The turnaround was 4 months longer than promised. Access online was complicated. iMemories is much better in both facets.

Hi Michael, Thanks for reaching out regarding the turnaround time for your project. When we received your project we were well underway from catching up from the backlog of projects we received when operations were limited due to government safety mandates this spring. It was difficult to provide exact timelines for projects then. Thanks for your understanding and your business, we really appreciate it. - EverPresent

Pricing is good but you get what you pay for. Very poor communication. No live person to talk to, emails not answered. No communication. Long wait for my project to be delivered. They have different companies for different levels of service which I found a little sketchy. They didn't follow my instructions on labeling on my second order. I have more 8mm movie to be transferred by not sure I will use them again.

They did a very poor job of taking reel to reel audio tapes , listening to them and copying them onto USB for me. One of the sound tapes was slower sound audio, so that should have been adjusted for when copying them for a customer ! No one called me while this was happening Poor QA on their work. Also, they never answer the phone and very hard to get in touch with them. I had used them before, and was pleased, but I spent a lot of money on getting these reel to reel tapes converted, and it was extremely disappointing. Hopefully, I will find another company that communicates better, and also QA their work.

Hello I had requested 4 VCR tapes be converted to digital. Two of the tapes were of the same event. Of course I knew they were the same event, but I wanted them both converted to digital because they were good quality-wise in different places, Without checking first, Everpresent only converted only one of the duplicates (so only 3 rathern than all 4 tapes). Further, the DVD version of one the three fails midway through. I emailed EverPresent several times to get a replacement of that DVD (copies of emails available) and never got a reponse. Yes, I know they're available digitally online as well but I wanted the DVD as a simple hardcopy backup. So on the technical front, Everpresent was good. On the decision-making and responsiveness to customer requests, poor. Happy to discuss further if you're interested.

Thanks for your feedback. When digitizing family videos we are always running into duplicate tapes and flag them intentionally during our internal process as not to give people back duplicate footage of the same tape. Most clients find this extra step very useful as they are happy to not have duplicate files. I can see how in this instance it may be different and I am happy to reach out and see how we can fix it. Thank you, EverPresent

I brought my old movie tapes in to be made into CDs in November, with a promise of completion by December 23. One in particular was very important to me and was to be a Christmas gift to several family members. When I wasn't contacted by December 23, I called on the morning of December 24 and received the message that the office was closed. Someone finally contacted me from another state and said that if I paid my balance, she could send me the digital files right away until the CDs could be produced. I paid the money over the phone but did not receive the digital files until a week after Christmas. When I opened the one that was meant to be a gift, it was only partially there. When I returned to EverPresent in Newton to pick up my CDs, I asked why and was told there was a "crink" in the tape and it could not be copied, which was not true because I was able to watch the whole tape in your office as we consulted. I was told to leave my tape and it would be attempted again. I lost sleep over having left it and not just taking it back, as I wasn't sure I'd ever see it again. Finally I received a call saying my CD was ready to be picked up at your Burlington location. When I went there, they had no clue what I was talking about. I then went to Newton and was told there was a "mixup" and the CD was really in Newton. FINALLY I received the five CDs of the one very important movie tape and was able to give it as a late Christmas gift. Sadly, I won't be continuing to use your services, even though I was originally so excited that I had finally found a place I could trust with the hundreds of tapes I still need to convert. Maybe this is not typical of your service, but I found the whole experience more stressful than helpful! I believe I should have been refunded my money for what I was put through!

My experience was not that great to be honest. We had a big order (over 40 tapes) which translates to a lot of money. I felt like Everpresent didn’t care that we were investing in this for our family. We were not offered any discounts or anything like other companies do. I wanted to support a local Massachusetts company as that’s where I grew up, but I am disappointed in my experience. There were so many extra fees for titling of files and DVD’s. We opted not to add these on. I have been going through and manually changing the names of the files. It’s a little ridiculous that it isn’t included to be honest. They have to title the files anyways with “Video Memories XX”. Other companies include titling in all orders. Additionally, communication was not good. They claim to have a representative for you, but every time I called or had to do something...it was a different person on the phone. We found 40 more tapes after our initial order and chose to go with a national company instead. They were priced much better and we were able to add on a DVD to that order for only $80. Whereas, Everpresent was asking for hundreds of more dollars for a DVD Set (for an order of our size...over $300). That is part of the reason we didn’t return. Yes, I still would like DVDs of those digital files from my Everpresent order, but it’s crazy to ask for hundreds of dollars when your competitor is only asking for $80 regardless of how many tapes are being transferred. You might be competitively priced for a small order, but not for an order of 40 tapes. I regret placing the order with Everpresent and wish I would have gone with the other company initially.

Hello, Thanks for your feedback and at EverPresent we are very transparent with our pricing. It seems that there must have been a different package that we could have suggested given your extra copy requirements. It sounds like we could have done a better job helping you choose the best fit for you. We do have different levels of pricing and are happy to offer clarity where there is a price comparison when other vendors may not. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do better! The people I dealt with at Everpresent were all very pleasant, but unfortunately the quality of the transfer they performed was below what I was looking for. An Email to Everpresent about this was not responded to. I took my video to a different service, which turned out to be better quality, faster, and less expensive.

The sales people know nothing about the Technical process and we're not really very helpful when there were problems tapes. And sometimes they never got back to me after I left messages. I will go to Costco first.

Staff was pleasant and professional; however, the estimate given for time and expense were far from reality. The original estimate for my project was $1,500; final cost was over $2,400. We were promised final delivery in 1 - 2 additional weeks; in reality is was another month. To be fair, Everpresent sent a note asking whether we wanted to proceed once they realized the original estimate wouldn't hold. But by then, we had already paid $700 and had lost several weeks.

They were very professional and made process of getting materials to them easy- my only concern was the audio reel to reel I brought them was put on a thumb drive and you can not hear a thing. I figured if they couldn’t get even a low quality recording they would have told me and just returned it to me and not charged me for something I can’t hear.

Hello Christina, When transferring old media, the digitizing only comes out as good as the original material. You did receive a Quality Letter with your order that mentions that the original old reel to reel recording was of very low quality. Unfortunately, there is no way for us to preview or screen content - we do have to do the work to hear the results. We are glad that your other film reels came out well! We look forward to helping you out again with any other projects. Best EverPresent

I was extremely disappointed with how long it took for Everpresent to finish my project. The pitch was that my slides would be picked up within the week, and returned the following week. Instead, it took nearly two months, and many many weeks after I had been charged for the full amount. I would not recommend the service to anyone.

For audio transfer of reel to reel tapes to digital format they were not great. They don't seem to listen as they go so if something starts at one speed and later in the tape it is at another speed they don't catch it. Had to have tapes redone and they still weren't right. I gave up. I wish they would let you sit down with the tech so you can really explain to the person doing the transfer.

The 65 year old 35 mm film I gave the company to digitize was, they explained, mold damaged. That was certainly beyond their control. But they digitized much of the film anyway, producing a drive which was 80% incomprehensible imagery. I had to scroll through junk to find the little that could be salvaged. Why didn't someone edit out the useless imagery?
