“I have been going in the lounge at Newcastle for a while now. But I have noticed the quality is slowly going downhill. There is not as much choice of food and what little is there when lounge is full sometimes take a while too replenish stocks. Not one for moaning usually but everyone who regularly visits is saying the same.”

“The food was ok but not much variety. There wasn't much choice of alchol they don't do cider and when asked for rose wine they didn't have any even though I could see it in the fridge.”

“the start was good check in went easily and the first visit to the bar was good, finding a seat was not to bad and was allowed 2 drinks, wi fi was not good i had to use my data roaming, food was very slow to be replenished but as the time went by i was told i cloud only have 1 drink per person and couldnt get 1 for my partner so i took mine back to the seat and went to get 1 for her the person said that she would do it this time but not after so where we were sat you could see the bar and the person behind could see us if they looked the next 2 people that went to the bar came away with 2 drinks each 1 passed us to go to there seats and the other was next to the bar so my partner went to the bar to get her self a drink a bit later and asked why i had been told only 1 drink then served the next 2 people 2 drinks the person behind the bar only refered to the couple in front saying she could see them but the other person was not visable to the bar as the lady walked passed us to get to there seat but not wanting to cause a fuss my partner walked away with 1 drink as she couldnt have 2 so again if the barmaid had bothered to look over she could have seen where we were sitting and there was actualy 2 people so i went to the bar for my own drink and asked for a double vodka and coke where i was told i can only have singles not a problem it just meant i had to go more often not that we had many more as we left over half an hour before we were due to. so our experience was not the best people were looking for seats quite often as it was quite full the food was not the best and the sweet selection was terrible only 1 cake and a few biscuits and scones i had to ask for the butter to be replenished but the flora never was the soup i never tried it looked awful like dish water, the warm pasta was stuck to the spoon no curry like it said on the website just pork rice and the plates are so small you cant get much on them, it wasnt realy worth the money as for the 1 drink so called policy for safe flight which were only half pint glasses or 330ml bottles, i am 56 my partner 63 and not fully mobile due to illness(which is why i booked us in to the lounge in the first place) i think we now how much we can drink, needless to say we wont be booking again in a hurry if ever”

“The lounges are an ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle of the airport as an older couple but the facility does not reflect the increasing prices. There is a basicness about what the lounge offers for people who are not there to abuse the free drinks bar.”

“Service was fantastic and very relaxed. Staff very friendly despite an unruly group who'd had too much and were rude to staff. Food was pleasant. Only reason I would give a 3 star rather than 5 is first there were insufficient staff to do what needed be done and secondly when I tried to book originally we were told not enough space as already had a group there. We were a group of 8 men which is why I suspect this was said altho all in our 40s or 50s as I explained. Whilst not the way to do it we then booked 2 seperate groups of 4 and it was ok. The place was almost empty and as the staff found out we were pleasant, polite and well behaved. So please don't assume groups of men will be bad. The other group that were not so nice were a family group.”

“it was pretty straight forward process but the food selection wasn't very good. very limited. when we went we had to ask for the cream for the scones as it wasn't out on the side, the butter chicken was like a soup twice when I went up as everyone had took all the chicken from it. but I asked for another batch and they come out with it.”

“Comfy seats and a relaxed atmosphere. However, it was very busy when we arrived and we were seated on a table out of the way in a dark corner. Also, we arrived at 10:40 so in plenty of time for breakfast. There was no bacon or sausages when we went up to see what was available which was very disappointing.”
