“Without a doubt the worse insurance company I have ever come across. Unfortunately had to make a claim as my parked car was involved in a hit and run, the way admiral handled the claim was disgusting, it took 5 days countless number of phone calls and a discussion with a manager to get anything done. They are a complete shambles and will be avoiding them like the plague in the future.”
“Been with admiral for years and all was good until I had to make a claim .I phoned them to let them know I had a minor accident .And was told that they would take care of it they took that details I was told by the advisor that my car would be collected and a courtesy car supplied that was on the 19th a few minutes after being told a courtesy car would be supplied the retracked this and said it was a mistake on there behalf .I was unhappy and made a complaint I was contacted by a claims manager that apologised for me being miss leaded and offered 50 pound companshion. I was then told by the manager that he would look after my claim .he told me my car would be collected and again a courtesy car would be on the recovery truck but it wasn't so again I call them and explain that there no courtesy car to be told again sorry our mistake my car had to be assessed then a car would be available for me . I asked if the courtesy car could be a automatic as I have a bad leg told not a problem that they would speak to the garage to supply a automatic car . But what happened i was brought out a manual car which was a nissan note . Which has so much restrictions on it your to frighten to use it . Anyway my car was took to be repaired on the 22nd of March and am still waiting to get it back keep being gave different date and when the date comes it still not ready. I will never use admiral again and would never recommended as it all about money customers service is shocking and so unhelpful poor poor service which is a shame as I have a two car insured with them”
“truly awful - its all about the money - pure greed - forget service, quality etc just steal yr money as much as possible as quick as possible -
pls go elsewhere =
" admiral a..holes "”
“Currently undergoing the second worst experience of my life at the hands of Admiral house insurance following a water leak in the house. Topped only by the death of my Father. 4 months in and no progress on repairs. Continual lies as to the progress of the claim. Ultimately they don't, but then they don't see the effect it is having on my wife. So much for opting for the Platinum Insurance.”
“Poor all round service .Passed from puller to post .Tell you one thing then retracked it in the other .I have mulity car insurance with admria but will definitely NOT be renewing it with them .Very poor customer service”
“Putting the customer first. What a joke.
After a drunk woman took the front corner off my car whilst parked I obviously claimed. I gave a full statement and even gave details of a witness who gave his details at the time.
After months of messing me around and not giving me a straight answer as to what was happening with the claim and when I would get my excess back I received a letter from Admiral stating that they had tried to ring me and couldn't get hold of me so they settled the claim in favour of the third party. When I called them minutes afterwards they claimed they knew nothing of it. Then they denied ever having my contact details, which incidentally were printed on my statement of insurance which they posted to me at my home address. They also sent a copy to my email.
So they had that too.
However as I could not afford to employ a legal rep at the time I could not progress my claim against them. So I have ended up paying for their incompetence for the last 4 years.
Thanks a lot Admiral. For absolutely nothing.”
“Do not use . Son was parked in my car it was marked car park . I am not with Admiral but he was. When he informed them about being reversed into by someone who admitted fault and that his insurers paid my company the RAC. he was hit with an extra £90 for being honest. The incident did not involve Admiral at all , but they still robbed him.”
“Been with this rabble for 5 years and needed to make a claim when my wife's car was hit from the rear by a commercial vehicle. Dealing with the disinterested, rude and arrogant staff has been nothing short of terrible. They're currently offering me 60% of the market value of my wife's car and although they've cancelled our insurance are refusing to refund the eleven months of unused premium. Do not use this company- they will not pay out fairly!!”
“SLY!!!
Purchased insurance through confused.com. All good until I had letters informing me they wanted an extra £70 for me and my partners speed awareness course. They go back 5 years! How ever on confused it does not say anything about these courses being a conviction it's only when your in the contract they advice you you need to tell them about this. When you try to cancel they then want to charge you a 25 pound fee.
Stay away if you have had one of these courses they will slyly add on a premium if you go through a third party comparison site.”
“Very poor customer service! They are only after your money! I wanted to change my car and adjust my policy accordingly! You would think this is a very simple request until they tried to add an additional £310 to do so! Rather than adjust the policy and repayments and charge me an admin fee they had the cheek to try and charge me £310. It worked out cheaper to cancel my policy, with a £200 charge, and take out a new one. Different departments tell you different things. I have no idea how they can justify such a fee! During my first year of my policy I didn't hear a thing of them nor did they hear anything from me! They don't do anything to justify their fee. They do nothing for their customers!”
“i paid for my daughters insurance one payment for the year renewal came following year went on comparison site found a cheaper quote phoned admiral and told them wont be renewing etc 3 weeks later letter came you owe us 90 pounds phoned them and exsplained i dont owe anything because i didnt renew with you 4wks later letter from debt company in liverpool its now 120 pounds what a first class bunch of robbing people even dick turpin wore a mask avoid admiral like the plague”
“My car was in an accident while parked, the 3rd party was to blame and I have been waiting 3 months, so far, for admiral to, apparently, retrieve the police report. They have so far been no help and my insurance will no doubt have a mark against it for the rest of my driving career. They make no effort to contact me regarding this matter, my car is still damaged.”
“Extremely poor customer service following an accident issue. The claims department is the worst I've dealt with so far. No one took ownership of my issue and the file was passed around from pillar to post. I've spoken to every single agent in the team and no one was helpful or sympathetic to my issue. I will not renew after this negative ordeal. Beware if this company if you ever need help to claim !!!!”
“Terribly customer service. My car has been at the garage for over two weeks and the Engineers haven't yet been able to establish the cause of the issues to recent repairs. Every time I call for an update, am told someone will get back to me. I have been on hold now for over 45 minutes as I refuse to not get an answer.
I will be cancelling multi-car policy with immediate effect.”
“Non Fault Claims - AVOID ADMIRAL
Here’s an email i sent to Admiral this morning I think it says it all about the level of service you would recieve during a non fault claim (my car was parked outside my house and my nieghbour forgot to put his handbrake on and his car rolled down the hill and hit the back end of my car)...
To Admiral Claims Quality,
I am utterly disappointed with Admiral following my recent non fault claim. Firstly trying to refer me onto Albany Assistence who have a terrible reputation, I bought my insurance with Admiral and expect their full support during these stressful times yet Admiral are causing the most stress.
I have supplied pictures of the damage at the scene of the incident along with all the details of the other driver (who excepts full liability) and his insurer and Admiral is now in receipt of the report from the garage, yet Admiral are refusing to fix part of the car or match the colour of the paint?! I did NOT sign up to an insurance policy that states anywhere that in the event of a non fault claim Admiral will fix some of the damage and find a similar paint colour. My car is 6 months old, costing £24000 and was obviously in excellent condition and Admiral say they do not want to pay for repair to the crease in the boot or use the correct paint to match the rest of the car and offer 60% of the cost of repair. This is an insult. Why should I lose value on my car and drive something that looks a mess because i choose Admiral as my insurer, full costs will be recovered from the other driver’s insurer and yet Admiral still want to cause maximum stress to me and my family, why? I thought i purchased insurance to protect me in the event of an accident and EXPECT my car to be repaired to it’s condition prior to any accident and I am sure that is what anyone purchasing insurance from Admiral expect too.
I will be sending a copy of this email along with all other correspondence to trading standards and posting this online to ensure anyone reading this understands Admiral policies before making a decision to insure their car with Admiral.
Yours Annoyingly,
Mrs Jackson”
“This company is a total disaster, keep well clear!!!
The multi car policy is an absolute rip off when it comes to making any changes, I cancelled one car off the policy and they increased the other car policy by over £420......for a 1.2 Corsa?? Come on!”
“Don't touch them. Rude, unhelpful and they never phone back!
Every excuse NOT to deal with your claim. Just ludicrous excuses.
1. Our emergency teams are busy in England (but I'm in Scotland)
2. Weather really bad in Manchester - but was sunny in Scotland.
3. Roofer turns up unannounced, walks over my roof without knowing problem, then leaves advising there's no problem! (Obviously water pouring through ceiling is normal where he lives)
Same roofer refuses to give me his name or company name when he phones ranting he'll be back when he can but not today... His word against mine!
4. Roof <8 years old - damage is tear!
5. Can't repair internal damage unless room is emptied of heavy custom built furniture -but I could carry out repairs over a period of time myself!
I have my car insurances and building/home insurance with Admiral but will NEVER use them again.
Awful experience.....”
