Chose to renew my car insurance with another company as Admiral had hicked the price, got this confirmed by email. Admiral then went and took the money from my credit card 2 weeks later! Wouldn't respond to my complaint for refunding it as they effectively 'stole' that money, credit card company stepped in and got the refund. Appalling company, underhand and deceitful.

Only AFTER I had queried it and then ADDED details of speed awareness course, as they required, I accepted their online motor quote but Admiral wrote charging me an extra c. £43 extra for "updating my conviction history". I protested; they agreed I had entered the SP30 and adjusted it to c £34, to included "administration charges" although it was not my fault they got it wrong. I said I would cancel because it was within the 14 day cooling off period and they reminded me there would be a £25 cancellation fee. The policy is not even due to start for another week!!! This is sharp practice! Avoid like poison.

Admiral is the only car insurance that loads excess due to having attended a driver speed awareness course which due to attending does not create points on dvr licence thus not regarded as an offence being committed along with making the driver more aware of speeds for areas traveler along. This company is falsely extorting money from client's. Would not recomended.

They cancelled my policy because I missed two payments. Now they won't renew my policy I've got to pay the outstanding balance. I've also got to find another car insurance plus still pay my outstanding balance. They are the worse car insurance ever not helpful at all. They are shit

They wanted to charge me an excess of £375 as I had only been driving my car for 2 years, midway through my policy. Just a total con. I accordingly cancelled my insurance and am now insured with another via a comparison web site at a significantly lesser figure. Admiral are just con artists.

I asked twice for the policy documentation - nothing! I will never purchase any policy from Admiral again.

Went through a cash back site, admiral experience an IT issue but said I was still eligible for the cash back (I have the email which they sent confirming this) and would receive it after 90days, did not receive this, I chase them and they now say I am not eligle for this. The cash back was the only reason I went with them as without it other places were cheaper. Will not use them again as they do not stick with their word

Terrible service and rip off prices, anything I mentioned added more money to the quote and they had the gall to charge me an extortionate cancellation fee...for two minutes if their time! Got over 13 insurers online that were over 50% cheaper

I took out home insurance, and at the time they asked if I'd be interested in a quote for car insurance (when it was due 9 months later). I said yes. Next thing I get a cover note and motor policy and they wanted a payment. Although they apologised and didn't take money I decided to tell them I wasn't interested in motor insurance with them. They then said I'd got a 'multi insurance' quote and wanted another £50. I told them no way and they backed down. I'm appalled by their shady practices and the sooner I can take my business elsewhere the better. I just don't trust them. What they did wasn't what you'd expect from a boae fide company!

Even one star is too much. Avoid at all costs; I had a car accident with minor dent and some steering damage. Garage brought it back to me after 3 weeks and 100 phone calls later, not even fixed properly. Had to be returned back to the garage to fix the cheap work which had been done. Worst of all is that I had to chase for everything, no communication from them which made the situation stressful and disappointing. For info I am with bell insurance, which is dealt with by admiral, all the same thing.

Absolutely dreadful customer service. They don't even respond to complaints. The way they handle claims is abysmal, caving in to third party demands at the drop of a hat. Avoid at all costs, they'll cost you a lot of money in the long run, your insurance will go up even if the third party claim is bogus and your no claims bonus is affected obviously. Disgusted with their lack of professionalism. Can only assume they have work experience or school leavers dealing with claims!

I'm trying to add myself to my terminally ill father's Admiral car insurance policy and have spent many hours on the phone (mainly on hold) to some call centre in India, when I should be spending time with my father during his final few days of life. I have been fobbed off by numerous idiots, giving me pathetic excuse after excuse, and the simple task of adding me to his policy has still not been resolved. I always use Aviva for my car insurance, and I'm sure they would not give such inexcusably disgusting service. I would not wish Admiral on my worst enemy. I would give Admiral ZERO stars if possible.

they do not insure learner drivers in Northern Ireland. You only find this out after filling in all the forms online, that is 30 minutes Ill never get back. The headline saying that they do insure drivers in the UK is misleading. They are aware of it bet refuse to put a notice up to stop you wasting your time.

Auto renewal Please be aware that all admiral companies use this facility. Last year my insurance with them was £250 with no years discount, as I've previously just been insured on my husbands car ins policy. I've not claimed or had an accident but this year they wanted £680 with 1 years no claims . My fault in this is that die to going on holiday during this time and running my own business as well as a busy household I didn't have the time to cancel the policy. as the car is being sold and for that they've charged me £65 for 2 weeks insurance. I called to explain my car has been off the road and not used etc etc but they wouldn't waver this fee. I didn't ask for this renewal and wouldn't have renewed at that price if I was keeping the car but auto renewal caught me out . They will try to tell you it's for legal reasons to ensure I'm continually insured if that was the case why the extortionate hike in policy price. Be warned a rip off uncaring company who obviously need £65 so much if they are willing to charge someone for something they didn't need or request.

My daughters car (worth £2800) was written off 6 months into the policy (the other driver didn't stop so she got no details from him) Admiral finally paid out £2000 after first offering £1650, she rang them to ask if she could transfer the remainder of the policy onto a new car and she was told yes, We spent the day looking for another vehicle and put a deposit on one, When my daughter contacted Admiral to tell them the new cars registration number she was told the policy had been cancelled and she would now have to pay £3,300 to insure the new car. This company are liars and so unprofessional DONT insure anything with them they quoted a new insurance policy for £3300 simply to recoup the money they paid in the claim, that's not an insurance policy! That's just blatantly them trying to get their money back or more likely telling you to Fuck Off DONT INSURE WITH ADMIRAL!!!!!
