“Cake was ordered for a birthday. Was delivered to the wrong address. When following up on delivery, Customer Service staff tried to blame it on user input error, however, it was proven that correct details were provided, so staff blamed courier service. Frankly not interested in which subcontractor is to be blamed. Surprised that the courier didn't try to contact the phone number provided, just left the cake at the doorstep. £40 disapointment, but some random person probably had a nice birthday cake”

I can also see from the courier report that a text update was sent to you just before your delivery was made. “The cake was dense. It did not taste good at all. It looked pretty and inviting but it was not. I ordered the cake for my husband's birthday. Like me, he was disappointed.”

We bake our products fresh daily, use all natural ingredients and make product quality a priority. The cake should be served at room temperature at which point the sponge should become light and fluffy and not be dry. We are not sure if you had stored it in the fridge, but this might explain the dry cake layers. “It’s a disappointment! It looked pretty but It’s very sweet and tasted like a frozen cake! It didn’t taste it like a fresh made cake at all. It’s overpriced and overrated.”

“The cake ordered was delivered at 7am when everyone was still asleep, delivery company left with it and would not do a later delivery for the birthday celebration that day. Have not tasted the cake as delivered the next day and back at work. Very disappointing.”

Hi Nicola, Thanks for your review. The cake was delivered within the timeframe selected by you for your order. The courier company also called and text when they received no response. “I didn’t enjoy the cake. These cakes are not fresh but frozen/refrigerated therefore the taste is not the same as with a freshly baked cake. Wouldn’t buy again.”

“We didn’t enjoy the cakes at all unfortunately. The vanilla sponge cakes were all discoloured and sadly the colour made them look mouldy.”

Hi Ellie, Thanks for your review. As we use all natural ingredients to colour, you may find colours change. Colour from fruits such as raspberries and blueberries have a chemical reaction to the baking soda in the sponge, turning little parts of it a slight blue/green colour. Kind regards, C&S

“I already submitted my review. I found the delivery company incredibly rude, and although the c&s team was nicer on the phone, they were unable to figure out a way to fix the issue and get the cake in time. We had the cake the day after the birthday party, when everyone had left and had no use for it. Customer service should mean trying to find solutions when things go unexpectedly wrong (like this delivery person’s ringer issue etc) not about sending photos of a front door or insisting there’s nothing they can do (even when we offered to go drive and pick it up!!!)”

Hi Eyvana, Thanks for your review. As mentioned on our website if our courier service do not get a response when attempting to deliver your order on the day requested they will attempt to deliver the next day free of charge. I can see they have tried to deliver this order on the day and within the time slot requested by yourself but nobody answered the door. They did also phone and text the number provided to ensure everything possible was done to successfully deliver your order but again had no response from yourself. Unfortunately due to this the order had to be marked as a failed delivery and was successfully delivered the following day, Kind regards, Team C&S
