“I wanted to sell a dress. I accepted an offer. The buyer asked to send more pictures to her email address which I did. She requested me to buy 2 gift cards of £500 as apparently was for a birthday. I bought one of £270 and receive an email from payments team that I have to buy the other one in order to release the full amount. I looked on ebay and it appreared item purchased by .....(buyer name). I was confident that everything was ok as I clearly saw the word purchased (which means bought) on ebay. Plus the email confirmations from payments team to actually find out that everything was a scam. Not only that I lost the other buyers but I lost money as well. I really recomend everyone to stay away from ebay as in my case was a genuine mistake that I was new and I didn’t know that I shouldn’t communicate outside ebay website. They do not check the buyer identity. The do not cover your loss in case of fraud through their website. They also state online item purchased and the item is not even paid. They do not facilitate to buyer -seller experience through chat in order to avoid using personal email or messages. In my experience if I had the option to send the pictures through chat I would not have ended up losing money. Overall I am very dissapointed by this experience speacially now that I read all the other reviews.”

“They let scamers to sell on their website no parcel no money no nothing after 3 weeks where seller was 100% reviews customer service is a joke money back impossible save yourself time and money. Avoid in all costs. They gone downhill what a joke”

“Ebay is a RIP OFF to all sellers. You let people destroy products and send them back or send the wrong product yet ebay makes you give the buyer money no matterm what. Use facebook or craigslist or offer up. DO NOT USE EBAY RIP OFF site”

“Been shopping on Ebay for years and now I will shop else where. Ebay just shut off my ability to use the "make an offer" button or contact the sellers. By doing this they have diminished my ability to get great deals. Its just pure greed. It's the same old story worldwide, you feed them so they can grow big and strong so one day they can stomp on you. Now I have to search elsewhere to find my deals. Its just shopping and they weaponized it. So sad. Don't feel bad for me I'm very resourceful, but stop feeding the beast that's eating you. Happy shopping.”

“I found out I was banned from ebay in 2019. I opened my account in 2001 and used it sometimes. In 2011 I moved overseas and worked for the U.S. Government at their overseas Embassies for 8 years. I retired in 2019 and moved to my home in the U.S. got on my account in 2022 only to find out ebay ban me from using their site. So ebay banned me from the site the year I returned back to the United States. I call and they did not give me a reason just that I was banned, they said I was a security risk. So after a number of years with an account, not using it for 8 years while living overseas, I come home to a banned account with no explanation. The only thing good about ebay is finding older items that people still have. I would give them a zero but cant.”

“piad extra for special delivery seller admiited they made mistake in the warehouse and all i wanted was my postage service i paid for which i didnt get by seller,eBay said they cant make them pay you back even though they made a mistake disgusting from eBay when all the proof is there and seller admiited it as well ...why would i not get the reund for postage i paid for and never got ...very sad for as been with them for nearly 15 years and this ubsolute disgusting from ebay”

“Suspended my account for "violating policy," but I barely use the site and only buy things occasionally for my kids. After 2 days of calling, emailing, sitting on hold and dealing with terrible customer service, someone finally told me they suspended it because I don't use it enough and the suspension is indefinite. So unless I sign up for a new email account I can never use this marketplace because I don't shop enough. “eBay do not support Hidden disabilities for a big company like that you would think they would be in the top one I’ve had my account suspended and all I wanna do is speak to somebody but they keep sending me long worded emails I’ve asked for it in audio and all I wanna do is delete my account”

“Don't buy or sell on Ebay. Customer service is outsourced and TERRIBLE! I sold an item for $5,000, they charged me $700 commission and refuse to transfer MY money. When I ask what they need from me, they can't answer because their outsourced customer service is so UNDER TRAINED and useless. When I try to escalate to higher level they refuse because fear of being fired. DON'T BUY OR SELL ON EBAY!!!”

“I bought a gift card from Walgreens. When I went to use it, it said it was linked to another account. When I contacted customer service. They said it was already used. I will never buy a ebay gift card. It is not secured and they won't back them up. Very poor customer service”

“If there was a zero for this company I would give it a minus zero! They took my money and then suspended my account! What a scam! Do not pay Ebay any money. “Ebay system glitch gave me a double purchase of same items within seconds of each other. Ebay refused to remove second purchase. Ebay told me it was up to the seller. Fortunately the seller agreed to cancel both items. I found the same seller on amazon. I am done with ebay.”

“I've used eBay since 1994. It was first awesome, went to good and now is a money grabbing, low quality service entity. I sold a chair at the weekend - £1. No postage as pick up. £1.60 went to eBay for final sales fee and fixed sales price. I've been charged 10% of postage before too. I'll no longer use it for Selling unless the fees come back down again. Just turned into a money grabbing entity. Sad - as it was epic in its day - however it's ownership has changed, so that probably explains a lot.”

“Purchased Compact Single Display Automatic Watch Winder model: Atom-1BPL/WPLPurchased Automatic Watch winder from Seller There is no specification on the Sellers site that this watch winder is not suitable for Kinetic movement watches Although the winder does rotate normally for an automatic watch, it is insufficient speed to move the Kinetic rotor to charge the battery If I had known this, I would have not purchased this item The Sellers should note this on their website that this watch winder is not for Kinetic watches I try to resolve this with the Seller and wanted to return this product Unfortunately, the 30-day return policy had expired, and the Seller was confrontational and threatened to have my E-bay close my account of I gave bad review Wow ! the last time I looked it is still Australia , the land of free speech ! Nevertheless, I submitted my case direct to EBay customer help. I accessed my account today and the case is listed as closed So, there you have it .......”

“Bought a ring from a seller and it is too big to enjoy or wear. The ring cost me $460.00 and the seller refuses to refund. Ebay sides with the seller and hides my right to leave feedback. Ebay chooses to HIDE the dissatisfied feedback so seller can continue selling under the pretense that all his customers are satisfied which is a big LIE. Ebay is acting biased and showing difference while discriminating as to who can leave feedback and who can't. Ebay customer service told me my feedback was hidden by Ebay. Ebay needs to delete the feedback option if it is only for specific people and not all.”
