I made two phone calls to make a claim, the first one I held on for over 45 minutes, gave up and sent an email asking to be contacted, a week later, still waiting. The second call I made took over 35 minutes to be answered. In all fairness the young gentleman who dealt with my claim was extremely helpful.

Was charged a £20 failed payment charge when I first signed up with them when they tried to take a payment too early from my account this was then took off my account however when I went to renew with them I then got told it had been revoked after explaining again why it was on there they then said it would be took off again I received an email to contact then to which I was told it wasn’t a failed payment charge but an admin fee. Clearly states on policy failed payments £20 and admin fees are £25. I’ve now raised a complaint and awaiting the decision but if I new it would of took this much of my time in phone called and emails I would not of renewed my policy with them.

Misleading price on the renewal offer leading to a £20 charge for payment not being there when the real amount per month was in tiny writing below the given quote per month. Be clearer!

Sizeable increase on last year but wanted the RAC cover but wasn’t impressed when after renewing was told that the Motor Legal Protection wasn’t included which was last year no effort made on their behalf to rectify this and they know about their mistake

I am not Happy, I stayed with Dial direct this year for my third year , even with my no claims discount i am still paying more than i did last year, so no advantage for me there, I am 73 years old and drive at most 2000 miles a year, Unless I get a better deal next year I will spend more time shopping around, just came out of hospaital recently and had little time this year to look around for a better deal. Over 65s who are generally good ,careful drivers its about time all insurance companies offered Senior citizens a better deal. With the cost of living and someone like me on a very tight budget as are nearly all pensioners, more should and could be done to help senior citizens keeping there insurance premiums within reason at more affordable prices.

Cannot get through to anyone on the phone. I have tried various extensions, but only kept waiting on hold. Not good company name, “Dial direct” if you can’t contact you.

We had a blocked kitchen drainage over the weekend and tried to contact Dial Direct who first told me they couldn’t validate my account despite providing address, policy number etc. After calling repeatedly, I was given the Home emergency assist number. Before that, I was given several other numbers which again lead to the main contact number on the policy. When I finally got the home emergency assist direct line, an automated voice told me they are closed weekends and to hold if it is an emergency. I did several times but the call gets cut off after 20 seconds every time. I did this all day on Saturday hopeless and without a functional kitchen. I had no choice but contract a trades person which cost me £260. If they don’t work on weekends, how is that an emergency assist?? Emergencies don’t wait till offices are open. I can’t believe I am paying for nothing!!! I will definitely request refund of the £260 I paid.

Premium is cheap, but you get what you pay for. Service is really poor. COMMUNICATION: Impossible to get through on the 'phone without waiting at least 15 minutes. And it is extremely difficult to find an email address (contact@dialdirect.co.uk). When using the email to correct an error on a renewal quote, the revised package came back with the same error. The Live Chat is awful. It picks up a word from the question a User has entered and replays a series of possible responses related to that word, none of which had even a remote link to my question. It is NOT "Live". It is an automated "robot". SERVICE: The service was so bad, I gave up trying to make a claim that was just a little more than my excess. Whilst the underwriters (Markerstudy) are a separate company, from a customer's perspective Dial Direct are responsible for administering all motor insurance issues. The underwriters were even more difficult to contact than Dial Direct (several 20 minute waits on the 'phone before I gave up). When I finally gave up and emailed Dial Direct to give up my claim, Markerstudy still called me 2 weeks later, apparently unaware I had given up the claim. RECOMMENDATIONS: As there is only me and my partner on the policy and hence a low probability of having to make a claim next hear, I have gambled on Dial Direct for another year as the premium is cheap. If there were a few family members on the policy with a much higher chance of having to make a claim, the service is so poor I would definitely find another insurer.

I am with dial direct for the past five years, this year i added another vehicle. In August 2022, i claimed for the second vehicle, they have paid the service provider, but my vehicle is not yet fixed. I lodge complaints i get acknowledgements, but complaint not attended to. I removed one of the vehicles because of their service. Very Good insurer, but once you lodged a claim, they don't care how the service provider treats you. You just become a policy number and a client.

To be honest it is my fault as I did not spot this automatic renewal notice hence I have finished up with two lots of insurance on my house. Therefore I would like to cancel this insurance and arrangement with Direct Dial. I ask that they contact via my mobile to do just that. My mobile number is 07836 619760. Thank you. Phil Spring

Change of address £40, cancel the policy, £46, 5 weeks left on the policy, rebate would have been £46.. Just manipulating circumstances to take the money from the Public... South African company, fox in sheep's clothing !!
