We were waiting in the airport for 5 hours before the flight, and purchased the Executive Lounge for 2 people - especially convenient because my wife was in a wheelchair, and we were about to fly in Norwegian (notorious for bad or no food). What executive lounge is did not explain was that the lounge is located after going through security, and the Norwegian crew would not be available to check our bags through security until just before the flight — so there was no way we could even use the executive lounge! We are very disappointed and cancelled the reservation.

Tables dirty, had to clear our own. We were a party of 10 but had to sit separately - last year we had a table reserved for us. Had to ask for clean glasses which took 20 mins to bring out. Poor and limited food selection which ran out and then had to wait ages for it to be replenished after having to ask. Staff borderline rude and not particularly helpful. We rebooked for this year as we had a good experience last year and wanted to start our holiday the same way. However VERY disappointed and highly unlikely to book with you again - will be looking at No1 lounge next time. Will be emailing on return home.

Other then seats being nicer then outside the lounger experience was disgusting. No complementary food for kids. Rude staff, when asking them to clear plates and glasses from a table before we sat down. Bar staff struggled to serve two customers in 5 minuets then walks off before serving customer in front before returning with food in his mouth.

Dear Kevin, Disappointing to hear you comments about the Manchester lounge, we have received really good positive feedback about our summer menu from customers so far so I will certainly pass your comments on to the lounge manager. Many Thanks The Aspire Team

Very poor visit, little food and soup cold after many years staying at this lounge, this would be my last visit. Very poor

The selection of food was poor. Never stayed in a lounge that offers practically nothing for the price. Only one toilet that has to be shared with all the other lounges and there was regularly a queue.

Poor choice of food, nothing suitable for children. No welcome or information from staff on arrival. Quiet area not explained, tables left dirty. Disappointing first visit, escape lounge was much better I’m afraid!

I wouldn’t have said it was worth the £30 each we paid to get in. The breakfast was lacking choice, hot food was just bacon and beans which wasn’t as described on the website. There was hardly any fruit left and I didn’t see it being refilled. The same went for the pastries etc. We could have got a better breakfast for our money in the main area of the airport. We would not be using it again.

Unfortunately I never managed to get to the executive lounge due to airport staff giving me totally wrong information and nearly missing my flight while I waited fir the wrong checkin desk to open! I am very annoyed and will be writing to Calgary airport to complain!

Dear Jacquie, Thank you for your feedback. I can see in your review you have rated the airport and not The Aspire Lounge. We would love to welcome you in the future. Many Thanks The Aspire Team

This is the second time we’ve used these type of facilities the first time was in escape , the quality and quantity of foods available was far superior to those offered on our visit to aspire . The room itself was equivalent, but some of your staff seemed tired and uninterested with dirty plates and cups just left on tables for long periods of time. The variety of food available was considerably lacking with almost empty dishes not replenished. The food available did not cater for all needs, no sandwiches or nibbles just salad a pasta and a vegetable curry. Based on our visit we will not return to Aspire lounge or recommend it to our friends or family.

We do not offer sandwiches however we offer breakfast in the morning before 11:30 when we switch to our lunch menu which is 2 hot dishes, a full salad bar with cheese and ham, crisps, nuts, cakes , pastries and bread rolls. Many Thanks The Aspire Team

our party of 4 used the lounge on the 13th August and quite frankly I was more than disappointed. The lounge had obviously been overbooked as there was not enough seating consequentially the general "housekeeping" was failing badly and the provision of the usual buffet was inadequate. I last used the lounge about 3 weeks ago and as the flight was departing early morning there was not a problem with seating etc., however the mens urinal was out of order on that occasion and still out of order on this visit. The lounge is supposed to be a haven of rest before your flight, however given the last experience I doubt very much if I will be using the facility again.

Dear Stephen, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear about your visit to the lounge. We can not overbook the lounge as the lounge manager and our system will not allow us to go over capacity. The toilet facilities have been fixed and are now up and running. I will pass your comments on to the lounge manager. Many Thanks The Aspire Team

The lounge was booked for our honeymoon and we are absolutely disgusted. On arrival there was nowhere to sit on a busy saturday afternoon there was hardly any drink selection at the bar and the food selection wasnt great either. Won’t be recommending the lounge to anyone else

The staff where rude and misserable. Over half of the lounge was closed for an airline but for the 3 hours we were in the lounge, nobody turned up. Food was shocking. Crisps where rationed. Atmosphere was very low and misserable. Kids where running around and screaming. Definantly wont be booking again.

I am not one to usually complain or criticise but I feel compelled to make a formal complaint on this occasion and I am requesting a full refund. I spent £134 for myself, my 2 young daughters and my mother to access the Aspire lounge in Heathrow Terminal 5, and we all felt it was a huge waste of time and money. I paid for 3 hours yet was only in the lounge for 30 minutes due to overcrowding and long queues. On arrival there was a large queue and it took us over 35 minutes to get to the front. When we eventually did get to the front, the receptionist walked off and left us waiting a further 5 minutes. When he returned he told us the lounge was full to capacity and so we would have to wait. I informed him I had pre paid and so he asked me to go and look around the lounge to see if I could find a spare table, while he and his colleague who joined him just sat there. Poor customer service. I took a look around and it was mayhem. The space inside the lounge was tiny and it was worse than being outside the lounge and in the main airport area...people and luggage everywhere, no space to move around etc. The lounge was full with a only ‘reserved’ table (underneath a stair case) not in use. I informed the guy at reception and he said we could use it. However, it wasn’t exactly what I had been hoping for. It was a tiny space for 4 people/our luggage and it didn’t have a single power socket for us to charge our electrical appliances. Not ideal when travelling with children! The food options were terrible (2 or 3 options) and the lady at the bar told me I could only order 1 drink at a time, despite me telling her I needed to order drinks for a 5 year old and a 7 year old. I had to order from her 3 separate times while my mother also ordered for herself. Terrible customer service. After a small bowl of food and 1 drink each, we couldn’t wait to get out of the lounge and so we left after 30 minutes. It felt more relaxing once we were in the main airport concourse! I usually use the BA lounge and in comparison it is far more relaxing, has loads of space and comfortable seating, all seats have plug sockets, the food and drink options are plentiful and excellent. Overall BA offers a far more comfortable and enjoyable experience. Sadly, I will not use an Aspire lounge again nor will I recommend you to friends/family. I feel it is only fair I am compensated for this terrible experience. Best regards Stuart Liness

The airport lounge in Birmingham was overcrowded on arrival there was no where to sit, it took us around 15-20minutes to find seating to accommodate the 3 people in the party and that involved asking no people if seats were taken and them shuffling around to accommodate us. When trying to get food and drinks the snack stations were empty, there was no crockery, cutlery, glasses or food available, even when these items were refreshed there was very limited stock brought out and everything was gone within 5 minutes unless you wanted an alcoholic drink and then you were ok. All in all you end up paying £25 per person for what amounts to a quiet seat once you are able to find seating enough for your party. We ended up paying extra, leaving the lounge early and visiting Whetherspoons and BurgerKing to get something to eat before the flight. All in all totally dissatisfied,no value for money and is misrepresented in the sales text, I tried to contact Aspire Lounges on Facebook and have had no response, I am going to post on Twitter next with my observations.

Very disappointing. Not particularly comfortable. Tables very close to each other. Very limited choice of food (breakfast time) and drink. No fresh fruit cereal or yoghurt. Only two toilets. No newspapers. Would not recommend it to anyone. Lounge at Gatwick so much better.
