“After waiting over 2 extra weeks, my fruit tree arrived. The delivery box was very damaged and when I opened the box, the tree was badly damaged. The smaller branches had broke off and the larger ones were hanging off. Two of the branches were dead (already wooded). Immediately I raised a ticket attaching numerous photographs. 22nd of august. 2 days later i got reply saying it was awaiting review by the Horticultural Manager. 9 days later NOTHING. This manager must be very busy replying to all the complaints. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't buy anything from this company. Shocking customer service. Corona Virus is not an excuse. They took my £36. Day light robbery.”

“Like many of the previous posts, I to have had poor to nonexistent service from Gardening Express (the name is a joke). I ordered Plants in March at over £50 and am still waiting delivery or my money returned. I have raised numerous tickets and despite being allegedly being referred to Management, still nothing received or refunded. Be warned, keep clear of these cowboys. What does it take for the authorities to take action? Never Ever again!!!”

“Ordered plants in April, tomorrow is September....still not arrived. They tell me they are very busy and it could be 2-4 weeks before they can deliver....it’s been 20 weeks, don’t think I’m being unreasonable so have asked for refund (more than once!) they don’t reply at all to these emails. Do not use it is a scam!!!!”

“I received a dead geranium, a hydrangea with 2 leaves and didn't get a Red Abyssinian banana plant. There is no phone number, no e-mail address and a complaints ticket system that get cleared with no resolution. I don't understand why Trading Standards allow this company to trade. Please be warned you are better off giving your money to charity.”

“I don't feel quite as negative as others about Gardening Express as the plants they have sent me have been received packaged well and in good condition, better than many at garden centres during Covid 19, and have flourished but...... They sent me a wrong plant, I wasn't prepared to go to the trouble of returning what they sent me under the present circumstances so I kept it but it was cheaper than the one I'd ordered. I then tried to check my orders in my account and couldn't access it, it wasn't accepting my password. I've tried to change my password dozens of times but never receive an email from them to allow me to do so. They send me charming responses to my queries apologising and telling me how to try and sort it out but I've given up and will cancel my contact with them. This company is missing a trick, like the curate's egg it's good in parts but not good enough for me to stay with them. What a pity.”

“Like everyone on this review site, damaged/dead plants and months of being ignored, photos sent and my ticket has now been closed. Avoid this company and save your money, they are con men of the highest order. Just be glad you are not a family member of the "family run business "”

“Deliver badly damaged and dead plants & then ignore all your emails for weeks. AVOID! Delivered badly damaged and dead plants, then do not respond to ticket raised.. and then eventually close your ticket weeks later. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. THEY WILL DELIVER DEAD PLANTS AND THEN IGNORE YOU COMPLETELY! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!”

“The order of plants was incomplete. So far they have not sent the missing plants or refunded the money nor replied to my last two e-nails. The credit card company is dealing with the refund.”

“I have reported this company to the other review site TrustPilot for filtering invited reviews and only putting five start ones on there even though lots of people have been invited to review and given bad reviews, those ones never make it here. TP is investigating the pattern of these reviews. If you look at other review sites like this one where you cannot pay to be a member and put invited reviews on and manipulate it like you can on TrustPilot, they get 99% bad bad bad reviews. I suspect the sites like this one are more like reality of experience. Chris Bonnet wrote an article on 'how to get good online reviews'. Hey Chris, how's this for an idea, give a good service and refunds when necessary, then you may get genuine good reviews without having to fake them and then have the nerve to brag out it online! I would trust this and BritainReviews more than TrustPilot, as these ones are genuine reviews that are from genuine customers.”

“A complete fraud!! If I could give you minus stars I would!! Spent or should I say WASTED so much money on plants barely alive when they arrived!! Don’t make me laugh by calling your lack of response to my complaints, customer service. Fraud is more like it - WARNING - never shop with this company, they take your money & ignore your emails - Appalling!!! 🤬🤬🤬”

“Box plants arrived quickly and look ok. One has a few yellowing leaves though and is in a badly broken pot. Soil has spilled out and this will make it difficult to both re-cycle the Box and to take the Plant into the garden for re-potting. A bit disappointed”

“Ordered an expensive plant hoping for it to be delivered "express"ly - tried to contact them over a period of 4 weeks and had no reply other than an email saying a 'ticket' had been raised. They also advertise 'chat online' but it never worked. Over 6 weeks later plant arrived half dead. I paid £20 for it when it was probably worth £2. Don't ever use this company!”

“It’s the end of August and I still don’t have my APRIL order. I just get standard replies to my emails saying they are very busy and my order may take 2-4 weeks..... it’s been 5 months!!!! When I request a refund, I just get ignored. They are CROOKS, do not buy from these people!”

“Would give it zero if possible. Please do not buy from this company!! Plants arrived all badly damaged or dead. Raised complaint and 4 weeks later still no resolution and only two blanket automated responses blaming it being busy. Even though the plants were badly damaged or dead they were also nothing like described and much small then the description said they would be. Waste of time and money!”

“We placed an order of £140.. Took months to arrive via Yodal.. First package arrived all dead except the two parms.. Second package arrived A WEEK later and expectidly dead.. Yodal driver just shrudded his shoulders.. Raised a ticket, send pictures.. Told them I wanted a refund NOTHING!!!! I'm an hour away from Chelmsford so will give them a visit and thank you for stealing my money. Where are TRADING STANDARDS when you need them..”

“I placed an order months ago some of the order arrived but the £49.95 cherry tree was in the delivery despite me sending emails I still haven't received a tree or a refund. It is appalling customer service I work very hard for my money and I can't afford to lose it to an inad equate company like this. Save beforehand money and most definitely shop else where. I wish I had read the reviews befoe shopping here.”

“Absolutely the worse company I have ever dealt with. The customer service is non existent. You cannot contact them at all and if you manage to find contact details they totally ignore you. The quality of the plants is dreadful. Please please keep your money in your pocket dont keep this company in business taking hard earned money from the public dispicable”
