Terrible company charged me 350 pounds more when I had to change my address!

Was involved in my first ever accident the other day, insured with Admiral. 100% not my fault, I was rear ended. Phoned Admiral to see what my options were. Was told I could either claim through them and pay the £350 excess (no, normally the insurer would reclaim that for you); or was given the "special option" since it wasnt my fault of claiming through a "third party company" and not paying anything. The third party option is a ompany called Auxillis (and you can read the horrendous reviews of them separately), which is a hire credit company who makes their profit by lending you a hire car at an extortionate rate. Your name is on the contract, so if the other persons insurer tried to dispute the fault, or dispute the excessive charges, you'll be responible for thousands. Admiral neglected to mention any details about this, or even who the company was - simply that I could use a third party cliam since it wasn't my fault and then I wouldn't have to pay anything. They also neglected to mention that my best option would have been to claim off the other party's insurer, which I ended up doing after some more research. Admiral is great until you actually need to claim, where they become a bunch of filthy liars. Perhaps I'm just clueless and this is the nature of insurance, but you can be damn sure I won't touch Admiral again.

I only resent took out n admiral platinum home insurance policy which you assume would be desent. I woke up this morning to water coming into my kitchen from the bathroom which was coming through my lighting. Rang for emergency plumber who came out in a timely fashion. I would say that the plumber was lack lustre to say the least and was here about five minutes before he said he couldn’t do anything due to the bathroom pipes being behind tiles. He said that he was not allowed to touch anything and said it was a no access so I had to go back to my insurers. Sorry for going on but I’m bloody fuming. I rang back to be told that the insurance would pay for my plumber to remove the tiles however the excess was £150 and any damage caused by the water leak would be a further £350, basically what is the point in having the insurance. I will soon be cancelling my insurance but the only time you need it, not covered unless I pay for my own plumber and £500 exceeds. Joke

If i could give a zero i would. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING... spoke to someone saying my car was broken down and at the garage so they couldnt work on my littlebox as i didnt have the car. They have now increased my insurance...an excess of just over £200... i dont know where they expect me to get this money from as i bought a car from a dealer that was faulty...been at garage for 4mnths and i told them this. Now they are saying because i spoke to the engineers i should have spoken to them too. But they are YOUR engineers!!! You asked them to call me. Soo upsetting as i have spent ao much already and paid insurance for 4mnths whilst car was at garage. What you are doing and have done is so wrong on so many levels Admiral..so wrong.

Bad experience with Admiral after hit and run accident. They never paid me, not having after 1 month from incident nothing in their system. They was expected me to claim on my insurance, because they can not afford to loose money in their business. Fully not recommended, not going forward with them.

I have admiral house insurance paid my premiums in good faith for never made a claim until 14th December 2018 when I had a burst pipe that ruined my kitchen floor and decor . I took photos and contacted admiral after 6 weeks they finally sent an assessor to look at the damage that was still evident my flooring and underborading was ruined and the skirting boards damp cracked and cracked paint on the walls . They then took another 2 weeks to send me an insulting offensive letter stating that no unforeseen water escape had occurred and that it was rising damp that is not covered on my policy . I am appalled my home was built in the 1970’s and has a fitted damp proof course I have never had rising damp . I have taken further photos of evidence now it has dried out and am seeking another assessment from a competent building surveyor to evidence the dishonesty of admiral at least if you are trying to default on a contract do it with something half competent rather than a fabrication and I suggest you employ assessors who know a little about buildings . I have been caused undue stress and had to take a loan out to get my home in a state of repair . My premiums have been taken fraudently and I am seeking legal advice shame on you admiral

My car was run into by a third party; the damage was such that Admiral declared it a write-off. Despite policy wording around paying out “market value” and “this is so you can replace the car with one of similar age, condition, mileage and specification”, they failed to do this, and short-changed me by around £700. Have cancelled all remaining policies, referred my case to the Ombudsman, and will never again use Admiral.

Got quoted £1300 until I told them about a non fault claim (when Someone drove into my parked car) meaning I still had 3 years no claims and they put it up £800 saying I’m more of a risk!! Basically no claims bonuses are useless.. Absolute joke would never use them again!!

blatant fraudulent claim against my vehicle and Admiral did nothing at all to defend me - research and use a different Insurance provider or risk the same thing happening to you...

Was in a non-fault accident where my car was written off. Was declared not at fault in just a few days, gave all the information they needed, got a full medical report from the GP and 17 months later, I've still not a penny of the £3000 they told me I should get from the other side because they're extremely slow with contacting me or the other side. I've paid a fortune in calls to admiral. I call ever couple of days and changed my insurer a YEAR ago to Hastings (best decision ever) and still there's no progress whatsoever in my claim!

really bad customer service. They stated that there was an issue with the "Claims Underwriting data base". I had to hold the line for over 15 minutes before they stated that everyone was OK. The whole experience including the 10 minutes on-line application was far too stressful.

Been with Admiral for a few years and went through the usual nonsense each renewal where the price gets put up till you call and get it back to a cheaper price than the previous year. In December my wifes car got rear ended. Other party's insurance took complete responsibility and covered all costs. Admiral though it would be a good idea to charge us an additional £180 for insurance for an accident that was not our fault and cost them nothing. Total greedy scum company just looking to boost their profits. Tell me how a person is going to be involved in another accident after their car has been rear ended? Looks like it's a case of guilty until proven innocent, even then you won't get that extra cost back. Just such a greedy company.
