I was looking on Autotrader at BMW 1 series and found one i liked but it was borderline high in price and just happened to be advertised by Evans Halshaw. Asked if there was any way they could bring the car down to my local dealer as i just sold my car so can't travel 300 miles to look at a car i might not even buy in the first place, told me sure and come on this date and time which i did, car wasn't even there! was told to come back in two days so i did, went out to look at the car and was basically left to it, first thing i noticed was the interior being very mucky with rubbish in and they said they'd clean it "if" i bought the car but it still isn't how a car should be shown for sale considering its a BMW and almost £15,000...or so i thought! engine bay was mucky and clearly hadn't been serviced in ages and the idrive system shown the last service being over 12k miles ago. The final straw for me was when they told me the car had gone up by over £900 since i first phoned up about the car...and that the warranty had gone up as well so the car would of cost me over £1500 more all together, told them the car was already at the high end of the scale in price as most car value websites had the car over £2,000 cheaper than they listed it as! so i told them no your just being greedy and walked away, ended up finding a 1 series a week later with 10k less miles and a year newer for £13,995, its pretty clear to me now EH buy cars from private sellers on websites like Autotrader then throw a grand or more on top for profit and claim they offer cheapest price possible, when you can go on AT or Ebay and search the exact year and millage of the cars they're selling and you'll find ones way cheaper and no where near their price. So my warning is look elsewhere or else your paying more money just for their name on it and all these "checks" and "services" they do when they don't, especially when they told me the car had just been serviced yet the engine was covered in much and dust with no finger prints or update on idrive or paperwork...so a garage serviced it and didn't give any record of it even being done? right...

Avoid at all costs! Bought a Fiesta for my sons 18th 7 months ago that has cost us in excess of £2,000 to bring up to a working and safe condition. Having only done 400 miles since purchasing this is clearly down to a car sold, not fit for purpose and a vehicle that should not have passed an MOT! Complaints raised at Altrincham Evans Halshaw have been met with complete rejection of any willingness to help in resolving the issues or make any contribution as apparently this is deemed as acceptable maintenance costs on a car that has done 67k miles. Now off to go legal, so anyone looking for a car don't go here!

Purchased a used car 65 plate from East Kilbride Branch back in September/2022 and had a broken spring within first couple of days! Now, you say thats just bad luck but the hastle i had trying to get re-imbursement at a cost of £502 cos the drop links were shot as well, was absolutely ridiculous to say the least! Told even though comes with 3 month FULL Warranty that because i purchased the so called Premium Guarantee this supersedes the garages own warranty! I paid £400 for this 2 year so called Premium Guarantee and NOT worth the paper its written on! Had to threaten to go to small claims court for re-imbursement b4 they paid up! 2 months later! Then 3 months later (first cold spell of weather) could not get started at all! Plenty of life in the battery but didnt want to know! I had a mobile mechanic come round and do a diagnostic and turns out it was a pre-heater module for the glow plugs had gone! No car for another 3 weeks as had to send down to south england to get one! Renault are on backlog for at least 2 months due to Brexit! After change of this part needed New glowplugs so tells me that Evans Halshaw certainly did NO service or checks other than possibly an oil change and filter! That in total apart from no car for 3 weeks cost me yet another £375 , as Surprise, Surprise that component is also not covered even in the Premium Guarantee! All in All get the car Sold, tack on a few Extras and then Wham, Bang , Thank you mam! Worst after Customer Care EVERRRRRRRR! Stay well away!

Was looking for minus 10 stars but no available, what a shame, it would have shown my true feelings. Ordered a car on Motability, early July from Evans Halshaw, Vauxhall, York, was told I may have a wait. After over 6 months of no contact, not even a courtesy call or email, I contacted them via email asking for an update, this email was ignored. I phoned to ask to speak to someone about my order, the person dealing with it was with a customer, but he would return my call as soon as he was free, no return call. I waited 24 hours and phoned them back, explained I was chasing an update, was again told the person dealing with it was with a customer, and he would return my call as soon as he was free, I said that I was still waiting for yesterdays return call and was told that the person dealing with me was on his day of yesterday, even though yesterday he was with a customer. Again no return call. Phoned back, guess what, he was with a customer and would return my call. I made it clear that if I did not receive a call within 2 hours I would be cancelling my order. No return call, but gave them 4 hours, in order to be more than fair. I phoned back and asked to speak to someone who could deal with cancelling my order, you got it right, everyone was busy. But I was told by the person on the phone that they would deal with it straight away and cancel the order. Went to a dealer I had used before to order another car, found out my order had not been cancelled. The dealer attempted to contact Evans Halshaw York, he could not even get an answer. The dealer then contacted Motability, who tried to contact Evans Halshaw York, they could not get an answer to their call, so they cancelled the order. I selected a new car, told it would be ready in around 4 week, which is a bit different to over 6 months without a confirmed delivery date. Evans Halshaw have shown no customer service at all, shown that they do not really care about the customer, and it looks like they do not even care about sales. I was ignored and lied too, even prevented short term from ordering another car. I would advise anyone thinking of buying a new care, if you want stress free avoid Evans Halshaw.

If you could score a zero then that would be a more accurate review score! Absolutely appalling customer service and management that blatantly lie. To ask a customer to leave you a five star review after giving terrible customer service is a real joke. Surely it’s up to the customer to decide how many stars you should give in a review? Avoid the stress and buy your vehicle elsewhere! For a main Vauxhall dealership it’s appalling. * UPDATE* As usual just a standard response to any complaint. Pendragon customer services response (automated response) If you want to take your complaint forward then you would need to do so independently outside of the company. The details for the ADR scheme below: National Conciliation Service PO Box 6562 Rugby CV21 9QP Email: contact@nationalconciliationservice.co.uk Save yourself any stress and by your car at another dealership.Nice to see they are putting fake reviews up to hide real customers experience.

Where do I even start with this place? It hard to believe I am about to talk about a FORD MAIN DEALER ! First of all I had to wait over a month for a courtesy car. On arrival I was told with attitude that there would be a charge for the courtesy car even though I was not informed of this beforehand. When I got in the courtesy car it was an embarrassment. The inside of it was filthy with some very questionable stains on the seats, There was no water in the screen wash (which I’m pretty sure is illegal) and there was literally just enough fuel to get home. I was told that my car needed several softwares updates and they would need my car for two days. When I came back two days later to pick my car up I was informed by service that the car was fixed. Whilst driving the car home I noticed more faults with the car (too many to list) but lets just say there was more wrong with the car than before it went in to ‘get fixed’ even though the bill was over £500 !! To add more insult to this, they had replaced a part on my car and left the old dirty part on my passenger seat and the inside of my car was filthy and full of dirt and oily hand prints everywhere. When I called them to report my car was still faulty, I was told that because I’m reporting a ‘new fault’ there will be a charge even though they had created the fault and the car was in worse condition than before it went in ! The senior service advisor I spoke to was not interested and could not care less. When I requested for service manger to call me back he responded ‘no point because he’ll only say the same as me’ ! I was eventually told TWO WEEKS later that my car needs to be rebooked in when they have the parts. Another two weeks went by and not a word from Evans Halshaw so I had to call them ! I was basically told that they had done everything they can with my car and take it somewhere else who can fix it ! Correct me if I’m mistaken but this is a Ford dealership and you’re saying you can’t fix my ford car !? So to sum up, after a bill of over £500 and weeks of lies and dealing with a bunch of amateurs, my car is worse now than before I took it to Evans Halshaw. I‘m now off to Blackpool zoo to get an orang-utan to work on my car because they’ll do a better job than these jokers. I will be telling everybody I know to never ever use Evans Halshaw !

I applied for a Ford EcoSport advertised on the website for a Nil deposit. Telephone call from Salesperson advised me that Ford had ceased making this car, but that they had a few in the Showroom. Arranged appointment. When I attended at Showroom in East Kilbride I was told that they only had 1 in stock but this had a package on the car worth 650 plus deposit on 45, making a total of 695. I enquired whether they had any other cars in stock under the Motability Scheme and was advised they did not. I was told I would receive 600 from Motability if my car was in good condition, but I would have to wait until I handed the car back by which time the Ford would possibly be sold. Had I known this, I would not have travelled to the Showroom. This is the worst customer service ever. Blatant economy with the truth. I am disgusted by the whole matter and would not advise anyone to go to this Dealership.

Enquired about a car we saw advertised on there website. They agreed to move the vehicle from one of there other dealers for £99 refundable deposit. I asked if any discount would be given for no part exchange. I got the straight answer of no. The price you see is the price you pay. I agreed to this then the next thing they were talking about were add ons, Basically so the salesman could then get more commission. I said I would think about it. The next day I hot a call from the salesman asking if I had made my mind up, I old the salesman I was looking at an identical model at another dealer as it was cheaper than the one they had. He went onto say they could price match as long as it was the same spec and was within a 40 mile radius. I replied I didn't want a price match I wanted a better price. I was told all there prices were set by head office, he couldn't do anything about this , my reply was his manager maybe could help. I spoke with the manager he told me the same thing only head office could alter the price. I asked the manager to contact head office , he said he would do this. 3 weeks later I am still waiting for an answer. I purchased a vehicle from the other dealer. So in my experience stay well clear of Evans Halshaw Grantham.

I booked my Vauxhall vehicle for an OBD scan because there was a prior diagnosis of a fault with the Glow Plug Relay. I advised them of the prior diagnosis at the time of booking. I was advised they would have to do another OBD scan but if the pre diagnosed fault was the only problem I wouldn't be charged for the scan. I was asked to leave the vehicle for the day to give them time. No problem with me as I wasn't using the vehicle at the time. At the end of the day, I got a phone call to advise me that "they have to do further checks so could I leave the vehicle till Monday". No problem again. However, over the next 4 WEEEKS with several phone calls I was told exactly the same thing. At the end of that 4 weeks, I went to collect my vehicle as I had got fed up with waiting. On collecting, the vehicle was parked well away from the workshop with a flat battery and no signs that the vehicle had even been in the workshop let alone having had any checks done. Nothing had been done. I would like to have given a zero rating but that isn't available. Really disappointing for a major dealer.

After booking an appointment to view the car at the Shiremoor branch I was met by an unhappy and uninterested salesman who was clearly not enjoying his chosen profession. We test drove the car with him sitting in the rear giving unenthusiastic one word answers to questions and comments about the car.Back in the showroom he had no interest in valuing my trade-in without me agreeing to buy the car saying it would take 40 minutes to value and would be a waste of his time if I did not want to go ahead. After my complaining about it he eventually disappeared for a good while and returned with his manager who reluctantly quoted a value on my car without even seeing it. Totally unprofessional and intimidating sales pitch that left us in total disbelief at our experience. We left and called into a Ford dealership next door Arnold Clark who were welcoming and professional, found us the same model of car, gave a very good trade in price which we accepted and bought their car.

Where do i even start? sold me a car advertised with full service history when its only had 3 services and last one being at 40k miles the car is currently on 73k miles....they'll tell you they do all these checks and service your car but my car turned up with no washer fluid whatsoever, oil below minimum, coolant below minimum, they have thousands of cars so don't think for a second the salesman has a clue about the car your ringing up about and probably hasn't even sat in it. Car delivery guy left a mars bar on my passenger seat and chocolate crumbs all over the gear selector! car turned up with 3 mile to empty with dashboard lights flashing and sounds basically saying your car is about to conk out! After driving to fill the car up it was instantly obvious there was something wrong with the gearbox, gear changes weren't smooth and it shifted rough and was clearly slipping...so obvious in fact there is no way Evans Halshaw drove the car down to me and handed the keys over without knowing the car was broke!! Fast forward 3 days and they made me book it in at a local garage just for car to be test run multiple times and sat in a car park for a week just for Evans Halshaw not to authorise the work as it was too expensive apparently, instead they sent someone back down 110 miles each way to fetch the car to take it back to Blackpool Ford to fix it, due to my insurance i had to have a blackbox installed which i made them FULLY aware of but the driver took no care whatsoever and drove my car like it was his own giving me bad scores to point of insurance threatening cancellation and when this wasn't enough when the car got to their garage one of their mechanics unplugged the box!!!! i had to spend 5 hours on the phone to insurance proving the car wasn't in my hands during these times. After ringing up EH they finally plugged it back in but what was interesting was the fact my box recorded multiple trips to shops and chippies, after asking them they claimed "test runs" yes im sure driving my car to a fish shop was just a test run even though it shows they parked outside it for a good 5 min like hm, also makes me laugh that they unplugged my dashcam how strange..so just know when your cars are in for repairs they're being took on joyrides. fast forward 2 weeks and i finally got my car back, gearbox was fixed but they also fitted steering parts without telling me and my steering was super heavy and they told me thats how its meant to be! before i could use one finger to turn the wheel now i needed both hands.....car also turned up with less than 10 miles yet it left with over half a tank which tells me they used a lot of my petrol on joyrides, gave them their courtesy car back with fuel and thats the thanks i get. Took over 3 months for the salesman to even send off the V5 so i wasn't even the registered keeper for 4 months, warranty pack i didn't get sent for 3 months either, AA cover they "gave" me didn't even work and the salesman goes from your best friend to ignoring you after they've got your money i even heard him sigh on the phone as i reported the issues...how dare i as a customer moan about a broken gearbox not even 10 min after it was delivered in such a state. So yeah beware using EH, they do zero checks and cant even be bothered to hoover the car out so what does that tell you? they dont service or check your engine and will happily delivery a car to you and hand you the keys knowing its broke not to mention the prices, they'll tell you their prices are what cars are going for now yet they'll offer you say £5,000 for your car then do nothing to it and relist it with £2,000 on top so why anyone sells them their cars is beyond me you'd make more from private selling. Would avoid and use a private seller.

Car had a health check they said the air con was OK they ticked it off on the sheet. Took the car to another garage the next day to be told the air con needed a recharge it was completely empty. It cost me £100 to put right. So if you are offered a health check beware.

So this is my second bad experience at an Evans halshaw branch this time I bought this 2014 BMW for just under £16000 and this is how the car has come to me and I'm absolutely disgusted I was told the scratches on the paintwork would be machine polished out the car would be valeted and the plastic air filter cover would be looked at to see why it was rattling none of this was done the rear tyres are an advisory on the mot so I had them checked and they're 3.6mm and 3.4mm so it will need tyres in the near future it only had one key this company is a disgrace I never received any updates after I was accepted for the finance I had to do all the chasing to get updates on what was happening again it's just one of these big companies only interested in the sales and not the customer service very disappointed please avoid I also find it really sad and desperate that they have to get their staff to put false reviews on google to try to get rid of the bad reviews showing up
