Very very poor service once I had a claim. Admiral Law is the same, dealing with a bunch of incompetent people who can't do their job.

Watch out!! When I signed up with Admiral they provided the best quote but as time went by they pushed up the premium. For me they are now twice the cost of some of their competitors. Time to switch

I inherited my dad's car and instead of using Directline who my old car was insured with, I foolishly chose Admiral and applied online. They later phoned and after an hour persuaded me to add my husbands car when his insurance ran out, which wasn't until 352 days later, but I had to pay then. What they didn't tell me is that they removed my protected non claims bonus, and placed it on his, which was already insured on his current insurance, so I've been driving around thinking I had protected no claims bonus, when they'd put it on his car, which was still covered by his Directline insurance, and was only going to be on the Admiral Insurance for 13 days at the end of my first years insurance with Admiral!!! I only found this out yesterday. Today I've told their Indian call centre lady to cancel my insurance totally, and I've gone back to Directline where both my husband and I get protected non claims bonus on our cars and we're both named drivers on each other's. Directline were no more expensive, seem to have English call centres and include Business Use as standard. It's been an expensive lesson to learn with the cancellation fee, but I will certainly never ever use Admiral again, and I certainly wouldn't recommend them to anyone, I'm just thankful I didn't have an accident in the four months I was with them, I wasn't prepared to just cancel my husbands insurance with them, as quite frankly I lost all confidence in them and wanted nothing more to do with them.

Really disappointed to have had a quote treble over the phone compared to online because I simply asked my old insurance company to come and inspect storm damage. I chose to have the work carried out away from the insurance company and had the case closed. I walked away from them with a proof of no claims bonus yet admiral are still saying I had an intent to claim. So a premium goes up by £285 because I didn't claim! Where is the sense in that?

Appalling , very misleading about what their insurance is. They expect you to do the work for them whilst trying to get you sign up and pay for additional services of some third party instead of getting on and dealing with your "no fault" claim . Avoid Admiral at at costs.

Shame on you admiral.

Nightmare customer service. When I reported the accident, they didn't open my file with all information and picture, until I chased them to update me. The accident was not my fault, but they are not updating you, giving you the wrong information, they say, they can recall the call, etc. They said, I have to deal with third company about the excess, even their website something else and I was told on the phone something else, but apparently they can't find the call, even they record all calls. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY. SO MUCH STRESS. THEY DO NOT PROTECT THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!!

It went wrong when they ripped me off for cancelling my policy I had to because my car failed and didn't work so needed a new car they wouldn't transfer the policy without charging extra and decided that an extra £150 just to cancel it early was acceptable it's not my fault that they won't be any help in changing it but I have to pay for it, I also had to wait until a direct debit went out before we cancelled it so all in all a pain in the neck and wouldn't recommend them at all

I want to review the review, your website, supposedly trustworthy. I had been a customer of admiral, till they blackmail me for uninsured car, which is parked in a private land. Admiral insurance also forcefully tried to use my credit card details to insure it, eventhough I said on phone DO NOT TOUCH MY CARD DETAILS. I can see through the reviews that many of of them fake, and they even use the same name for the other insurance companies reviews.

A driver claimed that we had gone into the back of him in slow moving traffic. This was not true. Even the person inspecting our vehicle said there was no damage and therefore there could not have been any contact. The other driver claimed£25,000 for whiplash and damage to his car. Admiral paid out 2k just to avoid a court case and then it was put down as an at fault claim and we lost our no claims bonus. They are only thinking of themselves not the people who insure. Now our premiums when we went to other companies have gone up because we have lost their no claims bonus and there is an at fault claim on our record even though we haven't done anything wrong and Admiral are just trying to save themselves money. A charlatan company.

I sought a quote for a Renault Clio V6 2002 through Confused.com. The best quoted price was from Admiral .. it was approx £1075.00. I attempted to insure online. I was told when attempting to pay that i needed to contact one of their advisors as there was a discrepancy in my application. The advisor told me that my licence details and claims details did not match. I explained that the two claims details.. both for under £200 (less than the excess on the current policy were nothing to do with me ).. there was also a speeding penalty of 3 points from over three years ago showing on my licence as expired. Despite all this when added to my policy they eventually (this took several hours) that the premium had increased to £2800.00 .. That is as close to theft as anything i have ever experienced... how do we know whether the information they have found is genuine .. and how to you remove it when it is not..The whole thing is a joke.. and to increase the premium by that amount for those reasons is in my view criminal. The confused.com website is causing the misrepresentation and allowing Admiral to waste everyone's time. They both need investigating by the Financial Conduct Authority.

I am a driver for 25 years with non-EU full license. I moved to the UK in 2016, bought a car and a policy from Admiral with the black box monitoring device. After 10 months of safe driving I extended my policy with Admiral. By now I drove 12000 miles in the UK without any incidents. By law I am only permitted to drive with non-EU license in the UK for up to 12 months. So now I passed the exams, got a full UK driving license and informed Admiral of that. I thought getting UK license and therefore confirming my driving skills will please the insurer and improve conditions of my policy... No way... Admiral sees it differently! They asked me to pay extra GBP 380 in addition to GBP 660 I've paid for the new policy just because they now treat me as a novice driver with a new UK license! Pay more or go away find another insurer, Admiral says to me. What a joke and a pervert logic!

I have made a claim and it took 3 months to resolve!!!! Three months after the writing of my car decision + 1,5 month to make a claim. Every phone call sounds as if they were making jokes on me, very disrespectful tone - until I get super grumpy. I don't want to be grumpy just to make them be nicer to me..... - ?! So word of advice - be RUDE they will get NICER - unbelievable! Without my authorization, they phoned my financial company to discuss the settlement figure after wich they have cancelled my car policy. I agreed to neither because I have been advised by GAP not to yet as they need to review the case. Now I need motor insurance certificate wich they do not have as they ceased my insurance so the document doesn't exist anymore! It would be at least good if only I knew my policy stopped existing then and there! How can you not say that! The worst is that I kept on asking for the above doc via phone as I couldn't access my online account due to their admin mistake. It took me 3 phone calls to amend the email correctly, about 5 or 6 trying to gain required documents, 46 minutes of the last call and three transfers to different departments just to tell me that document I am asking for doesn't exist anymore after wich the question followed: ''Is there anything else I can help you with?" "Well,-I said - I still require my documents so transfer me through to someone who can help" - "I can only help with this and this and because you were transferred so many times already I can't and you have got to call again!" They always promise to get back to you, they swear to call you back with an update - I have never ever received a promised call back, apart from the times when they want you to upgrade your policy with extra bits that you pay extra for. The incompetence of people you speak to strikes and they never seem to know how to help you unless it's a book example like making a claim. Now, saying that I asked about step by step guide as to how to make a claim and how will it affects my policy etc. - I want to know what is going on. Never got an answer about how you claim and what you do and I was kept on being referred to my policy that I still didn’t have! Ha! Admiral kept on coming up with new requirements and surprising information contradicting previous incompetent person's answers every single phone call I have made. Bear in mind it has been 4,5 months of nightmare phone calls and stressful days because every time they have a new problem to deal with. I and my partner are paying 2,5 k now for only one car as my policy need to come to an end of the contract (what contract?! - next call surprise...) because I have made a claim. Zero advice on any matter. I complained twice and they have never got back to me with resolution…. What kind of customer care is that!!?? The official complaint is impossible – I want to speak to the bosses I had enough! They will write it down and pass it on – rather throw it in the bin below their desks… I don’t trust Admiral. I don’t find them respectful. I don’t think they willing to be helpful! I think they are always misguiding customers. I now they will do everything to make you give up on claiming. Dissatisfying and totally useless helpline! All that costs me 2,5k! I have never ever been so mistreated by someone whom I pay money...

1) Awful Awful Awful company. Took my cheque for 900GBP when i moved from ireland to UK. I changed car to UK reg. On returning some months later to ireland on a breakdown they would not do temp transfer to dealer car because it was not UK registered. 2) Window chipped. Called and reported, took three days to call and arrange repair. In that time the window cracked all the way across. Glass repair company told me due to complexity of car systems the replacement needed to be done by Audi but Admiral would not agree and insisted the glass company did the repair. The technician for the glass repair in the end caused almost 2000 of damage to the car systems and the car had to go to audi in the end for 1 week. Despite being warned, admiral failed to listen. 3) to top it all off, a lorry ran into me recently, and admitted liability, there was CCTV footage. I was in the process of changing my car, and the repairs were estimated at almost 10k. The car wasn't written off, so i asked for a cash amount so i could sell the vehicle for less. They refused and would only pass it over to a third party called auxillis who would only repair the car taking 5 weeks, and loosing the new car deal I was getting. On top of this, even if the engineer did decide to write my car off, that would have to go under my own insurance policy despite the third party clearly being in the wrong, and admitting it. The biggest stress caused in the whole accident process was caused by my own insurer.

The worst insurance company for me so far. No price structure, poor customer service, and never inform them when your car is crashed by other driver, they will kick your butts! Only interested in exploiting customers, especially if you use them as first insurance company.
