep us all safe’. Well C&S this is my last order until you allow collection again.”

“The cake tasted lovely and had a nice texture however the decoration was not as per the photo advertised. There were very sparse raspberries and virtually no gold leaf on the top.”

“Celebration cakes are great, and no complaints. But I’d avoid their smaller things (e.g. cookies and brownies) as they’re like pre-packaged ones from the supermarket but triple the price.”

“Great looking website with careful packaging and courteous delivery. However, the mixed mini brownies (both vegan and non vegan) were not mini and were very big. They could have been half the size. They tasted OK but were very similar in flavour. The mixed vegan mini cupcakes were delicious, moist and the perfect size but we wished there had been more citrus and berry flavours as they all tasted chocolatey and were therefore similar again in flavour. I wasn't able to leave a review via the website directly and had to wait a while before being invited to by email from the company.”

“This is my second time ordering however this time I felt that it was very sweet and we couldn’t eat all of it. Sadly not our cup of tea anymore. However with those who like sweet cakes it would be up their alley”

“Last year a vegan chocolate fudge cake was really delicious but this year, I was very disappointed. I ordered a summer berry cake and mini cupcakes...They were way too sweet and some of them were hard as well.”
