I don't mind the box so much, except for the fact it restrains you from driving at night. Essentially, acts as a curfew due to the fear of your score being compromised for driving after 10pm, which by the way takes ages to increase for the daytime driving. The discount however provided was amazing, hence cannot complain on the price front, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Although I had problems with the engineers coming to fit the black box and confusion over when it was activated as I was unaware it already was. When I phone up the people I spoke to dealt with my issues and gave me a refund on the telematics

All seemed very good, I am now on my way to have a cheaper car insurance, it was easy enough to get what I needed, so hopefully all will be well

Very confusing as the documents demanded, V5 and proof of no claims are not always available to the keeper of the car. I lease a car so do not get a V5. My current insurance provider will not provide no claims evidence until the current policy expires and that is after the smartmiles installation date. I cannot therefor comply with Smartmiles demands and info on correspondence states that I will be fined ?45 if I do not supply docs on the day of installation. Also calls placed on hold to sort this out for over an hour. Very frustrating and tempted to give up and cancel but will see what happens on installation day.

App doesn't work, I've logged my details but it stays in the loading screen for about 20mins and nothing happens. The smart miles box is fitted correctly although wasn't the easiest, specifically the battery fittings are far too small!

Sorted Insurance quote, then installer turned up 10am Sunday 4 days later as stated fitted tracker and photo copied Logbook and No Claims Bonus Proof. Easy Process no hassle.

I think the tracker on my battery is telling porkies when it's giving me31/100 for braking and 40/100 for speed especially when I'm keeping to the speed limits

Engineer turned up as planned. Took about 15 minutes to fit tracker. He also photographed log book

They did not turn up to fit my box and same day said they were cancelling my policy after on phone for long time to sort out they email said you charge me ?45 your customer service is poor won't you sale is good but not impressed

Used a search engine to compare the insurance quotes, and found Hasting SmartMiles gave me best options at the price I was happy with, compared to other providers. Service providing black box was very efficient and swift, fitting was easy with their instructions.

Terrible service, I was given mixed messages about if I payed for my insurance on the day it would secure the price. After I bought the insurance policy and realised some concerns I had, they reassured me that they understand what I was saying and that it should get sorted out. However, this issue was never resolved. I had to call on several occasions revieving a different response. I decided to cancel my policy as they were not understanding and although they explained their terms and conditions, they did not fully explain that certain aspects can not be converted or refunded. I have now lost out on ?210 due to this company. As a student, this is a lot of money and I am applaud with the service provided. I will never trust this company again. Very disappointed and I feel like I have been taken advantage of. The telematics box was self installed and I would happily send it back safely, there is no need to charge ?210 for this. Rip off! No longer a customer.
