The premium is definitely cheap. But you get what you pay for. Customer service is virtually non-existent, so much so I gave up making a claim as the value was only just a little more than my excess. I always had to wait more than 15 minutes on the phone, and often gave up. It is almost impossible to find an email address (contact@dialdirect.co.uk). When I used it to try and correct an error on my policy, the same error was repeated, leading to 2 more failed phone calls and another email. The live chat function is useless - it picks up a word you have used in your question and replays standard answers that may be related to that word. None of the answers were remotely related to my issues Following an accident, after providing all the details in a long call with Dial Direct, I was passed on to the underwriters where I had to repeat everything. Whilst the underwriter is a different company (Markerstudy), I expect seamless service, and hold Dial Direct responsible for the claim handling process. The service from the underwriter was even worse - at least a 20 minute wait on the phone every time. As stated earlier I gave up through exhaustion and high phone bills. Dial Direct are cheap however - so I have gambled with them for another year as I reckon the chances of making a claim are low, so I will not have to deal with their Customer Service. If I had multiple drivers on my policy, and hence more chance of having to make a claim, I would steer well clear.

I haven’t had to claim on my insurance, but the first year’s price was quite competitive. It auto-renewed with a 10-15% increase which I was too busy to catch. And by paying monthly, the company unexpectedly gave me hard credit checks which worried me when applying for a new mortgage.

Was easy to renew but, given the fact that my car is another 12 months older and worth less, I fail to understand the increase in Premium..!!

Good price. Have tried to phone on 0344 412 2139 many time recently to talk to some one and have hung on the line for over half an hour a couple of times so hence the mid star Mark.thanks John warren

I was told that I would get my Insurance documents and breakdown recovery . The reason I want my breakdown recovery docs. is because I dont know who am with so I dont know who to phone if I break down

Dial direct are OK, Unfortunately Building Consortium who allocate the work are hopeless, decided to give you another chance following a bad experience with my claim for storm damage last November took 6 months to complete

This is my second year with dial direct but I did not receive my gift voucher last year and when I phoned I waited for ages and then after a while I got cut off

Why do I always have to ring up to get a lower price after car insurance always goes up in price for no valued reason after every years supscription???

"They wouldnt give me my 8 years NCB at start of policy as i was told i hadnt cancelled my previous policy altho i had proof the vehicle was sold.How ever when i sold my current van i received a rebate from my over payment"

Insurance across the board is so expensive, don’t matter where you go or what you drive it’s ridiculous for a 40 year old now. I need to drive for work so need it. Only ever gone up not down.

The policy is very good value for money. However when trying to add drivers on to the policy on line, I eventually gave up after repeated unsuccessful attempts. I eventually managed to do it by telephone.
