Evans Halshaw Wolverhampton Aug 2021 I reserved a Van and paid a deposit on a Thursday following a video sent to me . I then had a call with the salesman to complete and sign the order forms. On the Friday I paid the full balance for the van and was told he would call me to sort delivery. I had a duck and dive session Friday afternoon through to Tuesday morning where no one was ever available to speak to me and no one ever called me back Tuesday after I received a call from the salesman saying a small issue, they were going to refund me as they were not selling the van to me as the price was wrong and they wanted more money for it. I asked to speak to a manager who after me chasing 3 times eventually rang me at 6.45pm on Tuesday evening . He advised me that he was not selling me the van as it was advertised on both their website and auto trader at the wrong price.. He was really rude and would not look at a discussion, told me I can do what I like he was advertising the van that evening even though he still had my money. We are now at Wednesday and the van is advertised and Evans Halshaw have not refunded the money or returned a call following a complaint I raised. All in all I would not ever by another vehicle from such a company who have no respect for their brand or customer service.

AWFUL The issue that I have experienced was: I placed an order for a used Vauxhall Astra on Thursday 17th June through the Evans Halshaw main website - this part was great and very easy to use. I selected delivery on Sunday 20th June - the dates were pre-determined on the website and it appeared I had free choice. First thing on Friday (18/6) morning, I received a telephone call from a salesman at Ford Rotherham. The telephone call started with saying the car could not be delivered on Sunday, the only reason given was that the car was due to go into an MOT. There was no expected delivery date given - despite me asking. The telephone call was blunt and rude. Since getting the car, I have looked at when the MOT is due and it says 7/6/22, therefore I know the MOT did not take place after car sale, despite being told otherwise. I then received a WhatsApp message from the salesman saying the car had 3 notable scratches - now the reason given as to why the car isn't being delivered was being changed to "needs to go into paintshop." The profile picture on this mans WhatsApp (of which he is using for professional business) is quite frankly intimidating and unprofessional. The salesman is sat with a red vest, and beer glasses - not a professional picture at all despite paying a premium for a car through a dealership. I then received nothing over the weekend. At the start of the following week (21/6), I received telephone calls of the same rude nature from salesman saying they were trying to arrange a driver to deliver the car - fair enough but again no delivery date told. I later received an email with a receipt of my near 5k purchase, which at the top stated an estimated delivery of date of 25/6. Perfect, I thought. However, this is "estimated" and still nothing confirmed. Wednesday, Thursday pass with no contact. Friday morning - the estimated delivery date - no contact from salesman. At this point getting ridiculous. I then text him to which I got reply saying it would be delivered today - no idea what time though. All the way through the process, I mentioned I work in a school and can't be on hand to answer phone calls whenever. At 11am, I receive a phone call saying "I need to pay for the tax so the car can go on the road". The salesman asked for my card details, without telling me how much I was paying for, I refused to give him my long card number as no idea this was genuine. I asked to pay the tax in direct debits - once again I wasn't told how much for. I was at this point told the drivers were coming to collect the car. Now for what is quite frankly a disgusting comment that made me feel really uncomfortable. At 12:30pm, I received another phone call from salesman. I answered, I was told "the 2 drivers who are picking you car up are thick as pig ****." If I said this comment to anybody in my line of work, I would expect to be put on an official warning or get sacked. The 2 drivers - who lived in Bristol - I do not know the name sadly were amazing. Being told the drivers - who were deliverying my £5k purchase - were "thick as pig ****" naturally puts you on edge and I felt scared the purchase may never turn up. People making comments like this should not be anywhere near customer service.

Sell cars they dont or cant repair, why, because they dont have the equipment or tools to do any repairs .they only service cars thats the limit of their skills and abilities.was forced to take my car to an independant garage .they should not be allowed to trade in second hand vehicles if they cant do the above .so begs the question why are the regulators allowing this to happen .

I needed an mot today but the guy wouldn't take it saying the tyre was bald but when I took it to Kwik fit they said it was on the limit meaning it could of been taken. Then I phoned up for another appointment pressed 3 for service and they guy twice put the phone down on me. I used to deal with Treforest Evan Halshaw they was fantastic polight always pleased to serve. Ford closed them down now I have to deal with Cardiff Evan Halshaw. Once I had mot there the front window screen looked like it was wiped with an oily rag I had to crawl back down the street and clean it. They are the worse people so rude. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

Found a car online (long distance purchase). Byron was great, we agreed a sale and I secured the car with a deposit. Following day I had a distanced sale agreement meeting over zoom where sale was agreed and purchase order was signed (this is legally binding contract). I received a call 2hours later refusing to sell me the car because they had not priced it correctly, this is when Omar got involved. This man should not work in a customer service environment, he is rude and has lots of attitude which reduced me to tears!!! Do not deal with this man, I have gone above to complain about how I have been treated and how they have breached their contract and sale should be honoured, the case has not been resolved and yet they have put the car back up for sale. I am shocked how a company can act so unprofessionally.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are conmen. I purchased a car from Evans Halshaw Ford Cardiff, they mis sold this car to me because it had previously been in an accident and had multiple repairs done, also an alloy refurb, all of this was hidden from me. Also the car was delivered by a driver with no covid safe procedures at all. It was also dirty under seats and in footwells. They claim that customer service is their top priority, it most definitely is not, they just want the money. I tried to resolve the issue but just get passed around. Absolute disgrace of a company, AVOID!!!!!

Visited Kilmarnock branch recently. Never again. Salesman less than half my age was patronising and spoke to me like I’d never bought a car before. I didn’t accept his “ absolutely best offer” on my car as part exchange and left. Said I had another car to check and would phone him next day if still interested in the one at Kilmarnock. Was told he’d phone me next day. Never heard from him. I was really interested in the car I viewed but his attitude just got my back up. Bought a similar car with less mileage and a better trade in deal elsewhere from a more professional salesman. And the car I viewed at Evan Halshaw is still on their forecourt weeks later. Had same experience at same garage a few years ago.

After Discussing a purchase of a mini on the Monday, the sales person "Zoe" said she was off on the Tuesday and would phone me on the Wednesday to arrange the sale and delivery. I had to contact the sales rep and was then informed that the car was sold on the Tuesday!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!! Thanks for nothing, I even told her that I work for the NHS and really needed the car....

What an appalling business, no wonder the Hemel Hempstead branch has closed. Made an enquiry on the chat yesterday about a car I was really interested in. Was promised a phone call back within an hour, no phone call so tried to phone. No response. I phoned this morning as they still hadn’t phoned. Was told they’d been taken over and they weren’t allowed to sell me a car, told to phone Bedford. Phoned Bedford who told me the car wasn’t on their stock list. 2 minutes later they phoned back to tell me it was. We tried to find a date next week for me to go over. I wanted Tuesday but the salesman said it was his day off so I agreed Wednesday. I asked what time? He said oh just phone in the morning! He then told me I had to pay a holding deposit and he would send me a link. I didn’t get the link so phoned back and he’d taken my email address down wrongly and he then sent me a link. I paid the deposit of £100. Ten minutes later he phoned to tell me that someone else had paid the deposit in the interim. 7 hours later and I still haven’t had the deposit back and I don’t have a chance of the car. If any one of the people had done their job properly I would have had opportunity to buy the car. As they didn’t and didn’t care either I won’t have a chance. If you get a choice don’t use this company under any circumstances.

Turned up at the set time, all I got was ring the number on the entrance door. Phone the number might as well not bothered. Then asked the staff for help, wow waste of space, avoid this lot at your peril lots of other good dealers out there. Could not put zero

Ordered 67 plate transit custom sunday gone, delivery for tuesday 2 days later. They rang monday to say they should have it ready if i wish to collect by wednesday as it requires mot, full valet and full machine polish. Annoying to wait extra day given advert said vehicle was ready to be driven away today (sunday) but hey ho, i made it clear i have litterally just recovered from covid as in last week and that cleanliness was of the highest importance and i was reassured it would be spotless. I also asked if the vehicle had any noticeable damage or scratches/rust etc- i was again assured it had a few minor scratches which would machine polish out and if any damage could not polish out, they had a bodyshop whom would sort damage out. Their advert/ sales pitch states it has had a full electrical/mechanical/ cosmetic check and it would be in tip top shape. So to my surprise.... i ring wednesday as ive heard nothing to be told there was a mix up and van had still not gone for its mot yet?? as it was at the bodyshop being fully machine polished. so i had no option but to wait. thursday comes and at near close of business i am rang to be told the van had failed its mot?? surprising given its supposedly had this top set of checks carried out as its just 3.7 years old? what was alarming was the failures: tyre cut exposing chords/ply rear brakes dangerously corroded/weakened battery insecure which could cause short circuit excessive handbrake movement minors: all brake pipes corroded on a less than 4 year old van with 70k miles? other rear tyre has a nail in front pads and discs corroded/scored/pitted but not weakened so now im annoyed to say the least and i am starting to distrust this dealerships so called work methods, so now i complain via email as im told it may be ready for friday if they can get parts ordered/ fitted in time, if not next week..... so then i get a call friday dinner to say its passed mot (mot still states theres a nail in the tyre at this point and all minors still exist) but the van will be ready for collection at 4pm as vehicle is at the valeters. ok all looking better so i agree to collection at 4pm. and then it all went wrong i turn up and as i arrive i can see from a mile away the rear quarter has been repainted poorly so im already in a mood so i start to look round to see a horrific list of poor repairs, dents, scratches, differnet colour door with filler marks, pitted paint, rust under door handles, rusty rear hinges, chipped windscreen, paint on the front seats/rear seats, cement stains on rear seats, under the passenger seat has been used as a rubbish bin, what looks like black mould on the sun visor, what looks like snot on the roof (my youngest sons words) a used biro pen in the rear door along with what looks like mud, they have simply tightened up the handbrake im assuming as the handbrake cover is flopping around and will not clip back into place- this is compounded by the dirt and rust thats visible as a result of cover not being in place. Seatbelt has been removed on drivers seat as its now been fitted back incorrectly, windscreen wipers do very little to clear windscreen yet it passed mot this way, inside of all windows are disgusting thick with grease and dirt ( i wiped just one part with a piece of white cloth and it came off black ). Rear of the van is a whole story to itself - litterally looks like someone drove through a muddy ford with rear doors open and flooded it. I mean seriously the list goes on and on.... whole van has been cleaned by freddy crueger or wolverine given the gouges to side windows, trims, panels. Only panels that have not been painted /dented or scratched is the bonnet. bumpers are completely dry/flaking in places. so i make my dissatisfaction abundently clear to be told by salesman van has been cleaned and machine polished, so i took my finger and wiped what he claimed to be in the paint - muck off the top of the damaged /scraped top of one of the sliding doors. At this point he says that it didnt have a full machine polish as he first claimed and said the onsite team have simply polished worst scratches that they could (but yet they left ones that could have came out) he then went on to say his manager tells him what they can spend on getting the vehicles ready ( imguessing it was the cost of a coffe or similar given the disgusting state) and that the online checks are based on age / mileage? so what evans halshaw hull are effectively saying is this.... if you buy a van thats 3.7 years old with 70k miles on it, it will be damaged all over, will have had plenty of poor repairs, it wont have been looked after, they wont repair it fully or properly, will have broken or ill fitted parts, paint on seats (as we all know this happens with age/miles) but what they will do is happily take your money, tell you everything will be checked and cleaned properly but then go on and do the exact opposite.. handover is meant to be done shortly and in a covid secure way, no gloves, no hand sanitiser, keys had ingrained dirt and i was passed a pen to sign actual paperwork which had not been cleaned etc everything should be online to minimise contact especially given id made it clear i had just recovered from covid 19 and still in fact have some now ongoing issues, so i had to get anti bac wipes to wipe vehicle down before i could drive it home, wear a mask all the way home and gloves as this thing is a breeding ground for germs. now van seems a little underpowered at the minute which im hoping is nothing as that would be the icing on a terrible cake, no apologies no discounts for such a poor vehicle nothing, but what i did get was a handover sheet which stated i was happy with every part of the vehicle and guarantees etc had been explained, so i quickly ensured i corrected all of this and took photos to prove so. now why did i take the van? because its on finance so its a hell of a lot of hassle to correct this, i have my own proper bodyshop/valeting facilities so i can rectify all issues and to be fair i wouldnt trust this dealership to put fuel in the van never mind correct all thats wrong. Ive already had my health put at risk by visiting these once, so sure as anything would rather stay clear. if i could post photos i would as i would seriously think twice before going here. I will be documenting all of this in one of my upcoming youtube series if anyone simply cannot believe a vehicle could be sold at this worrying time in such a terrible state. long story short, if you say youre going to do something then you should do it, what effectively happened was, they took the money (full retail value) then took a week to mot the van, change rear discs and pads and one tyre. Never ever again

Phoned Hull Branch up this morning to purchase a 2020 plate car for £20,292 with 48 miles on clock( Advertised on web site) only to be told it now had over 5,000 miles on but the would kindly drop price to £20,000 no thanks just bought another one over phone from a different dealer with lower mileage for slightly less money, do not trust them.

Got sold an illegal car, no head light, unfortunately for me I was new to buying cars, these crooks saw me coming. When I took it back to complain I demanded a full service carried out on the car, they fitted a new bulb, they even changed the break pads as a good will gesture. Haha such a joke, like they are going to throw money at a car that they don’t need to. Also they sold me a car that was advertised as having alloy wheels, guess what they were not they were steel. Then they informed me the driveshaft had gone this was all in 24 hours of the car being purchased, I said I wanted a different car, they begged me to let them try and put it right, I allowed them to, they fixed the car I drove it 600 miles on holiday. Drove with my son in the car, the driveshaft had gone again, I took it back, they said it went again because they didn’t changed the W bushes, honestly one thing after another with these, three months after purchase I started getting an Intermittent, problem where I would loose power, and the clutch started to fail. Trying to prove these faults were with the car the day I bought it you can imagine is impossible. After so many similar stories and no one gets satisfaction, I am planning protests outside their shops. This is a warning to all stay away from this company.
