My car went in for service at E H Hemel Hempstead. no problems to report - had asked when l made booking to collect at 3 - was told that wasn’t on my form & might be 5pm Got phone call to say there was a fault with the ignition & part needed to be ordered, take 2-3 days. I asked how come as never had an issue with the ignition- no reason given. I asked for courtesy car - “No due to Covid” So l can hire a car & EH will pay for it - “No” So l bring a fully working car to your garage for servicing And l am now to be without a car for 2-3 days???? “Yes” No customer service, just don’t care attitude This is my 3rd car from EH, it will also be my last Cancelled my service plan

Had to use Evans Halshaw for 2 year warranty service, vehicle has only done 18k miles. They rang me to say the Brake shoes had a lip on them and brake pads were 95% used, both in dangerous condition and brake fluid needs replacing at a cost of nearly £300. Luckily I have a local mechanic (X Evans Halshaw) who would do the repair it, he looked at the vehicle the same day and said no lip on brake shoes and the pads were 50-55% used. Just trying to rip me off, possibly by scaring me but with 40 years driving I knew the brakes were not faulty.

Bought a car from Evans halshaw Citroen in Hull ,several minor problems that they said they would sort 6 months down the line still waiting ,also no service book and manual for the car ,constantly ringing and e- mailing to try and get them to no avail just glib 'its coming', waiting for Citroen to send ,may as well say waiting for God to print ,do not buy from them at all costs ,poor after service and sales assistants who appear to be frugal with the truth .

My Renault Zoe has now been booked in with them for the 3rd time. There was a problem with my heating so booked it in in April only to be told when I arrived they could not get any parts so to take it away. Booked it again 2 weeks ago and was told it needed re gassed. Charged me for the repair and I drove home. Absolutely no heating so rang them straight away. Left 5 messages that day and was told the person who knows about this is on another call and will call you back in 30 minutes (That was 1 week ago). I put in a complaint through their Resolver system which they ignored. Resolver sent them a reminder which again they ignored. So today I rang them and explained what happened Not a word of apology nor an explanation as to what happened, I could not get a courtesy car due to Coronavirus (Curious this does not stop them selling cars). This must be the worst company ever. Rude unhelpful staff, no apology or explanation as to why they did not even check the repair.

I took delivery of a 3 year old Suzuki Swift Sport from Evan's Halshaw, Bury. 2 weeks later I discovered I had a potentially dangerous, faulty, sensor tyre valve. Apparently, It had been damaged whilst E.H replaced 1 new tyre prior to selling the car. When i took the valve cap off to test the tyre pressure you could hear the air loudly 'hissing' It only stopped when I screwed the dust cap back on. I immediately took it to an independent garage who said it wasnt safe to drive. In the meantime I rang the supplier in Bury, (200 miles away) who said I ought to take it to the nearest E.H who would sort it. I drove to E.H in Bedford. Waste of time!. I arrived there at 11am. It took them till 3.30pm to inform me, the part would take 3 to 4 days to arrive. In the meantime I was to drive the car home, then drive it back again when they would fit the new part. They didnt seem bothered if the dust cap should come off in the meantime whilst I was driving. Although they couldnt guarantee the safety of it either. I took it upon myself to contact my local garage, who obtained and fitted the repair part by 5pm that same day! I completely understand if it was an insignificant or cosmetic part. But, this was a potentially dangerous faulty part of a wheel! I was extremely annoyed with E. Halshaw, I missed a days pay, petrol and great inconvenience to myself. They reimbursed the cost of the part which was £20.00 plus £15.00 towards my inconvenience. That just about covered the petrol I suppose! A letter of apology wouldnt have gone amiss from such a large company. I thought the service department and after sales team behaved appallingly especially considering I am a women. They obviously didnt care at all about the safety issue. I wouldnt have expected that kind of service or after sales service from a back street garage, let alone a supposedly reputable one.

No one was interested had an 11 o’clock appointment booked on line I had to ‘bear with’ twice asked my name and who I had booked appointment with twice . There was a chap outside who took absolutely no notice of me no eye contact nothing. I spoke with a Liam eventually who couldn’t have less interested. I have worked in retail for the last 30 years and I was always taught customer I’d king they pay my wages. I won’t go into the £200 asked for to bring the car from another site. I bought a car from this firm 5 years ago no such fee was applied then when I mentioned this to Liam all he could say well that was 5 years ago. I had asked for an on line valuation of my car which I thought was reasonable Liam took photos of my car inside and out took it to his supervisor who then valued it at £108 less than the online valuation by the time I got this information I had been there 45 minutes and was no further on . I really didn’t have the energy to question this to be honest I couldn’t wait to get out of the place I have never felt to be such a nuisance in all my life. There was no where to park I was told this was because services was rammed today no apology.I remember the same thing happening 5 years ago and being told the same bs. How this firm is still in business I have no idea they are the rudest people I have ever dealt with obviously I didn’t go ahead with my purchase when I left there was a cone blocking the route out there were two members of staff stood very close to the cone I had to get out of my car and move it I am a women in my sixties these cones are heavy the two members of staff didn’t even seem to notice which says it all really please don’t use this firm unless you don’t mind being treated as a moron and a nuisance

spoke to a salesman called Richard over the phone at Evans Halshaw Merthyr Tydfil. arranged a deal for Bmw 320 , px value was good . deal was good . then a sales invoice came through with a £500 warranty added . i asked him to remove but keep the finance level the same as only want to put down £2000 . spoke to them yesterday as no new sales invoice had been sent through . new one appeared on whats app to still show a 2500 deposit . i questioned , as agreed two weeks ago to a 2000 deposit . the finance was less so assuming they made a error , i asked him again to keep deposit at 2000 not 2500 . he answer was we cant and your have to pay it . after getting no where he blocked me on whats app . i emailed his boss to be told the finance company down valued the car on the 5/8/20 so i could only borrow the new amount against the vehicle . i asked why i wasn't informed about this . no answer told do i want the car or not . i got hold of the dealer principal who told me the same , again no apology for his staffs lack of care and all he wanted to know was i buying the car . NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHAT SO EVER .

Terrible customer service Terrible customer service. We phoned ahead to look at a car, when we arrived we were then told we weren’t able to test drive it that day. So we booked an appointment to test drive another day. We were 30 mins into our journey to the car dealership before being called to say that actually the car wouldn’t be available. So we drove back home and waited... Finally we went back for the test drive but on our arrival still had to wait around for ages (with our 3 children) while they got the car ready. We then had to point out that the tyres were very flat and that there was a nail in one of the tyres. All of these things would have perhaps been acceptable, if there was any apology but instead we were given The Hard Sell of extras including a mandatory fee that wasn’t in the advertised price. Really very unimpressed with Evans Halshaw!

My experience with Evan Halshaw has been awful, I had gone to view some cars on Monday 28th July 2020 and seen one I liked asked if I could test drive the vehicle which was agreed even though he went to a ford which was the wrong car when I queried about the Kia, I finalised all the paperwork for a Kia Sportage Vehicle. The following day as arranged I was sat there for 4 hours and told that I could drive away within another hour… 15 minutes later the staff member tells me the car has actually been missed for a vehicle service check by Evan Halshaw to make sure it was safe and road worthy before it was put out on display to which I already had test drove prior. A staff member informed me that it needed 3 new tyres which is on the MOT that came with the vehicle that they clearly never checked in the first place and that I would be able to collect the following day or the day after as it would of bin done in the workshop .. Which was fine was told I would be informed when this was sorted. I called on the Thursday 30th July 2020 as I didn’t hear anything to then be told that it had been booked in with ( Kia Workshop ) I have never known it to be so difficult to actually try and find out why it was booked in with them in the first place and then to find out that it is actually a steering rack that needs to be replaced due to a fault. I had sold my car at the start due to them assuring me I was getting the vehicle as soon as and then they had the decency to offer me a courtesy car yesterday after all the trouble they have coursed me which I obviously declined as this should have been offered at the start to at least give me some help with getting from and to work. I have been waiting since the 29th July 2020 for this vehicle and they still don’t know when they will get it back from Kia I have just been messed around, I have been passed to majority of the staff as certain staff can’t be bothered to deal with the situation. You will never deal with only one person, the advertising is shocking as you will not drive away within 1 hour. I am only doing this review as I wouldn’t want anyone else to be in the same situation where they purchase a vehicle that probably hasn’t been checked for safety procedures and is not fit to be placed on the pitch they will not keep you updated with any information of your vehicle I had to do all the chasing, the customer service is terrible, any questions you have will most likely get over spoken or you’ll either get the impression that they don’t want to answer. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying all the staff are this way only the main ones I dealt with there was 1 specific person would try to get out of every call with me and be (Busy) all the time or it would of bin a case of leaving a message to call me back but it never happens. I rang yesterday to speak to one of their team leaders and I was told they will try to put me through if he is not busy, at the same time I was receiving a call from them so I hung up and answered . He thought I was another customer about a Vauxhall vehicle and it sounded like they were having some problems with it also. When I told him who I was he did not sound very pleased of the error in the call considering he tried to avoid speaking to me. Makes me wonder if people’s information is accurate. I do find it quite concerning. I think the whole place needs to be taken a very careful look at to make sure that all the vehicles are actually safe to purchase and their data protection and customer information is kept confidential and safely in place.

"Sell your car" service is a total joke. The quotation you get from their web site is totally different from the real quotation you get after inspection. I got £2450 from web site, real quotation was £1850 just for a couple of minor scratches in bumper (the web site clearly stated they would be taken into account). Rest of the car in really good conditions i.e. new tyres, low mileage but non of these points were considered. Total waste of time. Do avoid it! No one would answer over the phone on the customer service line on web site.

Absolutely horrendous customer service. Totally inefficient, nobody answers your calls followed by nobody updating you with progress. Even asked me if I'd brought the car to them as they had no record of the car! Eventually located the car but the work was unable to be completed due to a part issue. Nevertheless my issue was the lack of information and communication. Would choose elsewhere but it's a company car and I have no choice.

I bought a ford c max from these people in December of last year (2019). It was advertised as an automatic, this turned out to be false!. it turned out to be a powershift which is totally different!. Car drove ok but had a few bodywork issues,it also had cracked tyres and a strange shifting problem on the gearbox. The sales team are ok, but the service team are useless!. They argued and dragged their feet with every issue I had, I ended up having to pay for one of the two tyres they agreed to replace, My front bumper ended up a different colour to the rest of the car. The gearbox issue is still there, even after they had serviced it. I would very strongly advise anyone thinking of using these ripoff merchants to go elsewhere!. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I bought a mokka from them in august last year had to take it back 2 days later with a knocking on the front the mechanic fitted two new drop links and two top bushes, the car was taken for its mot in july, the mot station failed it on a drop link that had a split dust cover, a ceased ns brake cable, a bottom swingarm ball joint soall in all it cost me an extra £ 400.00 on top of the cost of the vehicle of £ 6,400. Its the last time i will trust Evans Halshaw.

Car needs service brand new last year, received an email requesting booking of service. I called no reply, i used online service to book about 1 week now and no reply, or acknowledgement, nothing... Can not leave review on Trust pilot as all negativity left made the company remove the review facility. car now over 11100 miles shoddy company. Spending money on advertising on radio. THEY NEED TO as customer reviews are putting them off. I'm now going to contact the leasing company, as I cannot contact the CEO oh no anyone in high authority and picador or evans Halshaw.. don't bother go to another company
