A driver claimed that we had gone into the back of him in slow moving traffic. This was not true. Even the person inspecting our vehicle said there was no damage and therefore there could not have been any contact. The other driver claimed£25,000 for whiplash and damage to his car. Admiral paid out 2k just to avoid a court case and then it was put down as an at fault claim and we lost our no claims bonus. They are only thinking of themselves not the people who insure. Now our premiums when we went to other companies have gone up because we have lost their no claims bonus and there is an at fault claim on our record even though we haven't done anything wrong and Admiral are just trying to save themselves money. A charlatan company.

I sought a quote for a Renault Clio V6 2002 through Confused.com. The best quoted price was from Admiral .. it was approx £1075.00. I attempted to insure online. I was told when attempting to pay that i needed to contact one of their advisors as there was a discrepancy in my application. The advisor told me that my licence details and claims details did not match. I explained that the two claims details.. both for under £200 (less than the excess on the current policy were nothing to do with me ).. there was also a speeding penalty of 3 points from over three years ago showing on my licence as expired. Despite all this when added to my policy they eventually (this took several hours) that the premium had increased to £2800.00 .. That is as close to theft as anything i have ever experienced... how do we know whether the information they have found is genuine .. and how to you remove it when it is not..The whole thing is a joke.. and to increase the premium by that amount for those reasons is in my view criminal. The confused.com website is causing the misrepresentation and allowing Admiral to waste everyone's time. They both need investigating by the Financial Conduct Authority.

I am a driver for 25 years with non-EU full license. I moved to the UK in 2016, bought a car and a policy from Admiral with the black box monitoring device. After 10 months of safe driving I extended my policy with Admiral. By now I drove 12000 miles in the UK without any incidents. By law I am only permitted to drive with non-EU license in the UK for up to 12 months. So now I passed the exams, got a full UK driving license and informed Admiral of that. I thought getting UK license and therefore confirming my driving skills will please the insurer and improve conditions of my policy... No way... Admiral sees it differently! They asked me to pay extra GBP 380 in addition to GBP 660 I've paid for the new policy just because they now treat me as a novice driver with a new UK license! Pay more or go away find another insurer, Admiral says to me. What a joke and a pervert logic!

I have made a claim and it took 3 months to resolve!!!! Three months after the writing of my car decision + 1,5 month to make a claim. Every phone call sounds as if they were making jokes on me, very disrespectful tone - until I get super grumpy. I don't want to be grumpy just to make them be nicer to me..... - ?! So word of advice - be RUDE they will get NICER - unbelievable! Without my authorization, they phoned my financial company to discuss the settlement figure after wich they have cancelled my car policy. I agreed to neither because I have been advised by GAP not to yet as they need to review the case. Now I need motor insurance certificate wich they do not have as they ceased my insurance so the document doesn't exist anymore! It would be at least good if only I knew my policy stopped existing then and there! How can you not say that! The worst is that I kept on asking for the above doc via phone as I couldn't access my online account due to their admin mistake. It took me 3 phone calls to amend the email correctly, about 5 or 6 trying to gain required documents, 46 minutes of the last call and three transfers to different departments just to tell me that document I am asking for doesn't exist anymore after wich the question followed: ''Is there anything else I can help you with?" "Well,-I said - I still require my documents so transfer me through to someone who can help" - "I can only help with this and this and because you were transferred so many times already I can't and you have got to call again!" They always promise to get back to you, they swear to call you back with an update - I have never ever received a promised call back, apart from the times when they want you to upgrade your policy with extra bits that you pay extra for. The incompetence of people you speak to strikes and they never seem to know how to help you unless it's a book example like making a claim. Now, saying that I asked about step by step guide as to how to make a claim and how will it affects my policy etc. - I want to know what is going on. Never got an answer about how you claim and what you do and I was kept on being referred to my policy that I still didn’t have! Ha! Admiral kept on coming up with new requirements and surprising information contradicting previous incompetent person's answers every single phone call I have made. Bear in mind it has been 4,5 months of nightmare phone calls and stressful days because every time they have a new problem to deal with. I and my partner are paying 2,5 k now for only one car as my policy need to come to an end of the contract (what contract?! - next call surprise...) because I have made a claim. Zero advice on any matter. I complained twice and they have never got back to me with resolution…. What kind of customer care is that!!?? The official complaint is impossible – I want to speak to the bosses I had enough! They will write it down and pass it on – rather throw it in the bin below their desks… I don’t trust Admiral. I don’t find them respectful. I don’t think they willing to be helpful! I think they are always misguiding customers. I now they will do everything to make you give up on claiming. Dissatisfying and totally useless helpline! All that costs me 2,5k! I have never ever been so mistreated by someone whom I pay money...

1) Awful Awful Awful company. Took my cheque for 900GBP when i moved from ireland to UK. I changed car to UK reg. On returning some months later to ireland on a breakdown they would not do temp transfer to dealer car because it was not UK registered. 2) Window chipped. Called and reported, took three days to call and arrange repair. In that time the window cracked all the way across. Glass repair company told me due to complexity of car systems the replacement needed to be done by Audi but Admiral would not agree and insisted the glass company did the repair. The technician for the glass repair in the end caused almost 2000 of damage to the car systems and the car had to go to audi in the end for 1 week. Despite being warned, admiral failed to listen. 3) to top it all off, a lorry ran into me recently, and admitted liability, there was CCTV footage. I was in the process of changing my car, and the repairs were estimated at almost 10k. The car wasn't written off, so i asked for a cash amount so i could sell the vehicle for less. They refused and would only pass it over to a third party called auxillis who would only repair the car taking 5 weeks, and loosing the new car deal I was getting. On top of this, even if the engineer did decide to write my car off, that would have to go under my own insurance policy despite the third party clearly being in the wrong, and admitting it. The biggest stress caused in the whole accident process was caused by my own insurer.

NEVER use admiral... they charge you a HUGE amount for the box instalment even if you have been away or didn't receive the email or they had a wrong number even though I had called them off my new one!! It's the last I have anything to do with them!

The worst insurance company for me so far. No price structure, poor customer service, and never inform them when your car is crashed by other driver, they will kick your butts! Only interested in exploiting customers, especially if you use them as first insurance company.

I have had my car insurance with Admiral for two years and was just about to renew for my third year. Last year I upgraded to a new car and paid around £800-900 for my car insurance. Halfway through the year Admiral asked me if I wanted to plug in a black box in my car and drive with it for 3 months to see if I could get additional discounts. I accepted the offer and three months later I received an e-mail saying "Congratulations, you are one of our safest drivers" and that I would receive a discount in my renewal. The renewal came, and shocked me with an invoice of £1800! Instead of giving me a better price after yet another claim free year together with the black box discount, they bumped up the price with almost £1000! I went on to a comparision site to see if I can find a better price elsewhere. Admiral once again came up as the cheapest and the quote was now £888 (around the same as I paid last year, before driving with the black box). The customer service agent at Admiral added this quote to my account but was not able to help me with any information on the black box discount. At e-mail conversations with customer service later they simply told me "the black box discount is already included" despite me telling them over and over again that this price is one that I found myself online and it has nothing to do with my black box. So to re cap: I left Admiral due to their unreliable pricing structure, them wasting my time with the black box and their very poor customer service. I found an even better deal with Aviva (that wasn't visible when I compared the market).

Absolute rip off.We have insured our car with them and they have renew our policy without our consent. They haven't sent anything by post and didn't call us. We don`t have access to internet and they took advantage of that saying that they did give us notice through e-mail and their online portal. We still are being charged £87 even though we sold the car.

After being crashed into whilst stationary at traffic lights you would think this is quite a straight forward case for an insurance company to sort out. Whilst the repair and payment for my car went well and was dealt with reasonable quickly it all went wrong when my case was handed over to the injury specialists! My case handler was like a ghost, impossible to pin down by phone and completely ignorant when it came to answering emails!! Letters and documents lost, a battle over 11 months to get anywhere and now a settlement has been agreed, after complaining about said handeler and recovering another I might add the figure was half of what I was told I would receive! No consideration has been given to me for my injuries and the stress it has created for me and my family not only physically but mainly mentally and I have had to constantly phone and email nearly twice a week for almost a year to even get information on what stage we are at! Now admiral law have my compensation but have still not transferred it into my account. I have been given 5 dates in which the funds will be cleared and still there has been nothing! Every time I contact admiral another latent lie is given to me! I will never use this. Implant for anything for as long as I live! An absolute shambles with no care or consideration to the customer who pays their premium every year without fail. Steer well clear!!

30 mins to get through on the phone is unacceptable. Prehistoric phone queueing system. Rude, uninterested advisors. Yes, they'll be cheap, but just pray you never need to contact them during the policy.

I was a victim of a hit and run crash and all Admiral have done is make things 10 x harder. I rang Admiral instantly after the crash and despite the fact they were quick picking up my car and towing it away, they told me my car was written off (there was only damage to the rear bumper and exhaust) they tried to only give me £1,900 for it!!! After a long time arguing with them over the phone I got them to agree to give me £2,500 but I still feel that's a unfair price for my car. Even though the other car went straight into the back off me, drove away AND I HAVE TOLD ADMIRAL THE REG NUMBER, they have put this claim on my policy. Meaning I have lost 2 years no claims and have to say I've written off a car. They also cancelled my policy (which had 7 months remaining and I paid it in full at the start of the year). They say "the accident is your fault until the other driver admits responsibility". I find this service a joke, it is completely unreasonable. Every time I ring I get passed around 8 different departments, spend about 45 minuets on hold and have to explain my whole situation to every person I speak to, they all ask me things I've already told them and most the staff contradict other members of staff, their service would probably be something I'd laugh at if it wasn't at my expense. They have been no help at all, caused arguments between me and my family and there's nothing I can do. I have no regrets in life apart from opening an insurance policy with Admiral. I believe they also own Diamond and Elephant insurance. Please chose another company.

Rate 0 star not even giving them 1 at all. Beware: Stay away with a poor services insurance company!!!! I informed Amiral about car incident 7/8months ago. They took the driver detail, vichicle registration no, date of incident etc. They said to me the vichicle who hit me are insurance with them too. They need to contact with the policy holder first because the driver name was not on the policy. So they will give me a call back. A week after I still have not receive a call back from admiral. So I called back and see what happens. They replied: They can not trace the car owner!!!!!! Since then......my multi car insurance due to renew. So we call admiral again about the renewal. At the same time, we ask about the incident that we informed about 6months back. This time admiral replied: we called a month ago to cancelled the claim. Another 2 months after today, they emailed me. And ask about my own claim & allow you're no claim bonus. I called back today after the incident happened 8months ago. what's going on. I am completely lost. I do not understand why I have to claim myself that I hit by other vichicle!! And I only inform them an accident, didn't say I make a claim myself. Admiral replied: they try to trace the car owner & ask them about the driver who is uninsured on the policy. They still advisement to claim myself, pay the excess and claim it back after. This is my case, will I claim myself that I m NOT at fault! No!!!! Never help & give you any advice that's their service!!! I will never recommend Amiral to my family & friends. And stay away!!!

Do not insure with these crooks. I have just received a renewal quote from Admiral and my policy has gone from £550 approx to £1750. I cannot possibly express how annoyed I am. A couple of months ago someone bumped into the car whilst my wife was in a shop. A friendly person who spotted the hit and run sent us contact details and the reg of the person that caused the accident. The damage on our car was fairly minor. How on gods earth can they put the policy up by £1200 per year for an accident that wasn't the wife's fault and equally the damage came no where near £1200 to fix. Their conduct is so obviously dishonest and they offered my a £40 discount when i rang them to complain. Why would anyone ever ring you to report an issue i should have just gone and got it fixed myself for £200.
