I found Admiral through Go Compare, initially the price quoted was reasonable, so went ahead. After 3 months I changed my vehicle, which was a year new, same size engine etc. But Admiral told me that this would be an extra £222.00 rounding my insurance premium to over £500.00. I was shocked but went ahead. After a year and my renewal was up they gave me a price for the following year and quoted me £650. So I decided to shop around. Luckily I did and found Churchill who quoted me £268. What a difference in the price. I certainly would not recommend Admiral.

AVOID- their renewal prices are 80% higher than the original price and they also charge you £100 to remove the black box at the end of policy. Terrible customer service and poor explanation of renewal price hike.

Avoid, I put my address, and in their database was missing one part of it?, they sent the little box and fail to delivery, and now they want to charge more, it is not my fault they use royal mail, I think they are doing this on purpose , when I contacted Customer service, the only option is pay extra, but the documents say the can try to re-arrange. Suspicious company, I will cancel my policy. I cannot imagine call them for a simple break down in the motorway.

Absolutely no customer service. They charge you a premium but doesn’t give you premium services. Never tell you exactly the procedure and end up you having to pay out loads for some one else mistake. Never go with them.

Avoid! After passing my driving and paying my insurance on time with Admiral I have been very dissatisfied and frustrated with the lack of support and lack of customer service received. I was involved in an accident which wasn’t my fault ( a guys wheel came off into my bumper after HE crashed into a police car in front of him) , this happened in January and I have been going back and forward contacting Admiral to check and see where my things are, whether I’d get a courtesy car since they decided to write off my car, they had barely contacted me and I had to keep chasing them . They kept making excuses leading to me calling the third party insurer myself (DOING THEIR JOB) and in one day the 3rd party took liability and gave me a courtesy car and in a week a payment to buy a new car. The third party insurer (Covea) even told me Admiral had not told or called them about the accident and I was surprised to have to explain to them what had happened.Admiral told me they would not give me a courtesy car because my car was written off and not being repaired and ironically I was told they would treat my case as urgent as I was working in a different city at the time and had to do over 3 he journeys home on a train. To make matters worse the claim still hasn’t been closed and they claim they are waiting for the 3rd party to pay some remaining money then they will close the claim and put my no claim bonus . Meanwhile they had taken two months payment of insurance out of my account even thought I had no service with them .I am still waiting for this refund that I am not even sure i will get !! I had stopped my payments to them and I received a threatening letter which led me to call them probably the 100th time in 3 months . Also I had to call the customer service team who had no idea what was going on and I told them not to threaten me and contact the claims team to check that I did not have to pay them anything as I was told this accident wasn’t my fault and they were waiting for a payment from 3rd party to close the claim. Luckily a sales/customer service employee actually contacted the claims team and called me to apologise about the letter and that he had noted on filed I had nothing to pay. Finally now I am waiting for this claim to be closed as I have not be able to afford insurance with another insurer because it looks like the accident was my fault even though admiral told me it wasn’t . I tried to go to a different company who increased the insurance over my budget which i cancelled as couldn’t afford. This cancellation has also led to the price being increased in any quote I do online ..like a domino effect! I was paying almost £900 a year with good history and good driving and now because of Admirals lack of work and slow service I have been quoted £2000-3000 per year which is ridiculous. I am furious at this point at the lack of work or effort and blatant attempt to keep money from me by admiral and best believe I will be getting back every penny they have taken and money for my transport and inconvenience . I have put though one complaint and they sent me £80 pounds which is a joke I just want to have my name cleared and claim closed and have an insurance I can afford again so I can drive to work. AVOID ADMIRAL AT ALL COST ! They do not do anything and I promise I have literally been calling them everyone for updates and get read a script of replies but if this does not end this week I will take the matter up with financial ombudsman.

Was involved in my first ever accident the other day, insured with Admiral. 100% not my fault, I was rear ended. Phoned Admiral to see what my options were. Was told I could either claim through them and pay the £350 excess (no, normally the insurer would reclaim that for you); or was given the "special option" since it wasnt my fault of claiming through a "third party company" and not paying anything. The third party option is a ompany called Auxillis (and you can read the horrendous reviews of them separately), which is a hire credit company who makes their profit by lending you a hire car at an extortionate rate. Your name is on the contract, so if the other persons insurer tried to dispute the fault, or dispute the excessive charges, you'll be responible for thousands. Admiral neglected to mention any details about this, or even who the company was - simply that I could use a third party cliam since it wasn't my fault and then I wouldn't have to pay anything. They also neglected to mention that my best option would have been to claim off the other party's insurer, which I ended up doing after some more research. Admiral is great until you actually need to claim, where they become a bunch of filthy liars. Perhaps I'm just clueless and this is the nature of insurance, but you can be damn sure I won't touch Admiral again.

I only resent took out n admiral platinum home insurance policy which you assume would be desent. I woke up this morning to water coming into my kitchen from the bathroom which was coming through my lighting. Rang for emergency plumber who came out in a timely fashion. I would say that the plumber was lack lustre to say the least and was here about five minutes before he said he couldn’t do anything due to the bathroom pipes being behind tiles. He said that he was not allowed to touch anything and said it was a no access so I had to go back to my insurers. Sorry for going on but I’m bloody fuming. I rang back to be told that the insurance would pay for my plumber to remove the tiles however the excess was £150 and any damage caused by the water leak would be a further £350, basically what is the point in having the insurance. I will soon be cancelling my insurance but the only time you need it, not covered unless I pay for my own plumber and £500 exceeds. Joke

If i could give a zero i would. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING... spoke to someone saying my car was broken down and at the garage so they couldnt work on my littlebox as i didnt have the car. They have now increased my insurance...an excess of just over £200... i dont know where they expect me to get this money from as i bought a car from a dealer that was faulty...been at garage for 4mnths and i told them this. Now they are saying because i spoke to the engineers i should have spoken to them too. But they are YOUR engineers!!! You asked them to call me. Soo upsetting as i have spent ao much already and paid insurance for 4mnths whilst car was at garage. What you are doing and have done is so wrong on so many levels Admiral..so wrong.

Bad experience with Admiral after hit and run accident. They never paid me, not having after 1 month from incident nothing in their system. They was expected me to claim on my insurance, because they can not afford to loose money in their business. Fully not recommended, not going forward with them.

I have admiral house insurance paid my premiums in good faith for never made a claim until 14th December 2018 when I had a burst pipe that ruined my kitchen floor and decor . I took photos and contacted admiral after 6 weeks they finally sent an assessor to look at the damage that was still evident my flooring and underborading was ruined and the skirting boards damp cracked and cracked paint on the walls . They then took another 2 weeks to send me an insulting offensive letter stating that no unforeseen water escape had occurred and that it was rising damp that is not covered on my policy . I am appalled my home was built in the 1970’s and has a fitted damp proof course I have never had rising damp . I have taken further photos of evidence now it has dried out and am seeking another assessment from a competent building surveyor to evidence the dishonesty of admiral at least if you are trying to default on a contract do it with something half competent rather than a fabrication and I suggest you employ assessors who know a little about buildings . I have been caused undue stress and had to take a loan out to get my home in a state of repair . My premiums have been taken fraudently and I am seeking legal advice shame on you admiral

My car was run into by a third party; the damage was such that Admiral declared it a write-off. Despite policy wording around paying out “market value” and “this is so you can replace the car with one of similar age, condition, mileage and specification”, they failed to do this, and short-changed me by around £700. Have cancelled all remaining policies, referred my case to the Ombudsman, and will never again use Admiral.

Got quoted £1300 until I told them about a non fault claim (when Someone drove into my parked car) meaning I still had 3 years no claims and they put it up £800 saying I’m more of a risk!! Basically no claims bonuses are useless.. Absolute joke would never use them again!!
